Not a bad place to go, food is good better then most restaurants in area if staying local. i love steak tips and would pay the price they are asking but the quality of the tips never consistent. just needle them more to make tender or buy a better quality(my only complaint about the food).the reason I am posting is last night 2÷6÷16 the kitchen got backed up and told staff to not sit anyone for a bit even with plenty of empty tables stood for hour when told 10 min. next time just sit people tell them the situation and make money on customers buying cocktails till kitchen gets back on track.

Stopped at the Derry exit to grab a quick bite on our way to Vermont for a ski weekend. Walking into Derry Pizza & Restaurant, we were expecting somewhere to grab a slice of pizza or Greek salad to go, nothing more. What we found was a full-scale home style menu(with a to go counter as well FYI) and booth seating as well as a happening bar area. They have pizza, salads, and the likes but then they also have full dinner meals, a delicious Reuben sandwich that I can attest to after personally ordering, and a full bar as well. We sat at a high top for two. Our adorable waitress was extremely attentive and friendly, made recommendations and suggestions and apologized unnecessarily when our drinks were slightly backlogged at the bar. Since it was a Friday night, the bar area was full of energy, the hockey game was on all the televisions, and plenty of couples seemed to be regulars. Great food, great atmosphere, nothing fancy. Definitely planning on making another stop at this exit again soon!

I’ve been going here for lunch 1 – 3 times a week for the past 4 or 5 years while at work. My family and I have been here for supper many times. You can not get a better meal from more friendly people anywhere. The kitchen staff do amazing, good straight up tasty food. The baked haddock is awesome and the portions are large enough to be considered large, without sacrificing quality. The meatball parm or ravioli parm are delicious. The waitresses are quick, friendly, and efficient. You can’t beat Derry Restaurant, we went tonight and it was $ 63 for 4 people and we ate well: 1. Haddock Newburgh(delicious) 2. Seafood platter(all fries seafood) 3. Antipasto salad 4. Grilled Cheese and fries 5. Italian wedding soup 6. Seafood chowder All served hot and delicious

I can’t say enough about this place. My girlfriend and I tried it for the first time and we were treated like we were the only customers in the place, even though they were packed. The food and drinks were top notch. I’m trying to think of something negative but I’m at a loss to find anything. Bonus, you get to talk to the great people that make your food.

Not sure what’s happening to Derry Pizza. It used to be great. I called in an order tonight: Cheeseburger & fries with Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise, Mustard and Catsup. I asked if they had packets for the condiments. «No.» OK, then can you just put them on the burger? The lady said she’d fix a little container of each one. I picked it up and then asked for extra catsup for the french fries. I was told that catsup for the fries was already in the carton! But when i go home, there are only 2 tiny packets of catsup(hey you told me you didn’t have packets). Anyone who eats fries knows you need several packets — one is never enough. I put the one packet on my burger and the other on my fries. :-( Which gets me to the burger part… yuck! The meat was very poor quality and had absolutely no flavor — no spices, no juices, no meaty flavor. The only way I could tell it was a burger was it looked like a burger and there was gristle in the meat. The bun was not warm or soft. Warm is a nice plus but the bun should be soft, not hard like a bagel. The tomatoes were green house. All in all the burger was terrible. And the fries, well, they were old and no salt at all, and as I stated, no catsup to speak of. Of course, Derry Pizza doesn’t have any salt packets to give you. No pepper. No napkins either. And plastic forks? Forget about it! Maybe the in house dining is better but DONOT go here for take out. It’s apparent they don’t want take out business. But what about the food? It’s very bad and eating in can’t fix that. TWO thumbs down…

My family and I come here often, the food is always consistent and the variety will please everyone. There are a lot of regulars and the staff greets each one warmly. The décor is dated but the restaurant is spotlessly clean. It’s a good reliable family place. The bar area is nice and the drinks are reasonably priced. We have tried everything over the years from fried seafood, to pizza, and the specials are always a great deal. I tend on ordering the gyro plate and my daughter is hooked on the coconut shrimp. Their mashed potatoes and gravy are the real deal and on a cold night are perfect with your dinner. I had delicious manicotti on our last visit and I think their eggplant dishes are perfect. If I could change anything I would do away with the iceberg lettuce salads and packaged dinner rolls. I prefer different lettuces and I think with their pizza ovens they could tun out some great garlic knots or simple flat bread. Just a suggestion. I recommend this place to lots of people and the staff is terrific.

