Widmayer Derek DMD

I absolutely HATE going to the dentist. I’ve moved a lot, and also changed insurance, so I’ve probably seen at least 20 different dentists in my life, and almost every experience has been outright miserable. Dr. Widmayer is hands down the best I’ve encountered, and also the most compassionate and understanding out of all the ones I’ve seen.

When I first moved to New Jersey, I was afraid to find a new dentist because I have such tremendous dental fear. I was getting ready to fly back to Colorado to visit friends, and thought I would see my old dentist at the same time, when someone suggested Dr Widmayer to me. With a great amount of trepidation, I tried him, and have never been sorry. He has always handled my nervousness with sensitivity, and has been very gentle when delivering my dental care. He had a lot of work to do to return my mouth to a healthy state, and I was able to get through all that with no trauma, emotional or otherwise! His work is top-​notch and my teeth have been in fantastic shape for the last 5 years. My son, who was traumatized by his former dentist, now loves Dr Widmayer and refuses to see anyone else. His staff is always excellent, his hygienists are very gentle, and I could not be happier with my dental care. Oh, and I have had no problems at all with his front desk and insurance.

Dr. Widmayer and his staff are incredible. My entire family has been going to Dr. Widmayer since he began practicing and it has always been a terrific experience. I have recommended him to others and they have been pleased as well. His work is always top notch and his staff is great with helping to navigate your insurance and clearly explain what costs they will bear. Another plus — his staff is very good with adults/​children with disabilities. The other day I heard my now adult daughter talking with a friend who was complaining about going to the dentist and how they hated it… My daughter said, «Really? I love going to the dentist!» If that’s not a testimonial — what is?

Dr. Widmayer and his staff are true professionals — and they’re also really nice. I’ve been going here for over 10 years, for everything from routine cleanings to complex procedures. He is an artist, and his hygienists do a great job with a scaredy cat like me. Just got back from a cleaning (no cavities!) and thought I’d write a review. :)

Doctor Widmayers office was extremely unprofessional. I am new to the Denville area and I have honestly never experienced a more unprofessional and irresponsible office in my life. I have actively maintained good dental hygiene throughout my life and so when I moved to the area, I immediately looked for a new dentist. My experience at this office was certainly a first for me. I found the staff to be disappointing, unprofessional and dishonest. I received very poor dental care and have since found a dentist with whom I am extremely pleased.
