2⁄5 because this location has totally gone downhill. I’ve been shopping here on and off for about 2 years and today the store just grossed me out. Stuff is everywhere. Carpets are cluttered with little bits of things that really need to be vacuumed and the carpets are horribly stained… with God knows what. If Dollar Tree’s HQ is reading this: please, please remodel this place and hire a manager that gives a damn about it’s appearance. Two employees were working this morning at 10:30am; both were stocking and one was also checking out customers. The woman that checked me out was very, very friendly; so I had to give the 2⁄5. The newer location in Mt. Prospect is top notch. Head there if you can.

PROs: Everything for $ 1, Clean & tidy, Helpful staff, Very spacious CONs: You get what you pay for I come here mainly for buying snacks & holiday decorations. They have almost everything I need. For the price, I’m not complaining lol. The place is surprisingly big and organized. Because of that, it’s very welcoming and I would come back all the time.

assuming this is the dollar tree i go to– which is in the shopping center on golf &83(not a few blocks west of there as shown on Unilocal)– it is a-okay. i wouldn’t have thought of dollar tree for mylar balloons, but a coworker sent me here and they had just what i needed. i’m guessing 2 bucks for a balloon + weight is as cheap as they come. this dollar store is cleaner, better organized, and has a friendlier staff than i’ve come to expect from a place like this. i come here often for party favors, craft supplies, and random props i need for work.
