Worth the wait in line & way more than donuts here! I had the pimento cheese omelet. It was exquisite & prepared just right with the eggs not too done and the cheese tasting rich, melty, and just a little spicy. I’d never had a pimento cheese omelet, but I’d get it again. The portions are huge, and the egg dishes come with hash browns, grits, or fried apples + biscuits or toast. Sharing a meal would be plenty of food for a lighter eater. I asked for the hash browns to be cooked with onion and was a little disappointed that the waitress said they couldn’t be prepared that way(I still don’t see why), but the serving size was large & the grated hash browns were a nice compliment to the omelet. Tip: Order a small side of tomato gravy. If you’ve never had Southern tomato gravy, you are in for a treat. It is fantastic on biscuits, and I put a little on my omelet & hash browns(so tasty!). It was some of the best tomato gravy I’ve ever had. The menu has some original choices, and I want to try the Crab Cakes Benedict. Tip2: In the far corner of the restaurant, almost hidden from view, is a chalkboard of specials with non-menu choices that look very appealing(that’s how I found out about the tomato gravy). I included a pic. They make their own bread here, so the cinnamon-raisin & sourdough breads that come with breakfast are each excellent choices. Another touch I really liked was the locally produced honey from The Honey Hutch on the table to put on biscuits. I got a sourdough cake donut to go as I left. They were sold out of the key lime pie donuts. But the sourdough cake was tangy, sugary, and just the right balance of crispness on the outside with soft«cakiness» inside.

I love breakfast. I had fried eggs over easy(cooked right), delicious bacon, huge fluffy biscuits with a delicious sausage gravy. I also had the cheese grits, which were just ok to me. My boyfriend had egg whites and they looked gorgeous. He ordered his hashbrowns with cheese, but they left off the cheese. The service was on point. I got some donut holes to go, but I waited too long to eat them,(my fault!), so I can’t comment on them. The space is nice. The prices are pretty average to me.

Consistently awesome. Get it to go to avoid lines. Gulf coast omelet and crab cake Benedict. Pick donuts that look best and be ready for an awesome breakfast. I don’t love the key lime as much as everyone else but it’s not bad.

Yummy breakfast place! We got there right at 6am, so luckily we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Within 45min — 1 hr the place was booming and the line formed incredibly fast! Ordered the cinnamon raison French toast and some sausage links, very yummy. My friend ordered the sweet potato pancake and it was delicious! Tasted like sweet potato casserole with the toppings! Husband got the gravy and biscuits and some eggs, while my son got the waffle. All the food was very good! We ordered some donuts to go — I wasn’t really impressed with the selection I picked out(cinnamon, chocolate cake, coconut chocolate, blueberry and a glazed), they seemed to be just like any other donut place selection. Next time I will try the key lime filled, and other filled selections they offer. I do wish they had a lemon filled as those are my absolute favorite! Till next time!

Went for take out at 6:30am, got a dozen assorted donuts. Red velvet, key lime filled, chocolate covered Devils food cake, regular glazed, peanut butter cream filled, chocolate cream filled with sprinkles, cookies and cream filled… all were delicious! Will be going back before we head back home for another dozen!

Expected a long wait but we got in and got out. Service was quick and friendly with no fuss. All of Our food came out as ordered. The eggs Benedict was wonderful. My boyfriend ordered The Everything and it was a lot of food for a reasonable price.

Biggest and best breakfast in town. Never had the desert because we are too full from the meal. Breakfast served all day. They have 3 locations in and around Destin. My favorite is the Diet plate.

Incredible food and very cool place, but a bit of arrogance and grumpiness killed the 5 stars. Everyone loved the donuts, as well as the breakfast burgers, veggie omelette, grits, chocolate chip and cinnamon sugar pancakes. Definitely going back, and tolerating the staff.

Price is reasonable, donuts were too dense and sweet. The red velvet didn’t even taste like red velvet, glaze didn’t taste like cream cheese at all. Their cake was moist and good though. 3 stars because the cake was moist, but the girl ringing us up was not friendly, didn’t smile and seems to hate her job.

