This place is my favorite pitstop anytime I’m downtown. Whether you’re hungry or thirsty, the market has something for you. Amanda and Colleen are outgoing and friendly. Try their sandwiches and their spring fling.

Called 2 days ahead to order the Spring Fling cake 8″. The lady seemed rushed to take my order. I asked if they could put a Happy Birthday sign toothpick thing perhaps and she replied, «ugh you are already ordering a small cake and you will take off the fruit then.» Okay then… it was graduation weekend so I know it was a busy weekend but dissapointed the cake was dry and not fresh tasting and the frosting did not taste like usual cream cheese. More of a pasty taste. Ended up throwing part of it away and for $ 40 that was dissapointing.

If you are a first time visitor, the key is to take your time and walked around this vibrant, large seating area once before you decide to order. There is no table service and there are different counters for different options. One for coffee, one to order sandwiches, and another one for hot foods and salads. There is a separate counter to pay next to which there is display of pastries to choose from. The choices are extensive and in the end I picked the vegetarian sandwich on French roll, a choice I was more than happy with. They took their time in taking orders because it was lunch hour I guess. The sandwich however was made pretty quickly. There are lots of seats available. I went with the suggestion of many other reviewers and ordered a slice of the spring fling cake. Price was steep at 7 $ a slice(almost as much as the sandwich) but OMFG… What deliciousness ! The 3 layered cake with cream cheese frosting is filled with generous amounts of fresh fruits such as mango, kiwi, blueberry, strawberry to name a few. My oh my I am still dreaming about it! Legitimately mind blowing! I scarfed it down so fast that i forgot to take a picture lol

So many pastries! I fell in love as soon as I walked in this place. The Market has several sections each boasting their own options for food/drink. After glancing over the sweets section I went to the coffee bar, ordered a coffee and sat outside. The cakes are pretty pricey but really tasty. I wasn’t a fan of the chocolate bar sweets they had but besides that everything was good. They have a credit card minimum of $ 5 so keep that in mind when ordering. The workers weren’t friendly but the really tasty treats they served made up for it. Check this place out for dessert in Denver.

I was going for a walk with a coworker and wanted a quick breakfast and coffee and they recommended this place. On walking in you’re immediately at the coffee shop. They have a huge selection of pastries and local coffee. I had the sour cream muffin which was huge, but also quite good. I also got a small chai, which wasn’t the best, but was definitely better than a lot of places. In back they had a deli as well as what looked like a small shop with fruits, vegies, and some different chocolate bars and other specialty items. I just came in the morning, but it was good enough that I’d like to come back again and try out their deli as well.

RUDE woman answered the phone and yelled her answer at me when I politely asked a question about cakes. Really?! You can answer me as politely as I asked you. That’s not ok and it’s sad that upon reading the other ratings rudeness is a topic that comes up a lot. I used to think the wait was worth it considering they take forever just to serve you or take your order, but I’ve never been yelled at before. That was uncalled for. I don’t care how stressed out you are you treat me with respect. I didn’t yell at the girl on the phone. I didn’t deserve it back. That girl should be fired. I worked in customer service before and the key to it is to never let your customers see that side of you especially when they did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment.

HUGE selection of food, made to order food, pastries — yes those kind of PASTRIES — and coffee that doesn’t come in a cardboard cup. I’ve never lived in NY City, but I imagine The Market is similar to what you might find in larger more sophisticated cities. The kind of cities with Jewish delis, all night dives, bagel places. The Market has that kind of vibe. You can come in have a coffee or tea and read the paper or kvetsh to your friends about the week you just had. Coffee is excellent, pastries are fair, breakfasts are gigantic, sandwiches are very tasty, confections should be sampled. Overall extremely satisfying.

One of my most favorite spots in downtown Denver! This street surely hasn’t lost its pearls in the sea of oysters. I love walking down here, especially at night when it’s the most fun! I enjoy the sushi dining like Hapa, Blue Sake, and the bars all across. The parking can be a bit tricky, but it’s overall possible. They have the best view and the most friendliest atmosphere where everyone can go and relax and maybe, even, have a little fun. There’s never nothing better to do than to walk the streets of fun filled Market Street.

I’m amazed at how I missed this spot after having dined in this area and even called it my favorite spot in Denver! Positive side of this is now I’ve found my sweet slice of heaven here too. The Spring Fling Cake! A friend raved about it and when I picked it up for an occasion and tried it later I understood why. First off the whole process of ordering it was easy. I did everything over the phone. Although at this point I found out that they don’t make anything else but this cake for Spring. It’s seasonal? But super famous?! This thing was heavy! It’s loaded with fruits! Although it’s not boring at all. Its still got that sinful taste that I love in a cake. It’s moist and it still tastes deliciously bad :) While on the way in to pick up the cake I walked by people having coffee and just chillin’. I spied sandwiches and more sandwiches! I’m on a sandwich kick recently and I’d love to try theirs! So yeah! They don’t just do sweets but savory as well! This Market rocks!