I’ve been here 4 or 5 times over the past couple months and have been pleased every time. I’ve tried something from every menu category. The pizza is a medium crust with just the right amount of toppings, cheese, and sauce. Onion rings are cooked well with nice flavored batter. There are daily specials too. The haddock Newburgh was a special one night and it was absolutely delicious. I hope it’s on the menu again soon. The steak and cheese sub was great too and the steak was lean not fatty. Big dessert menu too. The restaurant has always been busy however the service is quick and friendly. I’m becoming a regular here now.

Exactly what you hope for when you find your local restaurant! Excellent fish specials, very hearty Italian fair. Their prices are great and their atmosphere is versatile: they could sue drinks after work, family gatherings, or a business lunch. I enjoyed a pretty romantic dinner there, by the fireplace, with our superSweet server, Renda. I’m so lucky to work right across Broadway, but on 102 it’s safer to drive — lol!

The food is always excellent when I visit this restaurant. My family travels an hour to get there, so I always find a reason to visit this end of the state so I can get my meatball fix. Yes, I travel all that way for meatballs. I’ve had their steak tips, their scallops, their nachos and everything in between — and it’s all delicious, but I always circle back to the spaghetti and meatballs. Their meatballs are tender and flavorful, and look like they weigh at least a quarter pound(you get three!) I always have leftovers because the portion size is so generous. My family of five can order beverages, appetizers, entrees and dessert for around $ 85. If you’re lucky, they’ll have on hand the Boston Crème Cake, which is worth saving room for. Yes, the place looks a bit dated, but the bathrooms are spotless and the staff are always friendly, even when they’re busy. I would highly recommend trying Derry Restaurant and Pizza.

This is a go-to-spot for a good burger. Their food is very good. We don’t hesitate to order anything on the menu. The baked stuff scallops are terrific. Their menu is large and not«diner» or «pizza parlor» the dining room is large with a bar area so we have never waited very long. The staff is very friendly and very down to earth. A great local restaurant.

This has become our standby for supper out. Decent food with friendly service. Their pizza isn’t New York or even Philly quality, but it’s tasty. The clubs are great and I enjoy the ziti special(w/mushrooms, meatball, sausage, and Acela cutlet. Could stand to be updated a bit, but it’s comfortable for our family. Speed is kinda their only real«con.» They could benefit with a few more servers and a small menu to get the kitchen a chance to keep up when they are busy. All in all, we like Derry Pizza and Restaurant!

My hubby and I came here last night not knowing what to expect seems like in our area not many good paces to eat. The décor was a little dated but very clean and inviting. Service was great and the food was awesome. I had the haddock sandwich great big portion flaky and white reasonably priced. Hubby got New York sirloin mashed and scallops all cooked perfectly

Yes! Yes! Yes! Food is great. Amazing Greek salad. Great fried shrimp with super coconut sauce. Delicious quiche pizza. Large bar as well. The service is a little slow but nothing awful. What the waitress lacks in skill she makes up in personality.

Stopped here with the family on the way through town. We ordered the Scorcher Pizza, a plain cheese pizza and a Greek salad. Our server was very nice and quick. The food was pretty bland overall. The crust seemed like it was previously frozen and had almost no flavor. The sauce was ok and there was plenty of cheese. The restaurant itself was pretty run down. I would not recommend this place.

