I was skeptical at first as I am with all groupons. I arrived not really knowing how to explain what I wanted and was pretty sure Wafaa would tell me what all other stylists have told me since I moved to Denver. I am always told that they can not do the color I want because my hair is too dark for the hi-lights I want. The color and cut was exactly what I have been wanting for the 3 years since moving to Denver. I am very bad at communicating what I want but she managed to replicate what I wanted and envisioned. Next apt scheduled for March =]

I was looking for a new stylist and decided to get a groupon to give Wafaa a chance of being my «go to» stylist. First mistake… Don’t ever use groupon for hair. Wafaa was extremely nice and pleasant to chat with and asked all the right questions at the beginning of the appointment to understand what I like/dislike about my hair and to find out what I want. I was going from long hair to much shorter(second mistake when going to someone you’re not familiar with). Since the cutting was mostly in the back of my head, I couldn’t see what was going on as she progressed. In the end, she gave me a hand held mirror and turned my chair. I was shocked with how hacked my hair was. I felt badly saying anything because she was so nice and I didn’t know if perhaps I was over-reacting in my mind do to the drastic cut. So, I just said thanks. I even tipped her, and went on my way. When I got home I looked again and it was really far worse than I even first thought. I took pictures and sent them to friends who agreed that it was TERRIBLE! My other half came home and was shocked also. I’d post pictures here, but I don’t think it’s an option. Wafaa followed up by asking me to write a review to which I sent her an uncomfortable email saying I hate to even mention it because she was so kind, but that I had to tell her that it really was a bad cut and I ended up having to crawl back to my original stylist to fix it, of course shelling out big bucks, in addition to already paying Wafaa. I asked Wafaa for a refund to which she agreed and apologized. She asked for my address to send the check. I sent it to her and she never sent the check. She did continue to send reminders that I needed to schedule another appointment which each time, I said I’m waiting for my refund. The reminders stopped coming and the refund check clearly isn’t part of the plan. If she really just wasn’t going to give a refund, she should have had the gall to say so. It’s better to just be honest. B. S!!! I will never be foolish enough to leave my «go to» stylist again.

Wafaa did an incredible job on both the cut & the color! I have very long, thick & curly hair and have had some very bad cuts in the past(who hasn’t?) so I was a little worried going to a new person. I was able to get an appointment same day, which I was thrilled about! We chatted for quite a while and I was comfortable she understood what I was looking for. The outcome was better than I ever would’ve expected with a new person and I absolutely love everything about my hair! Side note– the map displaying on Unilocal is way off. She’s located in Solera Salon 8770 East Arapahoe Rd Suite 207 in Centennial. Sadly, I’m only out here for work otherwise I would’ve found my new favorite stylist!

I was a bit concerned — 2 reviews(1 great the other awful) but I gave Wafaa a shot and I’m glad I did. I have very fine straight hair but a lot of it(even though it’s short). It’s hard to find someone who can cut it and it look great right when you leave the salon. Wafaa listened to me, was professional, didn’t rush me and produced great results. She is part of Solera Salon and each stylist has their own«room» — I liked the privacy and would most definitely recommend her.

The first rule of being a service provider is to be pleasant and professional. You won’t get that here. This woman’s disposition is that of an old school Catholic School Nun. Her excuse is that she is pregnant. She came right out and told me that’s why she behaves this way. Wow – I understand that pregnancy can be rough, but it’s really unprofessional and insulting to all women to excuse your lack of professionalism and human decency because you’re pregnant. She offers a groupon under a different name, which is very shady. I’ve seen her name with 3 different salons and none of the names are registered with the BBB. I’m not sure what she’s trying to pull, but, it seems like some sort of scam or a way to avoid accountability. I didn’t go through with the treatment because I don’t pay to be insulted and treated poorly. She refused a refund for my groupon. There is something very odd going on with this woman. With so many places to get a haircut, why go to someone with serious mental issues?

Wafaa did a great job cutting my hair. She spent time talking about what I wanted from the haircut and studying my hair. I have been told I have bad hair. It is not easy. With my lifestyle, I am looking for a cut that can dry naturally and still look good. She accomplished this near impossible task. Wafaa is located in the Solera Saloon. And you can look online to see her open times.
