My favorite ice cream in the area. M & M is the go to as they use mini candies that don’t freeze up to the extent of the larger ones. Pricey for the serving sizes.

We went this evening and it was busy! Always a good sign. They got us through quick and ice cream was wonderful! Tad pricey but 4 dollars isn’t terrible when it tastes so good!

Standard ice cream bar. Good size portions, efficient service and great variety! They also do ice cream cakes. About as good as it gets in the area.

The ice cream here is to die for. Rich and creamy and the serving sizes are huge! Highly recommend.

We live three thousand miles away and the mister still talks about Moos. We were shopping at Bittersweet Blessings in nearby Chester when the clerk told us about Moos. We quickly drove over only to find they were closed for the season. This was the first week in October. After chatting with the owners we were offered two free dishes. Hubby had vanilla. Mine was a to die for coffee. We’ll be in Boston next year in early October but will come in late September to hopefully catch them open. The ice cream was smooth and creamy and just plain scrummy.

Good ice cream. Sucks we can’t come back since we were in the Manchester area only for a few days.

Excellent service. We asked for explanations of 8 favors, asked to try another 3, and then then we accidentally ordered the wrong thing and our server smiled and was completely delightful. We ordered 3 sundaes and 2 cones, and all of the flavors were delicious. I recommend the Orange pineapple ice cream.

Who knew there could be so many flavors of soft serve ice cream? Almost as much variety as there were choices in regular ice cream and frozen yogurt. Of course now it seems silly to think vanilla, chocolate and twist are all there could ever be! Loved the pistachio soft serve, though I think I’ll stick with standard ice cream for that. I missed the crunchy bits of nuts. We stopped in here on a warm afternoon after a trail ride. Managed to find an off peak moment… Seems to come in waves. One second very few people around, then you blink and there’s a crowd. Ordering was a bit haphazard. There are three sets of windows with order and pickup windows for each set. People got confused when a staff member popped their head out one side instead of the other depending on whether they were taking an order, or passing out some cold treat. Did they miss the«Order» and«Pick-Up» signs? Staff didn’t always help, because they might deliver your order out a pick up window that was not next to the order window you were at. We just hung back and waited to see where our ice cream would appear. Seemed a bit like Whack-A-Mole, without the whacking. Just slurping. :)

Enjoyable homemade ice cream stand offers indoor and patio seating with a scoop of creamy fat for your summer pleasure. Clean inside, plentiful service, cash only, and many flavors of hard ice cream as well as decent variety of soft serve, sorbet and sherbet. Hefty price for small portions, and they were adamant about not splitting the Kiddie or Small portion into two flavor half/scoops like many other shops do. Worth a stop if you’re near downtown Derry and longing for a cold, sweet treat.

We make it a point to stop by Moo’s at least once or twice each summer and have never been disappointed. Yesterday we had our first Moo’s ice cream cake(coffee Oreo) for my husband’s birthday and it was FANTASTIC! Everyone loved it. A small cake was easily enough for four of us with a bit left over for us to enjoy tonight. I already know come September, when my birthday rolls around, this cake will be there!

My family and I drive from Manchester to come here. We pass many other shops to get here but it is always worth the drive. The ice cream is very good. The down side is that the lines can be long and it is cash only. They have an ATM but who doesnt take cards these days… Pretty annoying.

Expensive but delicious we go for sundaes almost bi-weekly in summer and they’re sooo good. Staff friendly!

Best ice cream place in the area! Very friendly staff and a great selection of flavors. They only take cash though, so make sure you hit up the ATM before going. I’d suggest the M&M ice cream.

My baby niece and I stop here all too often. The girls here are trained well or are just happy people… even when the line winds around the building! The ice cream/slush/shakes rival all the big name ice cream guys that we know. The long lines don’t lie… pretty darn good stuff!

We went to Moo’s because it had gotten rave reviews in the best of NH magazine. I am not sure who gave it such great reviews but our experience was less than awesome. First, they do not take anything but cash so be prepared or you will have to pay their $ 2.00 service charge at the ATM inside. The soft serve vanilla was void of taste. My 12 yo wouldn’t even eat it so that was wasted money. The other person in my party had the cotton candy and she didn’t like it, she said it tasted weird. I had a scoop of black raspberry and a scoop of their cherry ice cream. The cherry was *very* good but the black raspberry was not. Their hot fudge is very good. The young lady that helped us was very nice and the staff seemed to be hard workers, the place was clean inside and out. Overall, this place is nothing to rave about.

They always hire well-focused teen girls who truly strive to do things well, fast and accurately. I’ve never(never) had any order messed-up by the people who work there. That’s why they get big tips from me. The ice cream is rich(so high milk fat), very flavorful and huge portions! I’ve never had a negative experience there. If the stupid Harleys roaring by on the street would have the decency to throttle-down a bit, it sure would be nice. But they all want to be seen and heard. I hate Harleys… love Moos!

Unbelievable icecream! If you like homemade, fresh ingredients, this is the place for you! Just love Moo’s — prices are reasonable and the choices are great. Stop here if you are in the area… cash only as most icecream places.

You know that one place in every town that everyone in the town swears is «the best(insert food here) anywhere around»! Well, that’s what Moo’s Place is in Derry, NH. Don’t believe me? Well the majority of 4 and 5 star reviews on Unilocal are from people in where else? Derry. First, the atmosphere and layout of the place is bizarre. 3 windows stretch the length of the building, but the eating area inside is roughly the size of my kitchen at home. There are 5 tables and it can fit about 18 – 20 people if you’re squeezed in tight. The service is the typical high school kids, they don’t pay attention to you unless you wave them down. It’s not untypical, but it’s annoying. The prices are high and what you get for it is not much. My first time here, I reminded the girl I had ordered a medium cup after being handed what looked like a kiddie size and was told, «That’s our medium». As for the ice cream itself, it’s just bad, and I mean very bad, in the sense it really doesn’t have much flavor to it. It’s just like other ice cream as in when I’m eating it, it has the coldness and texture of ice cream, I just don’t taste anything more than a hint of what it’s supposed to taste like. This is a consistent thing each time I go. Also, there is a weird soapy aftertaste to the ice cream which makes me wonder how or with what they clean their machines because they obviously aren’t doing a good job. Unless Palmolive is a secret ingredient, there’s something wrong with how they make it. I’m glad to see Hodgies getting the comparison’s with this place because Hodgies is an institution known throughout the area, this is just the Derry townies place to be proud of because there isn’t really much else in Derry in terms of food period, much less quality. Don’t buy the hype, it’s not worth your time.

Moo Me. Great ice cream — good variety — great service. I’d go during a snow storm if they were open year round.