I have been going here pretty much my entire life, starting way back when they were in their original location where Juliano’s is. I love the pizza. It is a delicious greek-style, with a tangy sauce that smells so good on the ride home that I am tempted to pull over and have a slice. Their steak and cheese is wonderful-super tasty, and I am not sure what they do that makes it taste better than everyone else but it is great. Their greek salads are excellent. The people that own it could not be nicer-they will make you feel like a family member the minute you walk in. Dining in can be a looong experience, but you get a bread basket while you wait(at least last time I was there I did). Very popular establishment with loyal customers for a reason!

Have been eating here for years(20 years) Recently though the quality of the food and the portions have been declining Recently had the worst pizza I have ever had. pizza has been very inconsistent for the last year or so… Called back to let restaurant know of issue, but they never offered a replacement or anything Have talked to other long time customers who also have had bad experiences and stopped going back. I will also not be going back Too many other good places to go Very disappointing

Sometimes the elderly have it spot-on. They like vintage cocktails, classic cars, gambling, music of the 1940’s and comfort food enclaves like this one. Now that I live in the Boston area, I have a choice of all kinds of cuisines and presentations and I love having that option. But sometimes you just want some good old fashioned comfort food. That’s where Derry Restaurant comes in. It’s no-frills family dining with generous portions of good food and a huge selection to choose from. Normally I get the chicken tenders, which appear to be made in-house and not out of a freezer bag like at many other places. With said tenders you get a side(mashed, baked, fries or rice) and a small side salad that comes with some rather tasty house dressing(like a creamy Italian). When I was younger and had experienced less of what the restaurant world had to offer, I always said you could judge a lot about a place by the quality of the bread they gave you. I still feel like that’s true, as D.R.‘s is some of the most delicious you’ll encounter. Pizza is a big draw here, and they definitely make a quality pie with a large selection of toppings, though the pizza isn’t Earth shattering by any stretch. That red sign out front — my gahd! If you recall the«Chicken Roaster» episode of Seinfeld, you’re on the right track. Just pray you’re not seated near a window that looks out at that thing.

The«Scorcher,» a pepper-laden extremely hot pizza is unusual… but if, like me, you love hot food and you’ve got not other excuse to get off of I-93, or to otherwise stop in Derry, it’s worth it. Place has the best pizza and subs in Derry… I will not purport to speak about any of the other meal selections, since I haven’t tried them… but it’s an excellent stop for these staples all of the time. Regular one, two, three, and four topping pizzas are reasonably priced and while the specialty«Signature,» pies are a bit more expensive they provide a variety that is unusual in this part of the state. Subs are a bit more expensive and not as good a value; however if I was recommending anything I’d get one of the steak subs. I prefer mine on Syrian bread… it gets gooey but provides a better texture. Not that I’m around here often… but when I am, this is the only place I’ll go for a sub or pizza.

Still a great local feed and watering hole. Since it was a such a nice night, I was racking my brain to find a restaurant with a deck, so we could eat outside. We had to wait a few minutes inside at the bar before our table was ready. I had the«seafood plank» which was shrimp, scallops, and haddock broiled with twice baked potato. It was decent. Dennis had a pizza which he devoured. It was busy, even after 9:00 on a Friday evening.

Ian W. had dinner here the other night. Ian W. got here around 8:30PM and was quickly seated in the main dining room, which had a homey feel with rows booth seating. There’s also a separate lounge area. From where I sat, I could see the kitchen area. The menu offers pizza, pasta, appetizers, dinner entrees, surf & turf, salads, sandwiches, and the daily dessert tray. Beer and wine available. I started out with a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on wheat with Fries and pickle. The sandwich was grilled to perfection(buttery) with white cheese and the fries were golden brown. For dinner, I ordered the Lasagna which came with a side salad and warm rolls(premade). The Lasagna baked in a casserole dish, had layers of noodles, cheeses, meat, sauce and mozzarella, was very good. I got a Cannoli to go, which had a rich sweet ricotta cheese filling with chocolate chips and chocolate syrup drizzle. Overall, a good delicious meal and good service.
