We’ve been here three times and it hits the spot every time. Comfortable, great atmosphere — amazing breakfast! We love it!

Eggs are a tricky business. They are often too dry or too runny. These were perfection! Price is amazing. Great food for a great price. Your typical diner feel. Guy should come here from Diner, Drive-Ins, & Dives.

I went for breakfast Saturday morning with my family around 9:30. It was not very busy. The food was good, but way to expensive for ‘diner breakfast food’. Most like will not go back as there are many more restaurants closer to me and much less expensive(around $ 9 for ham and cheese egg white omelette) and similar in taste.

Basic diner but very clean, Sunday breakfast and not overly crowded. Try the Carmel French Toast and they have specials on the board. Fresh muffins also. Would try lunch is our schedule fit for it as well. Unassuming strip mall on 28 in Derry, works just fine.

The Buffalo fingers were tangy and satisfying, the fries were well cooked, and the apple cranberry pie was out of this world. I love diner food and the South side never disappoints.

I used to visit this place all the time but I have to admit they have gone down hill over the past few months. The eggs always come out overcooked and the homefries are always very hard in the middle or burnt. I still go here just not that often.

Went there this morning and I left thinking«meh.» Other than the metal washer that I found in my homefries, this place was just okay. It’s kind of hard to mess up breakfast though. Nothing special, but not the worst place in the world. Our waitress was nice enough, but she did keep changing her story on where that metal washer came from, which was so bizarre. First it was a washer from the potato bag… like, what?! Then it changed to the potato peeler. I can’t picture either having a metal washer this size in it. Besides, the homefries were red potatoes so they weren’t even peeled in the first place. But whatever, things happen, I get it. I’m just glad that it wasn’t in my three year olds meal!

My husband and I have driven by this establishment several times. We are on a staycation this week and wanted to hit up some local businesses. This is your usual diner setting and crowd. The server was nice and attentive. The menu was what you would find at a typical diner. Unfortunately the food was a little salty for my taste.

awesome food. excellent service. best breakfast in derry. specials change daily. fresh veggies for omelettes. home fries with or without onions. only improvement would be to make homemade toast instead of the standard toast they have. they always have a good selection of dressed french toast and pancakes. lots of omelette and Benedict type breakfast choices.

I’ve been here a handful of times — great service and great food! My favorite has to be the banana caramel french toast — YUM! The omelets are great too! It’s also nice to see the owner come out and interact with the customers and make sure their food is good. Sometimes when you go in during a holiday they have the place a little extra decorated — it’s cute and shows they care! Definitely a must try!

Hardly cooked fries, bland eggs, wrapped slices of American cheese, not worth it.

Even though it was a busy Saturday, we were seated quickly. The menu has many great breakfast and lunch options. We tried the Big Boy and Cinnamon swirl pancakes. My son, who is an extremely picky eater, devoured the pancakes and sausage. The pancakes tasted like yummy cinnamon rolls… Devine! We will definitely be back. This is our new breakfast spot!

We ventured out to South Side Diner on Sunday morning for the first time. It wasn’t crowded and we were able to get a booth right away. Food was good, coffee was great. Lots of people with kids that were loud but that isn’t the restaurants fault. We will be back, nice little breakfast spot!

I used to frequent a more popular diner in the Derry area, that is until I went to South Side Diner. The service is always prompt and pleasant; I also enjoy walking in the door and avoiding the long wait times. During the week and later in the weekdays there is no wait, and on a Saturday or Sunday morning, I have never waited more than 10 minutes. It is a nice change when going to breakfast. The food is consistently delicious and they have specials that change every week which allows for you to try new things. Coffee is always fresh and hot, and the noise level is surprisingly low for such an open space. Definitely a must go if you are in the area and looking for a good, reliable breakfast spot!

A decent new diner opened up in the former Crow’s Diner in Derry. The place is very clean and has some nice renovations. The menu is traditional with some flare such as lobster Benedict. I had a pastrami and swiss which was good and not greasy. Had the homemade raisin toast which was tiny small. I checked on on Unilocal and got a free coffee. — Sweet! Overall I would return to try out more menu items.

1st off, the Crow’s Nest & Jay’s Hillside are no more! The South Side Diner is very good! I’ve had several meals there, everyone of them delicious! The serving size & the prices are reasonable. The service is welcoming, and true! It’s the kind of place where, after a visit or two, you could & chat with the folks you’ve met. It’s that kind of place. I rate it 4.5÷5, nobody is perfect. It is in a strip mall(Hillside Plaza) with parking for all customers, you don’t have to worry about parking(you want to be on the right side of the mall).

I am so happy this place got a new life to it. I have eaten here a few times in the past when it was called the Crow and wasn’t remotely satisfied. The new owner and staff are extremely friendly and offer great service promptly followed by delicious food. The diner has a very nice offering on the specials menu and every dish I have tried here has exceeded my expectations. MUSTTRY. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere.
