20 minute wait for drinks. Mine was so sloppy on the outside of the cup it was all over my hands and the car. Poor soul with a pre-order from the app never stood a chance. Will not stop here again.

Every time I’ve been by this Starbucks it felt like grand central station which can be expected of most starbucks at certain times of day, I suppose. The baristas work hard and my drink is always correct and the few times it wasn’t it was corrected. I only have two points to make: There are two types of employees at this Starbucks. The slightly disgruntled impersonable ones who don’t seem to know how to make eye contact and the ones that who seem to always maintain a more cheerful helpful attitude which I know is hard to maintain in any customer service position — but it is noticed. With that I have to make a special mention of Angela. She brightens the whole place and you can see the other customers also appreciate her smile and candor. Keep it up Angela, you brighten a long rainy work week for this lady :) This is the only Starbucks that doles out straws like they are barbeque sauces at McDonalds. There are no straws at the coffee bar area. Are straws worth something now and I just didn’t know? I googled it and nothing came up. Nothing! I feel like a child asking for a straw so I may drink my five dollar drink. Or maybe I just don’t want to talk in the morning until I’ve had my caffeine like most human beings ;) What’s up with that Denville Starbucks? Write back!

Standard Starbucks and it is pretty busy, at least when I’ve stopped in. It has both front(the bigger seating area with lots of windows) and back seating and the usual stock of food/drinks. Wood panelled and dark near the back seating area, but it makes for a nice place to come in out of the cold and warm up with a caffeinated drink.

The best Starbucks around. Staff knows me and has my order ready for me. Will and John are the best.

Food: I had the slow roasted ham & swiss breakfast sandwich on a buttery croissant. Delicious for a quick morning bite. Brew: No alcohol here but Starbucks in Brooklyn, NY are serving alcohol beverages now.

Great friendly service and good selection. Baristas are very friendly and accommodating. More than one time, I have seen real«a» abusing the baristas because they were asked to repeat something that they asked for a thousand miles an hour in a very noisy environment. Come on people! you are getting a cup of coffee and you are certainly no royalty. I think people just love to go to Starbucks to vent their frustrations on these poor baristas who make minimum wage and have to take their abuse!

This Starbucks has kinda gone down, I come here because it’s really close to my house but there is another starbucks on route 10 in my town it’s about 5 minutes out of my way, but at this point it’s almost worth the extra trip to go there. The people are not nice they act like your bothering them getting coffee from here, if your in the area and want starbucks go the extra distance and avoid this location!

The kindest service and very well made drinks! Starbucks is a great american chain and I love the drinks here! Sometimes you need extra caffeine and u get it here. Ask for a two pump tall chai to reduce sweetness especially if you get soy.

Service is fast and I go here about once a week but I am giving two stars because they will never make a pour over! They never have french roast in the pots and when I ask for one the staff looks at me like I have 6 heads and says they can’t because there is no open bag? Wtf. Other starbucks will make pour overs no problem. You are a coffee shop! How can you not be able to make me a cup of coffee? So frustrating.

Why is it so hard to find a good cup of coffee? I’m sorry, But the coffee here is hit or miss. Sometimes it’s strong and other times it’s like hot dish water.

I go here weekly in the summers. At first I hated frappes because they tasted more watery-like but the barista told me to try a caramel frappé and it was surprisingly amazing. Same thing as my everyday latte I get a Dunkin but more richer and smooth. I think Starbucks overall is overpriced but the Denville Starbucks has a great appearance, calm chill/study spot, and gets busy often. The employees always greet you and offer promotions. Gave it four stars because I paid $ 17 bucks for 4 drinks, all smalls and I thought that was a little bit cray for coffee.

Drinks, I’ve never had any issue with mine. Seating, normally more than you’d expect for a small Starbucks. Line is long often. Trash needs emptying more often. I think most of the staff spends their time trying to keep up with drink orders instead of keeping the rest of the place in check. Don’t use the green stoppers on the counter, we’ve seen them get knocked onto the floor and put right back in the container, ask for a fresh one.

–inefficient cashier –ineffective supervisor –2 teas took at least 10 minutes I stopped in last night to get 2 teas. There were a few people ahead of me being kind of dumb but I noticed the interaction with the barista ringing them up and figured maybe she’s new. There was a dude on the bar and a chick starting to breakdown the back line and clean for the night. I get to the register order a grande china green tips and a grande vanilla roobois tea. I had to repeat the order twice but whatever she turned around and started setting up the cups. She rings me up and it’s $ 6.10 for 2 teas… this seemed steep to me but it is Starbucks so I didn’t say anything. Based on how high the price was I only had $ 5 and a card so I asked her to ring $ 3 in cash and put the remainder on my card. This proved to be a very difficult task for her… I could tell based on how she rang it up that she put in $ 6 in cash and was going to ring .21 on my card. I could have douched out and just let that happen but being a former Sbux partner I took the high road and let her know that her till was going to be off if she rang it that way. She clearly did not understand and after much back and forth, cleaning barista finally came over to help. Keep in mind at this point the line is backed up at least 5 – 6 people behind me, and you can say this is my fault but splitting a $ 6 bill between two forms of payment is not brain surgery. So she voids the transaction and rings me up again… guess what this time my bill was only $ 4.60. Something is not right here. IDK what I was supposed to be charged but that’s a big difference and had that been rung up in the first place I would have been able to pay all in cash and not have this whole debacle take place. The thing that irked me about this the most was that not one of them was apologetic — completely blank faced in all interaction with me. Next time I should just let your till be off, a few write ups and you’ll either learn or leave. I don’t blame the partner who rang me up, I obviously have no idea how long she’s been working there but she doesn’t know what she’s doing and that’s up to her supervisors to train her. At 5pm cleaning is not priority #1 when you have customers waiting and a partner that doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Driving through Denville, I saw the familiar window decals from the corner of my eye. One cartoon double-take and what may have been a legally-questionable lane change later, I entered my caffeinated haven. I didn’t have time to check the reviews until after I ordered, and by the time I got my drink, I realized they were spot-on. It was fairly empty when I got here, but it still took considerably longer than usual to get my latte. The staff didn’t appear to be slacking or lazy; they were just a little slower than I’m used to. My drink is perfect, and isn’t that what really matters? Weird observation: the parfait/sandwich refrigerated shelves are empty; instead, there’s a sign that says to ask for items. Maybe it’s broken? I got here right before a mad rush of people arrived, so I claimed a great loungey sofa by the front window. There’s ample seating in here, & I’d probably stop in again if I ever find myself driving through Denville again.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not one of those Starbucks haters. I like Starbucks. In fact, I even worked for a Starbucks for a while while I was school, making it to the illustrious position of shift supervisor. My problem is not with Starbucks as a chain: it is with this location in particular. This store, for some reason, does not seem to have a clear sense of efficiency or team-work. I’ve had cashiers not call or mark drink orders; most of the baristas don’t check the line to see if they can get drinks started; simple drinks take forever; and I’ve seen workers wiping down a clean counter while one barista scrambles to take care of bar drinks and Frappucinos. It’s gotten marginally better in the last few weeks, but the place is still run very amateurishly. I still go to this store sometimes. It’s convenient to my commute, so… eh. I suck it up. But I always leave wondering when I’m finally going to give up.
