I’ve been working in Elk Grove Village for the past 2 years — coming from the Balkan descent I tend to have a high standard for places such as this one. I can assure you this place is FANTASTIC! Great food, Great prices & Good customer service, (it does get packed at times but Nick does his best to accommodate all customers).

I’ve been tons of times at Nick and I’m feeling bad that only now I’m letting you know about this place.
I’m serious guys, I’ve been here maybe 100 times cause the food is AMAZING, YUMMY !!! If you want to try some Eastern European cuisine this is the right place.
I know personally the business owner — Nick, he’s cooking everything (it’s a family business) and he’s doing really really good.
When you get there don’t get upset cause the place is not that big — 8 tables, think about food !!! It’s a small place, quiet and clean.
You can order to go, you can call in advance and just come and pick it up.
Come guys and enjoy it !!!
For 2 years now I’m recommending this place to all my friends.
Don’t miss it !!! Stop by, get chicken shish kebab with cabbage salad and rice and don’t forget the main thing to chicken — Bulgarian ketchup (Lutenitsa) !!!

I stay in Mt. Prospect quite a bit while traveling, and I CANNOT believe I didn’t find this little gem before now… When I say it is the best meal I’ve had in the area, I mean it wholeheartedly. If you are anywhere in the area I would recommend having a meal here, or carry out! The place is small, but the owner was super nice and accommodating. Great spot!

The food is 5⁄5 stars, but the customer service is 0⁄5. I have never been to a place where the staff and the owners have been so rude!!! To the owners: if you see that you can hardly keep up with the carry out and sit in orders then 1) you should probably get more staff and 2) get a bigger place. Yes, the food is amazing, but it is not worth the headache.

Tried this restaurant after reading reviews on this site. They weren’t kidding. Food is awesome, reasonably priced, yummy seasoning, and good sized portions. The owners are very nice and informative of their culture. Restaurant is clean and service is good. Will definitely go there again!

Great food! It is a laid back atmosphere. Little sophistication for the ambiance, but I don’t care about that. If fact, the little pictures on the walls are enough for me to remember I am eating food from proud people that want to share their culture. You will get your money’s worth here!
I can’t say enough about this place. The soups I have had are chicken, lentil, and mushroom are all fantastic, but don’t let the names of the soups mislead you. These are not your ordinary soups. They are complex, rich, full of flavor and homemade. If you get a lunch special it comes with soup.
Eats — I had the pork cutlet — flavorful, juicy, and fresh.
Give this place a try. The food is great.

Simple, tasty, and cheap… I come here at least twice a week. The presentation of the dishes, flavor combinations, everything was just spectacular. It’s an experience like none other. My favorite dinner is the mackerel fish.
All in all, chef Nick does an amazing job. I would definitely recommend all my friends to at least dine at his restaurant once!
