7-Eleven

Well, I never thought I’d write a review for a convenience store, especially since I so seldom visit them, but this 7 – 11 really impressed me. (Oh, that sounds so ridiculous.) Aside from the usual convenience store high prices, I liked everything about my recent experience here. They had the only item I wanted (unsweetened iced tea) in the cooler, there was still some fruit on the shelf despite the late hour, and everything was very clean. I saw no sticky puddle under the slurpee machine, no trail of crumbs from the donut case, and no wads of gum stuck to the counter. Instead of the stereotypically rude convenience store staff, the clerk asked me if I needed help with the door (probably because I am massively pregnant). I didn’t, but it was so nice that he asked! So much better than the typical, «Don’t let the door hit you on your way out, thanks for wasting my time,» inflection so common in these places.
If you’re going to hit up a convenience store, this is a pretty good one to try. They seem to keep the shelves stocked, clean the place regularly, and value customer service.
