Billy Mack’s Coney Shak

If you think it is a good idea to eat at this place then you also think it is a good idea to walk into a port-​a-​potty and take a long and lasting smell.
This is probably one of the poorer coney restaurants that i have been to. The chili is nothing impressive in fact Hormel makes a better one that comes in a can.
I ordered the Johnny Genes Coney which is a coney with cheese. You get it with chips not fries which is the best thing to go with a coney. The bun that it was served on was stale and a lack of any cheese. I also ordered a cup of chili see comment above.
Do your self a favor head a few blocks down the road to Teds Coney Island it is much better and a Des Moines Classic. Whoever thought it was a good idea to open a Coney place down the street from a well known Coney place has no business sense.
But if you want to be kind to yourself you will skip both these places and go to George the Chili King. Hands down that is the best place for a Coney in Des Moines! Because I live by Teds I will go there when I am to lazy to go to Georges.