We came here for breakfast and with the exception of the line out the door of people waiting to get in, everything was good. The service, once seated was fast and the food came out quickly. I had the ham and cheese omelet with a side of biscuits and gravy. It was worth the wait.

What time of day should a girl come to get a whipped cream filled powered donut?! I had one at a church function and have been coming around all hours of the day to try and catch them but they’re always sold out! No worries, after talking to the other islandy server that she hooked it up with some angel food donut and a chocolate cake covered with chocolate frosting donut to help me in my time of sugary need. What I love about this place is that the service has always been sweet and quick. It’s a locals place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s nothing fancy, it’s a few blocks from destiny harbourwalk. The parking is reasonable and kid friendly. I love coming out here for a decent burger and fries so I can feed my inner skinny girl some food. It’s diner food with yummy donuts, cakes, cupcakes, huge cookies, and pies.

Awesome breakfast and dessert joint! We visited Donut Hole four times including the morning we departed Destin! The Gulfcoast Crabmeat benedict was amazing!!! It’s actually a crabcake placed between the poached egg and muffin — so delicious and fresh. The chocolate cake, key lime pie and peanut butter pie were amazing too. The regular donuts are not outstanding, but the specialty donuts are worth the try. Red velvet donut was ok — to me, it didn’t tasted exactly like a red velvet cake. The peanut butter cream pie was pretty good. I would’ve loved to try the key lime cream donut, but they were already out. Note, the specialty donuts will run out pretty early in the day. The pies and cakes are a hit too, so best to get these post early dinner. When they are out, they are out. Service was great. Very nice young people. The line for breakfast through lunch sucks, but it’s worth the wait. There’s another shorter line(to no line) if you do to-go order.

We were lucky on our visit, to be the 4th party in line. I had seen the line stretching out the door before for this place, but never realized it was because they don’t compile a wait list here. This gives you the uncomfortable feeling as you eat, that someone is standing around impatiently waiting for you to finish. People would wait anyway if there was a paging system, but you can at least make yourself comfortable as possible instead of awkwardly shuffling around until your turn is up. I felt better once I had food in front of me though. The Pimento cheese omelet is truly excellent, oozing with cheesy goodness in every bite. The hashbrowns were decent, but the biscuit had a slight chemical flavor that threw me off. I did like that the table was outfitted with all the fixins for breakfast, including local honey. I also liked the size of the coffee cups. My husband’s Huevos Rancheros was the strangest rendition of the plate I’ve seen. By its description on the blackboard, I did expect it to be stacked but they also served it on top of a bed of lettuce, and with sliced tomatoes on top which was utterly bizarre. The salsa was on the side instead of being part of the dish. It looked like a plate of random, extra ingredients they had laying around in the back. I don’t know why they would offer this as a special, one would expect a «special» to have a bit more love put into it. My husband ate it up though, so it couldn’t have been too bad! I wouldn’t mind going here again, and sticking to the omelets, or trying the sandwiches. I think they have a good thing going on. But the wait system really puts me off so you’d only find me here again if the line is nonexistent.

Stopped at the Donut hole on a recommendation and we were totally impressed. Besides donuts you can also get regular food, and they really excel at their breakfast menu. I had the 2 Eggs with Bacon, Cheese Grits, and Buttermilk Biscuit and it was delicious! I really wanted to go nuts and get the«Diet» Breakfast(sarcastic name of course) or the breakfast burger, but i’ll leave myself something to get the next time I’m in Destin. In addition to the breakfast, I also had a Red Velvet Donut and the Peanut Butter Cream filled donut(2 of there more popular donuts). The red velvet donut was good, although it tasted more like a regular cake donut than a red velvet, but the peanut butter cream filled donut was amazing! I need to go back one last time to pick up the key lime cream filled donut for the drive back home(and maybe a few others). There was about a 20 minute wait when we got there at around 9:30 on a Sunday morning(off season), but once we were seated, service was fast and friendly. One thing to note, our server informed us that they have their donut deliveries from their bakery once a day every morning, so don’t wait too long to snag your donut, especially if it’s one of their more popular ones. I managed to grab the last peanut butter cream filled one today. Their high demand donuts include the Red Velvet, Peanut Butter, Key Lime filled, and the Vanilla Angel donuts. They are open until 9pm so they’re great for dessert after dinner!

