Decided to try the Spot during the holidays and was pleasantly surprised. It’s looked a little suspect from the outside but once inside, The Spot is pretty spacious with at least 8 TVs, and 2 pool tables. The menu is pretty diverse for a sports bar as well, more centered around Southern food. I went on a night where there were no specials and without specials, the menu is a slightly pricey. I got the catfish(which was 1 catfish fillet) and 5 wings basket, which is 12.99. So be sure to go on a Friday or Saturday night as most of the menu was offered at about $ 5 dollars per basket. All in all, I would return. Try the alligator bites, as an appetizer, they were fresh and hot!

Let’s go to The Spot!!! This is truly a hangout/divey bar & grill in southern Dallas County and much needed. It’s located behind Jack In The Box at Hampton & Pleasant Run, a very busy intersection. My friend and I went at a quiet time before an event was scheduled(we’re always going somewhere in time for a party lol) so we had time to peruse the drinks & food menu and chat with the owner. He’s from Louisiana and loves to cook. There are TVs everywhere, plenty of tables, and a couple of pool tables. The music is fantastic; mainly R&B, new & old. There’s something for everyone on the menu. My friend got the Trio: catfish, pork chop, & wings and I got the pork chop and wings combo with fries… Man! Everything was seasoned and fried to perfection! So worth the dietary splurge. For dessert, we got the honey fried biscuits with a lovely caramel sauce and lots of powdered sugar. not overly sweet and oh so good! Thanks to medication, I couldn’t drink but my buddy enjoyed her wine and hurricane. Did I mention how relaxing it is here? You’re not bothered at all, he’ll check you on few times and let you have fun. It’s just a great hangout spot. There is a daily happy hour, M-F, and the Friday happy hour includes a $ 5 food menu.

This is a up-and-coming watering hole in DeSoto. It’s just a friendly neighborhood place that is sure to gain more notoriety as people get to know more about it. They have all the standard drinks, and their rum and Coke is a classic. This is a spot where you can play dominoes, shoot some pool or watch the game. The food is nothing to make note about, just standard bar food that is not meant to be the star of the show. Go there, get some drinks, and have a good time.
