4 of us had lunch here today. The food was outstanding. Papusas were perfect, with a great grilled cornmeal flavor. The Sopas were awesome as well. Generous toppings, and very flavorful. Food came out staggered over 15 minutes, but there was so much and it was so good, we didn’t mind. Still, keep that in mind if you are heading there with a large group.

Wow! The food was better than delicious and the servings were huge! I thought all Hispanic food was spicy, but not the Salvadorian food we tried! There is a bottle of Frank’s Hot Sauce on the table and that’s about it, except for the hot pickled jalapeños near the register. We each ordered one sopa and one pupusa and I included a photo of one plate. When they came they were large so we decided to share one plate and take the other home. Pupusas and sopas are $ 2.00 each. What a bargain! The pupusas we chose were crispy and filled with chicharrón(pork), beans and cheese. We chose carne asada for our sopas that are topped with lettuce, tomatoes and queso fresco. Mmmm! They both were Fabulous! For dinner we both chose the carne asada(marinated steak) which came with a heaping amount of rice, a choice of whole or smashed beans, a salad with tomato dressed with a light vinaigrette and two thick Salvadorian tortillas. Everything was so yummy! The steak was seasoned perfectly, the rice was hot and fluffy and the beans were out of this world! I started eating my dish immediately and forgot to take a photo until it was too late. It would have made a scrumptious pic! Our dinners were large and we took some of that home too. We even ordered a dinner to-go for my MIL! If I could give them 10 stars, I definitely would! I’ve wanted to go to this place for well over a year but I definitely won’t wait to go back! Antojitos El Catracho is a great, inexpensive restaurant. It’s cash only so make sure you have a few bucks before you go(and I mean go there now)!! When you go, tell them Diane sent you!

I’m always looking for new places to sample ethic cuisine, sort of the review source for my friends. I’m the one saying«Let’s go for…», usually food and/or location my friend don’t think of. I have to hold myself back otherwise I’d have lunch here weekly, the food is that GOOD.

Amazing Honduran food! Ordered a dish that came with bean and cheese papusas(their refried beans are vegetarian), cabbage, cheese, rice, refried beans and a side of plantains. It was more than enough food for 2 people and cost $ 13. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very clean. *Cash only, but there is an ATM next door* Here is a recent Metro Times Review that turned me onto this place: .
