Absolutely horrible intake guidelines.
I was refused to be assessed by my doctor when starting signs of hypomania due to the loss of a beloved family dog and near anniversaries of lost parents for myself and my wife.
Without asking me any assessment questions she advised me to go to the ER which I eventually agreed to.
At Griffin ER it took 4 hours to be given a basic assessment, they had to have me pee in a cup before even talking to an LCSW. If I had talked to a LCSW I would be been in and out in 15 minutes.
I wasn’t ready to be admitted which is incredibly important for psychiatric.
The LCSW clearly saw it that I was not a threat to myself or anyone else.
