Just came for our first time and loved it. Double berry smoothie with whey and flax, and PBJ smoothie. Both are delicious. No complaints! Good prices too– I think $ 10 for both. Love it and we will be back.

I used to love coming here because the smoothies are really good, but the customer service sucks. I wish more places had better customer service. They won’t see me again. I’ll make mine at home.

I think the owner of this place should spend more time offering good fresh juice instead of defending a terrible product on Unilocal.
My review stands as is… the juice I purchased was watery and flavorless, definitely not made the same day. The owner claims they pre-​make juice every day? That means they must toss out a bunch of unpurchased juice at the end of every day? I know few companies who would toss money in the trash every day instead of reusing it when no one would know… but even if they do toss it out, that’s really wasteful.

Carrot juice was good when I had it first time, but they ran out of carrots last time. Refused to freshly squeeze the wheatgrass because they, «don’t have time for that.» Smoothie was too thick.

I love the Juice Company! I am so excited that I recently found this store. I have to say that I’ve only been once, but my experience was great, and I’m excited to try more of their products. I’m going to knock out one of their juice fasts, and I’ll be sure to update!
The employee at the counter was very friendly, my mean green juice tasted really fresh and full of vegetables, and he was really helpful when I asked about their juice fasts. They even have a display so you can see exactly what you’re getting. He was really friendly to other customers, too, offering samples of juice and just generally educating people on the store.
If you haven’t watched Joe Cross’s Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Netflix, get to it and you’ll understand why I was excited to find this store in Des Moines!

I’ve never had a bad smoothie or bad experience at The Juice Company. My hours are a little unusual and I live a bit out of the way, otherwise, I’d probably have a smoothie every day.
The staff has always been very nice and helpful.

You ever feel like you need a pick me up? Or your body is just craving some natural goodness? You should stop by The Juice Company I usually order the Green Nirvana with a energy boost. Green Nirvana has pineapple, banana, orange juice, wheatgrass, honey and I get a extra banana instead of yogurt.
I also like to stop by and get shots of wheatgrass. If you are looking to a do a juice cleanse, check on their website for the different options they have available!

Pretty good, local juice store. I went here for the wheat grass shots after work. I had been there twice on my way home from work. On both of my visits, I had the wheat grass shots, and they were OK. Both times the staff just reached into the refrigerator and pulled out a container of wheat grass juice for the shots. I was really disappointed that the wheat grass shots were not freshly juiced. My only other experience with wheat grass was at Fresh Café, who juices their shots on-​demand. So, I originally was planning to give this place a (2) star rating, but I decided to try this place out in the morning instead of the evening.
On my morning visit, I was pleasantly surprised. My wheat grass shot was still poured from a contain from the refrigerator, but the wheat grass was much fresher. I spoke with the owner, Sylvia, who said that they do juice wheat grass fresh throughout the day but stop towards the evening.
I also tried some of their own juice recipes: mean green juice and green hornet juice. Both were good but the mean green juice is more intense.
I also really like their business hours. They open at 7:30 AM during the week so I can get my wheat grass fresh in the morning before work!
Good place for wheat grass. If you want really fresh wheat grass, go during the morning or daytime.

I always get the Strawberry Mango smoothie and it is fantastic every time, with minimal wait time and at a good price

Juices and smoothies are good, expensive as expected in any smoothie store, but not worth the bad service. The owner is rude and short with customers. She is also rude to her employees. On one occasion, a friend and I ordered large size smoothies (can’t remember the exact oz.) and received the small sizes. When we went to the counter to correct the error, the owner harshly asked «Well what do you want me to do about that?» Not in an apologetic, «sorry we messed up» way, but as if this was our problem and not hers. In the end we received $ 5 smoothie vouchers (less than the cost of the large smoothie). Have not returned since.