What a fun place to discover. I was plopped down into Denver with very little forethought, so with a few hours on my hands I set out to see what I could find. I’m not sure what kind of Unilocal search led me here(did I search for«bakery» or «desserts» I wonder?) but I’m glad I made the 15-minute walk from the hotel. What I found was a unique and charming overload for my senses. So much stuff packed into this one space. On the outside, there’s a small seating area perfect for spring days or summer mornings and evenings. And there’s plenty to bring from inside if you want to park it out there for a bit. First of all, there’s a coffee counter near the entry. Housed in a small display case are baked goods, pastries, and other temptations that you might want to grab along with your coffee. Keep going towards the back and you find the sandwich shop. Order from the deli-style counter and get something assembled there to eat inside or outside, or take it with you wherever you might go. Keep going around and you’ll see the dessert counter. I grabbed a decadent and rich German chocolate brownie. It’s big, it’s very chocolate, and it’s covered in chocolate chips. Dense, moist, and more than you can eat in one sitting. There’s also a large assortment of cakes that you purchase by the slice. Red velvet, German chocolate, cream, and a very popular fruit-topped cake called«Spring Fling» that seems to sell quickly. They also have a small ice cream freezer, sold by the scoop, or you can opt for a few more fancy presentations like a sundae. It’s not too complicated, and a nice touch of you want to cool off. The far side on the back is a deli counter, with lots of delicious salads and meats to choose from. Honestly, you could come here time and time again and put together a different meal each time. From brisket to ribs and chicken and sides, you’ve got a lot of options. Scattered throughout are shelves with packaged goods, some for immediate consumption and some more as ingredients. Honestly, with all this stuff going on it really does give you sensory overload, but in a way that gets your imagination moving. You can grab as much or as little as you’d like and put together your own pick-a-path adventure. I wish everything was like a dollar or two cheaper. Some stuff is pretty reasonable, and you’re not getting the cheapy kind of food, but I paid $ 7 for a brownie and you’ll pay more than that per slice of cake. Still, portions are generous and you could probably split most of these items so bring a pal and it takes the«per serving» price down quite a bit. I wish I was here longer, because it’s the perfect kind of place for a traveler. Pop in, grab something quick and easy, and then stay a while.

The hours are perfect! They’re open pretty late. It has snug seating options, but the little wooden chairs and tables are adorable. Be warned that the debit/credit card minimum is $ 5! If you go up the little stairs there will be so many good and snack options: chocolates, cookies, ice creams, cakes, and savory foods including burritos and salads, etc. wide variety! We had the tiramisu and the fruit cake. Delicious! A little pricey. We got a slice of each to share between four people and each piece was $ 7.80. I must say I preferred the fruit cake over the tiramisu because the tiramisu had waaaaay to much cream, the flavor ratio was a bit off. It’s not my first or last visit!:)

I walk into The Market and I feel as if I’ve found some magical world where I walk into my pantry and all the food immediately prepares itself. Okay, so you do actually have to order first… but still. This place has THECOOLEST atmosphere! It’s funky, it’s cluttered, it’s busy, it’s hot, and it makes no sense whatsoever. I love it. Once you actually figure out where a menu is(hint: they’re all over depending on what you actually want to order) and you can flag down a staff-member(they’re always running around) you’re well on your way to having a delicious meal at a surprisingly un-Larimer-like price. May I suggest the sandwich that resembles Thanksgiving Dinner on bread? You can thank me later. I(with my notorious sweet tooth) am a sucker for their desserts. I love the tiramisu. I love the cookies. I love the fruit tarts. It’s all good. And they conveniently place that display case of sugar RIGHTNEXT to the register so you can stare into it the entire time you’re waiting to pay. I wonder if that was intentional. You should order a dessert. I also recently tried the Cocoa Caliente from their café and BOYWASITGOOD! It’s perfect for one of those spring days when Colorado can’t decide if it’s going to be sunny and 80 degrees or snow 4 feet. Order it with some type of pastry and you’re all set for breakfast(or an afternoon snack, whatever floats your boat).

Wow! Talk about HORRIBLE customer service. I can’t believe so many people have had pleasant experiences here. I came here to buy a specific product that I ended up not being able to find. I then proceeded to try to ask an employee for help. I was ignored and then they walked right by me. I didn’t let it bother me because I figured they might have not heard me. I then asked another employee for help. His exact response was that he was actually too busy. Umm. what?! I ended up asking the barista who asked like she didn’t know where any thing was located. Before I talked to her, I watched her get irritated about someone needing almond milk in their drink due to lactose intolerance. What is wrong with everyone here? I didn’t realize that customers were such a burden!

