Prairie Lakes Community Theater

Excellent place to take the family to see a performance. Especially the young ones. This is a great place to get young people acclimated to attending performances. Its a great experience. Affordable too!

Do you enjoy excellent theater performances? Do you want to see a play, but don’t want to blow your monthly entertainment budget on a play in the Loop? Do you want to to see the stage and actors no matter how far back you are seated? Do you enjoy supporting community theater? If you answered «YES» to any one of these questions, then you must hit up the Prairie Lakes Community Theater. I like this theater for several reasons: (1) The plays we have seen here over the years are any where from 4 to 5-​star worthy; (2) The price-​point is reasonable, so you can afford to take a date, your spouse or entire family; (3) No matter where you are sitting you will definitely see the actors as well as the entire stage; (4) The acting is always excellent and above expectations; (5) There is ample free parking; (6) It is close to the Metra train station; and (7) There are several good restaurants nearby.
The seats are super comfortable and spacious with plenty of leg room in front. This is a modern, clean theater with their own box office and a beautiful lobby. When it is the «dead of winter» and you are looking for something different to do consider seeing a play here. The «Big Noise» theater company has performed many, many, many plays at this theater. We are going to see «Legally Blonde: The Musical» in October. It starts October 4 — 19. I am super excited that they are also performing «Hair» (April 24 — May 9, 2015), because I have always been a huge fan of the 1960’s revolution (yeah, from the pot to the colorful striped bell bottom pant to the long hair on men to the beards and groovy dreggy clothes). I cannot wait to see this play! The costumes, acting and sets are always prodigious. If you enjoy music from the late 1960’s (remember «Woodstock» in the 1960’s) you have to check out «Hair!» The price-​point alone is 5-​star worthy. The tickets are under $ 30, but over $ 24. They are a lot less in price than what we paid to see «Jersey Boys» and «Million Dollar Quartet» and «Blue Man Group!» You can visit
