My husband and I worked with Blumz for our wedding, and it was the best decision we made throughout the planning process!
Top to bottom, Blumz was involved! Rochelle worked with me to find the perfect floral arrangements, Robbin officiated our ceremony, and Jerome served as the day of coordinator. Robbin went above and beyond to get to know us and come up with the perfect ceremony for our wedding! The day of wedding coordination was a last minute add on for me, and I am beyond happy that we did it! Our entire wedding party would’ve been lost if it weren’t for Jerome. He told us where to be, when to walk, timed everything perfectly, and even helped me with my bustle when it broke!
The team at Blumz was incredibly professional, organized and added an extra special touch to our wedding day. I recommend Blumz for all of your wedding needs!

It’s always hard for me to choose a florist when I’m ordering from the other side of the country but I decided on Blumz after reading the reviews and although there are some stinkers, my gut told me to go for it. I wish I would have gotten the name of the young man that helped me but he was amazing. OMG, his phone mannerisms made me want to just start talking about anything. So friendly and had great ideas for what we were trying to accomplish. Very detailed and got everything down to a T. The process was great from ordering to invoicing to ever following up with us when the arrangement was delivered. If I ever need flowers in the Detroit area again, this is where I’m coming.

Robbin and Jerome of Blumz are truly a delight. They know what they are doing and they enjoy their work. They worked with my mother and I within our budget to make my wedding reception at an unconventional location truly UNFORGETTABLE. Their enthusiasm for making sure that your event is exactly what you want is unparalleled. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

Good flowers from a place in Downtown Detroit.

First off, Robbin at the Detroit location is fabulous to work with. I live in Georgia, but was in town for one (one!) weekend to work out details of my August wedding in Detroit. I didn’t care much about flowers — I kind of thought balloons would be cute, anyway — but my mother-​in-​law REALLY did. So be it. On short notice, Robbin met with us on Mother’s Day, one of the busiest days of his year, and everyone — myself, my sister/​maid of honor, and mother-​in-​law — left feeling special and excited about the flowers. Crazy, right?
In the weeks before the wedding, Robbin was easy to communicate with, friendly and excited. He was happy to adjust our order as needed, and sensitive to all the wacky family politics, divorces, half-​siblings etc. When I mentioned Robbin and Blumz to three of my other vendors, they all sang his praises. This is no small thing, either; I liked knowing they could, and had, all worked well together.
Day-​of: The flowers were gorgeous — bright, well-​made, crisp — and I loved Robbin’s idea for each bridesmaid to have a single flower, all of which made up my bouquet. Several people commented about it, and many a guest took home some beautiful bouquets from centerpieces at the end of the night. I loved seeing fresh flower sent off to happy homes.
There were a few snafus on the day-​of delivery; they tried to deliver the chairs and flowers for the ceremony to the wrong location. It all worked out — it wasn’t a huge amount of chairs or flowers, they didn’t have to go too far to correct themselves, and it truly was a Google-​inspired error. Understandable. (Best of all, our guests got a tour of our venue while they scrambled to get everything set up. I don’t think anybody minded the wait.)
The other fumble was that we were shy one groomsman’s boutonnière. Our day-​of planner — the very apt, helpful, Shelly from Simplicity Day-​of Coordination — cut an orange rose off the alter arrangement and fashioned a bout; nobody seemed to notice. Nothing catastrophic, but it was kind of a disappointing mistake for a pricey, if small-​ish, flower order.
Shelly, the planner, suggested I email Robbin just to let him know, and I did a few days later. He was kind about it, but not hugely apologetic, nor was there any offer of a refund for the missing flower, delayed start time etc. I didn’t care to ask for my $ 15 back or whatever the cost would’ve been, but then, I wonder how he deals with enraged, exhausted bridezillas? Really, that could’ve been me; I’m sure we’re both glad it wasn’t.
Overall, a very positive experience, with great quality and customer service far outweighing the little mixups on the wedding day. If I needed flowers again in Detroit, I’d definitely call Blumz.
For now, the flowers are pressed inside various books. I think I’ll keep them hidden there, and stumble into a happy surprise whenever I pull those books off the shelves.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet… sort of.
I ordered flowers for my mother-​in-​law for Mother’s Day online. I requested to have them delivered yesterday assuming today would be chaotic and unable to deliver on such short notice. In the special notes field, I asked them to leave the flowers at the front door (it’s gated and private).
I saw my mother-​in-​law today. No flowers were delivered. I called to follow up on the order when I got home. I’m not sure who I spoke to, but he took the order information and told me that he’d look into it and call me back.
Two hours later, I got a call from a very excited mother-​in-​law who loved her flowers. I never got a call back from the shop. I am going to assume by the tone of her voice, they were beautiful.
In the end, it all worked out. It was a good thing that they weren’t delivered yesterday and left at her door because of the crazy weather. She ended up getting her flowers ON Mother’s Day. However, they were delivered a day late, and no follow up call to put my mind at ease from the shop. Maybe I’m being harsh because (like I said) it all worked out.
I will probably give them a second chance. :)

When my mom and I started talking about flowers and florists for the wedding, we knew we wanted to use Blumz, but were afraid we wouldn’t be able to afford their fabulous designs. My dad and husband only get their flowers for us from Blumz and they are always so unique, long lasting and just gorgeous. We spoke to another popular florist to get an idea of how much things cost and I left the meeting feeling under-​whelmed. There was no collaboration, excitement, thinking out of a box. It was more, «We do this, pick something you like out of a book». Now, I love flowers. I love to garden, look at flowers, see new things. I wanted to work with someone who felt the same way. I didn’t want cookie cutter flowers that people may have seen at 5 other weddings.
So we met with Robbin at Blumz since we have gotten to know him through the years of going to their stores downtown and in Ferndale. I showed Robbin some of my inspiration pics and he started rattling off ideas that would work for us… as well as working within our budget. My mom and I left that meeting giddy and estatic, wanting the wedding to be the next weekend. But, we had to wait over a year :). I think I had more meetings with Robbin than any other vendor, because I would see something I liked or maybe wanted to change my mind. Robbin dealt with my sometimes in-​decisiveness and brought me back to what would really work best.
When I saw our bouquets the day of our wedding, I was in love. There were so many peonies in my bouqet and it was so lush and colorful. I was so anxious and excited to see the reception room I had been dreaming about for over a year finally come to life. And it complelely blew me away. Robbin and his team «Burned the midnight oil and lit a candle» to make our gorgeous centerpieces look top notch for our Mother’s Day weekend wedding. My jaw hung open for about 10 minutes when I walked into the room. The room made me so happy and set the tone for the fun night that was ahead… and our fun and funky centerpieces allowed that to happen.
I can’t say enough about Blumz and more specifically, Robbin. They are truly a great talent and really give their customers flowers that are above and beyond what you can imagine. They are so much fun to work with and really want to work with you to give you the look of your dreams on a budget you are comfortable with.