My family and I were in Destin, FL and at the end of our stay we discovered this fabulous establishment. The line was long but it moves quickly if you wish to sit indoors. We experimented with trying various specials and everything was delicious. Coming from a family of chiefs we have high standards. The food always got us to stop talking and savour every bite. Best of all, the staff was friendly and the prices were great.

How can you not want to go to a restaurant called the Donut Hole? This is one of a few locations in Destin, but the closest to where we were staying in Fort Walton Beach. There was a looooong line out the door for dining in for brunch on a Friday mid-morning. We were willing to wait but there was 0 line for the pick up/carry out. Once we were seated, we tried to order donuts and found that most of the donuts we were hoping to try were already sold out for the day. What, it’s not even 11am and they still have lunch and dinner to serve! They told me they were not going to make any more red velvet donuts all day. Lies. The brunch menu is the typical diner/brunch fare. Nothing screamed«must try» so I ended up getting a special from the chalkboard — the señor Benny, which was a basic eggs Benedict with the toppings of a Huevos rancheros. I decided to also get some coffee to go with some non-red velvet donuts. The donuts were much better than the breakfast. I couldn’t finish my entrée, just the nicely poached eggs. The hash browns were tasty, though, because of how crispy they were. Service is slow, but I guess that’s to be expected at peak times. Check Google to see the peak hours for whatever day and time you decide to dine at the Donut Hole. We came back at the end of our trip to pick up some donuts to go. I finally got two red velvet, as well as various cream or jelly filled powdered ones. The red velvet was nice and moist. My favorite was still the chocolate covered devil’s food donut, with the red velvet at a close second. The blueberry cake donut and the sour cream were tasty but did not live up to my hyped up expectations. So long story short, brunch is aight, just stop in for the donuts. Save a few bucks on brunch for the seafood at lunch and dinner.

This is my favorite breakfast place in Destin! The coffee mugs are the perfect size(huge) also they will make you a to go cup included in your bottomless order. The donuts are on point but definitely get them to go and enjoy the breakfast here. Everything came out amazing. Biscuits, eggs, pancakes, French toast all are good. You wait in line to be seated and it can be long but they are quick here!

This is a diner/donut shop spot I wish we had in Miami. It’s a great place for a fresh & flavorful breakfast you won’t soon forget. The portions are large so plan to share or be ready to take some leftovers with you. Should you have a sweet tooth, this place is also a fully functioning donut shop that also offers cakes & pies. We ordered sausage biscuits & gravy, french toast, & eggs benedict. None of these were a letdown. The sausage gravy was seasoned just right, & the biscuits were perfect. Our french toast was also on point. The thick cut maple bacon was a solid brick red throughout with no clear fattyness in sight. As a nice take home snack for later, we opted for a cookies & cream donut. It did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a hearty breakfast with great flavors, look no further. Bring a big appetite & your sweet tooth.

This place came highly recommended by several friends that regularly vacation in Destin. That being said, we go to breakfast a lot and this place was just ok. Having waited in a giant line, I probably would not wait again. I would however grab a box of donuts to go. You do not put a name in here, rather you wait in line. You can pass the line of you just want donuts or pies from the counter. Staff doesn’t seem to be on the same page about several things and this is the one place in Destin I wasn’t obsessed with our service. It wasn’t bad, it was just awesome every where else. The scene: simple with lots of wood, booths, and a wrap around bar. Little country, down time feel. The order: we did a round éclair, huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, cheese grits, and a sour cream donut to go. They were out of red velvet, wah. The grits were like macaroni and cheese from a box with grits. Ranchero was ok, totally could have made everything at home easily. Boyfriends biscuit was a highlight, light and fluffy. The verdict: good, not great. Donuts to go is your best option in this foodie’s opinion.