I have never had a Juice/​smoothie shop within walking distance of my house. This could be trouble! I recently moved and I’m now within Sunday morning walking distance to this fine little juice shop!
Loads of bananas and apples greet you by the door as well as grass growing in the window!
Now mind you I could get one of those grass juices, but you know what I would rather stick to sweet treats like a strawberry banana or even better yet, (not healthier yet) a banana and peanut butter smoothie!
They do have vegan powder protein options which is great, and shall be noted! They also carry Cliff bars, and M and M’s if your feeling down! All in all a cute little shop with in door and out door seating, nice staff, and lots of choices to try over the next 50 years of my life!

I’m hesitant to write this considering the owners attitude towards customers.
I’m in the service industry and the way you get repeat customers is to have a good quality product and exceptional customer service. They have neither.
I was in this establishment on ⁶⁄₂₀. I have been ordering a gal of juice per week. Saturday I ordered it again with 2 other beverages. The 2 beverages were the same yet when tasted they were completely different. Mine was soooooooooo sweet that I through it out.
A lady who seemed to run the place was there. I wanted to complain but didn’t feel it would do any good. This person was rude to her staff and never once looked at any customer in the eye nor did she acknowledge them in any way. No greetings, no thank you, no nothing.
I will not be returning to this watered down inconsistent business.

I’m a big fan of the national chain Jamba Juice which I don’t believe they have here in the Des Moines metro. My date and I were shopping in the area and needed a healthy boost for the afternoon. My first impression was «that’s a lot of wheatgrass growing» and «cool fruit colored Tolix stools». I ordered two shots of wheatgrass for which it was my partner’s first time having. She quickly shot it and muttered something about grass clippings for which she then used both orange slice chasers. I ordered a carrot orange juice that was good.

LOVE IT!!! I’ve tried jucing on my own… not a fun experiance.
The Juice Company allows me to enjoy the jucing lifestyle without the headache. It’s economical, quick and delish! Good for those who want to eat better or lose weight.

The smoothies take an incredible amount of time to make, forget if your party has more than two. It’s about ten minutes per drink. The woman who owns this place was also very rude last time I stopped in… will not be going back!

The Juice Company has a wonderful assortment of juices and smoothies – I’ve yet to be disappointed! Whether you prefer something decadent and milkshake-​like (peanut butter and chocolate) or low-​calorie (light strawberry mango, which is made with a frozen banana rather than yogurt), the menu has something for you. Ask for the Green Nirvana minus the yogurt if you’re looking for a smoothie that’s similar to a green juice. This blend includes wheatgrass, pineapple, banana and orange juice. I keep reminding myself to come back and try the frozen yogurt solo, too. They have lots of fruit flavors that sound delicious!
Service is usually fairly quick, but never overly friendly. I’m sure they’re just busy and have their mind on the work they need to get done! The Juice Company is a nice addition to Des Moines.

Im sorry to give you two stars but the super green juice wasn’t super green. They added so much water and very little greens to the blender… Probably one of the worst green juice Ive ever tasted. Oh did I mention that she added WATER in the blender twice???

Came here for the first time recently because I wanted to find some fresh juice and smoothies. I love the décor inside. It’s bright, vivid and filled with growing wheatgrass on the shelf, along with an abundance of fresh fruit on the counter.
Ordered a dairy-​free strawberry smoothie, along with a dairy-​free strawberry banana smoothie for my partner. It was really tasty and I would come back again. It’s very refreshing to have a place here in town that cares about 100% natural drinks. Next time, I want to try the fresh juices along with some of the other unique smoothies (e.g ones with peanut butter)

I have been here twice and tried the green smoothie with wheat grass both times. Super clean with an espresso bar next door, which I meant to try. I have to go back here in the summer to sit on the patio. As for the smoothie, it was healthy and as tasty as one would expect of a wheat grass shake. I was looking into trying their juice detox at some time in the near future.
As for cons, there is no place to really sit and enjoy your juice. The atmosphere is not very welcoming. Most people seem to pick up their drinks and leave.

Had a taste of the mean green smoothie… not sure I could get through the detox of drinking 3 of these each day, or is it four?
Wheat grass, frozen yogurt, Dr. Oz cleanse or their version of a cleanse can all be found for a small nominal price.
And if you just want a regular smoothie. order up!
Nice addition to DSM market. My understanding is that this under new management and things are looking up.
