It’s ok to good for a suburban fest. Lots of locals, including from the nearby burbs. Lot smaller than the Chicago fests, including the block parties. The good — cheap. The bad — less things to do. The near restaurants serving food are pretty good.

As far as a local ‘Taste of’ it’s pretty good, not fantastic, but worth the stop if you’re in the area. The local restaurants that participate serve pretty decent food. The local businesses have some fairly good offers or are businesses you might not otherwise be familiar with. There’s a small craft sales area where I’ve picked up some fun jewelry for a good price. A good amount of activities for the kids, small rides, face painting, crafts. There’s really good pie at «Pies on the Porch» VERYTASTY! It’s worth the stop over, if you happen to be around Northwest Hwy/Miner and Des Plaines River Rd the first weekend in June… admission is free and there’s free garage parking less than a block away. What’s extra nice is that you can walk through the taste and pop over to one of the restaurants downtown and have dinner, so you can make a full night of it.