While enjoying the winter season in downtown Denver, our host showed us this little market that has sandwiches to die for. Larimer Square Market offers a wide selection of pastries, food items, deli, sandwiches, and a drip style coffee house. With a large assortment of sandwiches, I had trouble choosing a lunch option to fill my stomach. I asked for some help and was excited to hear about a great bbq chicken sandwich. They were spot on with that choice. Very clean and tasty in my opinion. The price was quite reasonable and the amount of food is filling for a lunch option. Larimer Square Market has a awesome outside seating area that looks over the busy street. Overall, this type of food reminds me of spots in Cali that I love. I believe the customer service was awesome. The food is freshly made and great quality. The downtown location is amazing and just a ++++. I really enjoyed my time and would go back to try other sandwiches.

Service can be meh or great here. So so many types of food to eat here from cakes, sandwiches, coffee, hot foods and they all look delicious. Love: The onion bagel with herb cream cheese. Turkey sandwich(great quality deli meat) with cranberry and cream cheese. Spring fling is the best moist zucchini cake with fruits and creamy cream cheese frosting. Gee, I must love cream cheese!

Cute deli style market that was busy on a Monday afternoon. You’d think with the abundance of cakes and pastries, they’d have at least a few gluten-free and/or vegan options but the only thing GF they had was macarons. Boring! Unlike other places in Colorado, they seemed a bit thrown by my request. Needless to say I left without purchasing anything.

Notes before I start: Street parking… I love the Market, it’s a cute place where the coffee shop is located in the front right when you walk in, if you proceed toward the back and up the small set of stairs, you’ll find what looks like a mini«market.» The spring-fling cake is the most notable item they have here(MUSTTRY) — my family and all my friends order this cake for special occasions(make sure you call ahead of time though!). They have tons of different cakes made each day that you can purchase by the slice! On one side, you can order deli items and on the other you can take a look at what they’ve made for the day in their glass case — it ranges from tuna-salad, pasta-salads, to smothered burritos and lasagna! The order can get confusing if this is your first time, there are signs… but the wait staff will usually let you know where to go to do what! Love this place for brunch, lunch, quick coffee stop! Definitely recommend!

Cute coffee shop that reminds me of a New York deli with way less people. Coffee is fresh and tasty, and you’re greeted in the face by chocolate croissants and banana bread(both were tasty). The croissants are extra flaky, and I ended up getting a good portion in my hair with every bite. I saw a few people with egg sandwiches or egg dishes, but we didn’t see any of those on the menu up at the front. Definitely give this place a walk around before you order!

I didn’t know what to expect going into this place, but I was pleased with what I saw! Right when you walk in, there’s a coffee bar to your left with gargantuan delicious-looking pastries. If you keep going in, you’re present with even more beautifully crafted cakes and pies and prepared pastas, salads, soups, and such available for purchase by the pound. I particularly came here for the Spring Fling cake because that’s what everyone around here seemed to be raving about, and it looked delicious, so why not, right? It costed me nearly $ 8 for a slice of cake($ 7.80 tax incl., to be exact). To be honest, I wasn’t all that impressed with the cake. The consistency of the bread was just too dense and the cream was incredibly thick and cream cheese/yogurt-like. But, looking through other reviews, it seems that the general population likes very, very dense and rich cakes — I just, personally, am not a fan. I did appreciate, though, the large amount of fruit was stuffed into the cake! It also seemed like they used zucchini in their cake — unique! The place, overall, seemed like a nice little place to come and work on your laptop. The service was okay, and it seemed like people were enjoying themselves here. If I’m in the area, I may stop by to try their more substantial foods for lunch.

Great«general store» with eclectic selection of coffees, teas, candies, pastries and pre-made food and salads. I was passing by this store one evening, which is located on busy Larimer Square. Upon entering the store, I was engulfed by the smell of fresh brewed coffee, which was inviting and a place you want to hang! They have a great selection of candies and cold-case with delicious looking pastries… I chose the dark chocolate covered pistachio marzipan, which was delicious. They also make deli sandwiches, have pre-made salads and meals, so I can see this place getting busy during lunch and after work. Nothing fancy, but definitely a place to grab a cup of coffee with friends, read a book, do homework or meet for work. I recommend getting a cup of coffee, tea and a pastry or two… Enjoy!

I did a Google search of «best hot chocolate in Denver, CO» and this place came up on several lists. So naturally, I thought I’d try it. It’s a bummer though, the hot chocolate wasn’t that great. I ordered the Cocao Caliente, which was hot chocolate, cinnamon, and chill pepper. And although those spices were a nice touch, I was drinking watered down hot chocolate. Sad panda… so why is this place even on the list of the best hot chocolate in Denver?

