I am in a tizzy as to how to write my review. The A-​OK status goes to the actual workers. The corporation, well family it may be and it has proven itself to be family owned with no direction.
I contracted with Cortese for Handyman Services, as opposed to construction. My initial consult was with an individual who ultimately left the business. After writing proposals and revisions, I was left clueless as was the company and the HandyMan who appeared at my door. Nothing made any sense and costs were odd.
My work has been done. So many things were not as they should have been. Again, no disrespect to the individual doing the work. Too many things got lost on the way.

I have had a lot of experience with contractors and have never had a worse experience. I think they are an over priced, arrogant, money hungry group of people. I feel their contracts are shady – make sure you turn it over– there are additional conditions on the back of the contract – even though you sign the front. Also if you decide to work with them, make sure to get costs itemized because they change things to suit their needs, not the customers. They do not honor contractual timelines, but want payment before they walk out the door. Shop around – don’t believe their false promises.

EXPENSIVE!!! I had Cortese come out to quote a basement job that I needed studs (no walls) put up to partition off 900 square ft into 3 rooms. I was to provide the lumber and my quote from Cortese was for $ 8000! I had it quote by another contractor for $ 1100…The $ 1100 contractor did a great job!!!
