Des Plaines History Center

Staffed by some wonderful women who go out of their way to make sure you leaving having learned something about their town, the Des Plaines Historical Society is a small but dedicated museum focusing on this near northwest suburb of 50,000+. They were in between exhibits when I happened to visit, but the current exhibit on the history of the agriculture is both fun and hands-​on. The art lining the walls was done by local students and was well done, and they had a genealogy section and a research section with small libraries as well.
