We had more shopping to do for the Victoria Day long weekend so we needed a place to stay the night. Hakka Wife booked this in advance through last minute and it was the only inn in the area that was under 100 smackers. Checked in at around 8PM with an older gentleman at reception. It was a small, cozy place. He was bald, with a white goatee, very serious and quiet. Make sure you do not slam/swing/bang the screen door as there is a note on the outside. We were gentle with it. Here are some unfortunate cons to the Pink Fountain Motor Inn. Getting into our room, the smell of old smoke hit me. Although smoking is not permitted in the room, somehow the smell just stayed on the walls, I don’t know from who or from many years ago. The pillows were very hard and very big/high. I had to sleep between both pillows in the space so my head was lower. If you put your full head on it, it would feel as though you are still sitting up! The sink is outside of the bathroom. Lastly, the free Wi-Fi was only working for Android and BlackBerry but not iPhone/iPod. The Apple products could not find a connection which was unfortunate. We did not bother telling reception. And now the pros. The actual bed is okay and you can adjust the temperature of the room. There is a fridge and a microwave for convenience. Pink Fountain did it’s job to let us stay. Would we return in the future? Maybe.
