Love, love love their chocolate donuts! My dad has been going here since before I was born. I would recommend to anyone! Make sure you get their famous chocolate donuts!

Great bakery, fresh breads, donuts, cakes, coffee cakes of the highest quality and freshness. Had the coconut cake and it was absolutely delicious, moist cake with creamy frosting and plenty of coconut. It was just as pretty to look at. Worth the trip and get there early or order ahead it’s a popular spot and they sell out quickly.

I bought a cake for a family celebration. I liked that I was able to walk in and buy a cake right from the bakery. My entire family is crazy about sweets. The icing was fluffy and not too sweet.

The best Bakery in the area! The service and selection is outstanding! This is very similar to real European Baked goods. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent bakery. Everything they make is great. One problem. The Help is terrible rude at all times. Here’s and example. I had an order for today I called it in and asked them to mark the boxes for example chocolate donuts. sweet rolls. so I knew what was in each box. I was delivering them to different people. My husband went in and asked the girl if the boxes were marked. She said I don’t know I didn’t pack the order. My husband asked her again if she could check and her response was the same. I didn’t pack the order. She should of been more polite and willing to check. this has happen many times. My husband will no longer go in to Cumberland Bakery

Cumberland is probably the best bakery around. The chocolate covered donut holes, donuts, sweet rolls and pastries are the best! They also do fantastic savory items as well. They make fantastic quiche. I order for a lot of parties and people are always impressed.

Great sweet rolls with a variety of flavors to choose from. I recommend the coffee cakes, spaghetti buns and holiday themed iced sugar cookies. Shop is always well stocked. Great prices. Bring cash!

The best chocolate long john’s, chocolate cinnamon rolls and chocolate donuts. My husband is fussy & he says that they outdo everyone with the frosting & chewy dough on the long john’s & cinnamon rolls. We actually have to order early on Sunday mornings or they run out of chocolate items. Yummy!!!

I love this place. Specials can change daily depending on what’s made. You can place orders ahead of time. Folks are nice… seriously, you couldn’t ask more from a local baker. Donut holes kill, the pecan loaf is fabulous, and everything I have had there tastes like it should. Love them. Central Bakery is okay — nothing wrong at all. But this is better.

Been here several times to pick up donuts for work. Staff is very nice and donuts have to be the best in the entire world. Always a great treat!

I have been here in the past for Key Lime pies. While a bit on the sweet side, they are good and high quality. Went back this weekend to go another one and the worker behind the counter said I would have to «special order» the pie. I told her that I would like to do that for pickup in a week. I was told they could not accommodate me and it would have to be for some other weekend. I guess it was not convenient for them so I would need to change my plans. Poor service, I will find another bakery that can accommodate me rather than the other way around.

One of my co-workers always brought in a box of sweet rolls from Cumberland Bakery from time to time. They are absolutely delicious! It’s better to purchase them at 6am in the morning when they open, and get these hot out of the oven. It’s not as sweet as you think; filled with a somewhat thick sugary mixture in a croissant-like bread; flaky and topped with more sugar bits and almonds. It is a great breakfast item eaten with a cup of hot tea or coffee(hot chocolate would be even better!); you could also eat the leftovers as snacks throughout the day. Either way, these are really good and that’s all there is to it! +sweet rolls: D

This is the absolute BEST bakery I’ve had the pleasure to discover since I was a small child(and I’m 57 years old!) because it is independent and every day that they are open everything is made FRESH, from scratch and boy, you know it on the first bite. They seriously rock! Long live Cumberland! You are #1

I love this bakery! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I go there for their brownies and their pecan coffie cake. The brownies are so moist and have just the right amount of frosting on them are to die for. The pecan coffie cake is chock full of pecans and glazed perfectly, no skimping on pecans here. I always get the round one or heart shaped one. The owner is there and always greets you with warm friendly smile. I live in Lake Zurich but travel there when i want the best coffee cake. They have plenty of parking too. Great place!

If you ever wanted a loaf of bread, no not the kind you can squeeze to resemble a walnut sized dough ball. This is the place for you. Sauerkraut Rye with seeds, Whole Wheat, Butter Crust White. Oh and then there’s always the cinnamon raisin for a treat. I haven’t event touch the really sweet stuff. Sweet rolls, Éclair, Brownies, Pies, Donuts, Poppy seed Coffee Cake, Cookies with a smile on their face. What a fun and delicious place!

Specifically I like: The fresh baked rye bread(seeded & seedless), the pastries, muffins. I recently tried a different item from this bakery, a bacon/swiss quiche, I’ve never been much of a quiche fan but the quiche I bought was devoured by our family, simply delicious. We tried the spinach/swiss quiche the very next day & it too was delicous. Lots of folks seem to be going to dunkin’ donuts or Panera, I’d highly urge you to give this bakery a try. I know I keep going back.

I can only judge one thing about this old world bakery, and that is the glazed donut. But my goodness, the glazed donut! The large, doughy ring had just a little extra chew, which was perfect, and it was topped off with a sugary glaze that was complementary without being overpowering. Simply put, it’s one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. I’d go back just for that donut, but everything else looked wonderful as well — it would be hard to just pick one thing again. Plus the other customers were chatting about how good the other donuts were, so maybe I’ll just have to get a dozen. And a pie.

Cumberland Bakery is hands down a winner. The chocolate donut holes are to DIEFOR, since they use real fudge to cover them. Cumberland’s pastries are also seasonal. They make a really awesome key lime pie in the Summer and a great plum tart in the Fall. Also, their cookies are a huge hit at any party. I especially enjoy Cumberland’s chocolate and raspberry filled cookies. You really can’t wrong with any of their pastries. Nothing is ever stale and the prices are just right.

YUM! We wanted some bakery goods and were bored with the fare available at OakMill, so I was heading over to Continental Bakery in Mount Prospect when I remembered that this one was in a little strip center on Northwest Hwy and Mt. Prospect road. I’ve never been in but decided to stop. I could smell it when I got out of my car! It is a very small bakery, but they have great coffee cakes, and a pretty wide variety considering the size of the place. Good amount of danishes too and those that we tasted were very tasty. My only complaint is that there is actually too much frosting/icing on their sweets. What I’m dying to try is their breads and when I do I will add my review on those. When you walk in there’s baskets, behind the counter, filled with loaves of bread and rolls… can’t wait!
