Kind of a hit or miss. Most times it will be great. But it seems if you come near the end of a lunch rush you might get old dried up chicken. Price is great for thw portion sizes. Service is very fast for a lunch service

Eh. I had high hopes for this place due to a friend’s raving reviews, but I was not impressed. I’d give it 2.5 stars if I could. Food was fast, but the fried rice was uninspired, the general tso chicken was salty and not nice white chunks of meat, the crab rangoon were just okay, and I only ate like a third of my meal, which is unimaginable when it comes to me and Chinese takeout. I’ll pound a meal meant to share in 8 minutes flat. Overall a forgettable experience.

You get a lot of food for your money. The crab Rangoon was a little over cooked. The Broccoli was flavorful and crisp. The sauce on the broccoli beef added great flavor. They added an ingredient that reminded me of bamboo that I didn’t care for, but they were large enough to eat around. Cleanliness was about average. Maybe a little more time needed focused on cleaning the counter front.

This place is the epitome of Americanized Chinese fast food: it’s fried, quick, and cheap. In short, it’s the perfect spot in Des Moines for«Chinese food.» The prices of the entrees are inexpensive. From my ordering experience, the prices have ranged from $ 5.50 to $ 7. For that price, you get a nice serving of the entrée, a side of fried rice, a small fried spring roll, a small cream cheese rangoon, and a choice of soup(usually«Hot-Sour» or «Egg Drop»). The food is always hot and made fresh. I really don’t like eating in the dining room as it is small. I prefer ordering my to go. Also, the food reheats nicely in the microwave(and doesn’t become soggy and mushy). The reason why you should go to Tsing Tsao east is because the staff is always friendly. I’ve never encountered a rude staff member. They never show signs of stress even during their busy lunch/dinner times.(Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for their«sister» location on Fleur Dr/Southside where you are treated like an inconvenience and cut off by the staff taking your order).

Good quick access to Chinese fast food when you are in a hurry. This is the only Tsing Tsao I’ve been to at the time of this review, I know there are others around town. I’ve had their food here a couple of times and they ate pretty good, obviously Chinese fast food quality dishes, but very tasty. Their staff members are friendly and they are able to bring the food out quick. It is never too crowded in here, and there are many people who just cone in to pick up their to-go order.

Basic fast food Chinese styled food. Chicken and beef are good bets, the shrimp has not always been the best choice.

Not amazing but pretty good. Fast and cheap. Wonderful egg rolls, soup, and chicken lo mein. Always a good choice. Small and cozy but sometimes busy as this is a popular spot on the east side. Great place to bring the kids and not spend all your money.

Nothing special, except it’s cheap, it’s greasy and it’s Chinese fast food. I like the general tso’s chicken, and the low mein. The best part about it is it’s cheap even for dinner. The egg rolls and crab rangoons are extra greasy, best ordered for take out. Pair with tall boys, preferably high life.