Having heard about it multiple times, I’ve always wanted to go to The Market but never got the chance until today. In fact, I didn’t even realize where I was until I looked up at the coffee menu/sign! This place looks much smaller from the outside than it is inside due to the way shops are lined up on Larimer, but you will definitely gain an appreciation for what they have done with this space. One-stop-shop for coffee, lunch, desserts, snacks, gifts… many of them being locally produced. I love that there are plenty of tables to sit, hangout, or do work(although I definitely think it is better suited for rendezvous conversation than it is for studying). I ordered a piña colada smoothie just to taste, although probably cannot be a good judge of it as I think they ran out of pineapple juice and made it with orange juice — still not too bad. That being said, the gentleman who made it also gave me an extra cup of all the extra he had, which was AWESOME! Overall great atmosphere, enjoyed my time here.

I don’t remember ever having anything(sweet) that’s bad here. That said, I haven’t ordered from the deli department yet. The Spring Fling cake is everybody’s favorite for a reason. Years ago I remember buying an individual lemon cake that looks like a cross between cream puffs and fruit tarts, it was O-M-G delicious. Does anyone else remember having it? I wonder if they still make it… They also offer Italian Sodas here!

I have been here many times now and never had a bad experience. Until today. My mom wanted to go here for Mother’s Day brunch because she really enjoyed it last year. Nothing fancy but there’s no wait for a table because it’s all first come, first serve. There were 6 of us so it was a great option. We all got something hot to drink, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and the lady working behind that counter had to have been one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. It was like everyone in the place was inconveniencing her by ordering coffee. We shook it off and went and found a seat up in the back part of the place. We got our own menus and sat for a while before ordering. We then all got up and went to the counter to order. The gentleman who took our order was nice, just overwhelmed that 6 people were ordering. After telling him 3 times out order, he then decided he should maybe write it down. He finally got it all down and and told one of the chef’s(maybe?) that he had a big order. I think this guys name was John but I can’t be sure. As soon as john saw the order he got mad at the guy who took the order and said right in front of us, «you shouldn’t be taking orders that big.» Ummm, I thought we were at a restaurant, shouldn’t we be allowed to order food? We paid and sat back down and our food came out about 15 minutes later. The rude gentleman that was mad about the ‘big’ order set the trays down and said«you guys can figure it out» in a very rude tone and walked away. The food was so-so, my dads eggs had so much cheese on them he may as well of just been eating a block of cheese. Get the croissant French toast if you’re getting anything. Honestly I’m not sure we will be back. After the service we received and being made out to feel like we were a hassle I’m not sure it’ll be worth it. Bummer, I really used to enjoy this place.

The Market seems to be a one-stop shop for a meal, pastries, desserts, chocolates, and more. I came in about 30 minutes before closing and it was still pretty busy with people eating and hanging out. There is a register at the front and another register where the ice cream is. The different sweets they have displayed got overwhelming. They have ice cream on one side, cake next to it, and chocolates on the other side. They also have different jars of other items laying around and a bunch of other sweets displayed around the market. I didn’t know where to start. I love sweets so I was drawn to that; besides food, I’m not sure what else is in the store. I didn’t have much time, so I chose a slice of the spring fling cake, a box of 4 truffles that was already pre-packaged, and 3 bon bons that I grabbed randomly from the jars. The spring fling cake was good! I’ve had my share of fruit cake, fruit tart cake, fruit flan cake, etc. throughout my childhood and adulthood, and I’m so tired of it. This cake was different, very springy, fitting its name. The fruit choice/combination is different than other cakes I’ve had. It’s a combination of berry, tropical, and sour and sweet. I don’t like cream cheese, so I didn’t enjoy the cream cheese part much, but the rest of the cake was MMM yummy. The way they display the cakes and sell by the slice reminds me of Extraordinary Desserts in Sam Diego, CA. I’ve been seeing this concept more often, so I guess it’s the new way to do it instead of having cut slices displayed like most bakeries. I really like these types of markets where you walk in and find a plethora of things. You’re bound to find something to purchase. With all the restaurants and stores on the street, The Market brings something different to the area.

Tried their infamous spring fling cake and it was absolutely delicious! Love how light it is and the fruits just make me feel a little less guilty for eating(majority) of it in one sitting. Yum! Also tried the Boston crème and it was awesome as well. It gets pricy but I guess all the more reason to restrain myself from getting all the cakes and pastries. The coffee there isn’t bad as well. Nothing too out of ordinary that would make me go ‘wow this is the best coffee ever’. But I would definitely go back for a slice of that spring fling cake!
