Everything about our experience was bad. The hostess was very rude, the waitress seemed like she was tired and just recommended anything. She said the escargot was delightful it was far from that, rubber. the bread was rock solid, the steaks came out over cooked. Ordered medium rare and got well. It was just terrible. Will not return !

We kind of forgot about this place but needed to find a restaurant to eat at before a concert at Coors Field on July 3rd and this seemed perfect since it was walking distance. Well, after we were seated at our table(there were 6 of us), we sat for about 20 minutes and finally asked if we could get a server. 10 minutes later our guy came and filled our waters. They were busy and he may have overlooked our table… ok. No prob. Were easy. Next we ordered drinks. 3 beers and 3 mixed drinks. 45 Minutes into our sitting there he finally took our food order. Still no drinks. 1 hour later, I go talk to the manager — there is a line of people waiting to do the same. On top of that, customers were warning people walking in the door NOT to come in! Holy!!! I’ve never been to a place where it was such a disaster. After I wait my turn, I tell the manager — I know you have a S$&# show on your hands but we need some help here. Blah, blah, blah… She said she would come right over and talk to us. 15 minutes later, she comes over and apologizes and says she is going to make our drinks herself. ok hummmm… We end up getting the 3 appetizers we ordered an hour and a half into sitting there and shortly after, we got most of our drinks(an hour and a half later). 3 beers, 2 martinis and missing a mojito. The martinis came in a tall glass, about 1⁄3 full, no garnish, no muddled cucumber and it was totally undrinkable — it was mostly lime juice and I think I’m still puckered from that one sip I took. What a mess!!! Finally, I got up and found my waiter and asked if he could just bring us a bottle of wine! Manager came over to apologize and thank us for being so nice and got us a bottle of wine. 2 hours in we got our dinner and I have to give them credit for the food being prepared well and full of flavor — It was good and we were HUNGRY! In the end, we were comped about 30% off our tab, we missed the entire opening act of the concert which was a major bummer and I was totally embarrassed because I was the one who planned this night out! Keg Steakhouse management — you were at least 15 people short on a BIG night that was clearly not staffed properly. There were two bar tenders who could NOT keep up. Staff was overwhelmed and people were walking out really mad. You should have STOPPED taking customers and did the apologizing in advance along with some sort of certificate or something asking them to come back rather than sitting people and making it worse. You guys seriously dropped the ball and it wasn’t just our group! You had a complete disaster on your hands and it was handled so poorly that I’m sure this bad experience story will be told over and over again by many of the customers who were there on Friday July 3rd. What a mess! So my advice to others is DON’T come here if you know there is a big event nearby — they don’t staff well. The food is good but if you choose to eat here, be sure to come on a weekday when it’s not busy or you will surely regret it!

I’m so confused. The things that not-very-good-steakhouses might struggle with were spot on here, but the things they(not-very-good-steakhouses) usually nail were just not even close. My husband and I came in late one night – around 10:30. Before we stepped inside we asked the gentleman(employee) outside if the kitchen was still open. He said, «Absolutely! Come on it!» and we enthusiastically took the opportunity to do so. We sat in the lounge area and were given full menus plus bar menus. The service was okay – although the area seemed fairly understaffed. Some of the notable things we consumed: –6 oz Top Sirloin: 9⁄10 — Perfectly cooked to medium rare, wonderfully seasoned. This was spot on. –Nachos: 7⁄10 — Pretty good, but had too many jalapeños. In general, the toppings just weren’t proportionate –Baked Potato: 2⁄10 — Terrible. It tasted like it had been sitting for hours; it wasn’t warm, wasn’t crisp, wasn’t anything except overcooked and chunky. Wendy’s is better. –Old Fashioned: 1⁄10 — How can you even call that an Old Fashioned? There was WAY too much muddled orange and cherry and according to my husband, it tasted more like kool-aid or fruit punch than anything else. I’m not a big Old Fashioned drinker, but he is, and I’ve never ever heard him complain about one before. I recognize that we came late at night, but they shouldn’t advertise an open kitchen if they’re not preparing food, fresh. I was a little surprised that our server didn’t ask why the baked potato was 80% intact and my husband’s drink was full, but c’est la vie! All in all, we were pleased with our protein selections(which were rightfully the stars of the show), but our sides and drinks were either average or sub-par, so I’m not really sure that we’ll be back.

This is an example of how you keep a customer happy. I wandered into The Keg on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. I ordered the prime rib sliders. Some 20 – 25 minutes later I received my food. The bar tender and the bar manager, Bryce, were incredibly apologetic and offered to pick up the entire tab. I let them buy the food, which was good but not worth waiting 20 – 25 minutes for, and I paid for the beer. In my view they didn’t have to offer to pick up the whole tab. It wasn’t their fault that the kitchen screwed up but they did offer which is why I would go in there again. They were pleasant and even thanked me for my patience. If they would do that for some sliders I can only imagine what they would do for a large party.

Great location across from Coors Field. Food was really good great specials but the service was so incredibly slow for the amount of patrons that were there. We were late to the game there were several tables that were disappointed and the waitstaff said it generally took 20 to 25 mins for food to come out… And yes it did. It looked like one waitress for the entire bar.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Came here with my mom on a Sunday called ahead because it seems like everywhere is always packed no matter where you go or what day of the week it is. This was not the case. We arrived and the restaurant was dead. There was only one other party in the restaurant when we arrived. Our reservation was for 630 we arrived kind of late so I was nervous until we walked through the front door. The hostess was friendly when she greeted us and took us right to our booth. Ambience was nice and romantic in a way with a candle and lowly lit lights to give almost a mysterious feel. Our waitress was super nice I think her name was Jessica. We started with apps which were delicious we ordered the Brie cheese which had awesome side sauces I would recommend getting this to start with! Both my mom and I ordered steak with lobster with a glass of some Pinot. The wine was good as usual. The dishes were huge! The steak was a filet mignon and was very large as well as the lobster tail and it came with a side as well. The steak was ok it was kind of hard to chew through I ordered medium and I think I wouldn’t have been so picky if we hadn’t had got the best steak of my life a few days prior so I was comparing everything to that steak. Lobster tail was fine cooked well and always tasty with some hot butter. Service was good maybe because we were the only ones there but food was ok just nothing special and not what I was expecting from a steakhouse.

I’m a little picky when it comes to nice steakhouses. Honestly, I usually just skip them because it’s easier to stay home and not spend a fortune on the meal, however, this place I honestly found worth the price. The food and drinks were delicious, truly, and our server was a very sweet girl. I like the environment and décor and will definitely go back again for another nice night downtown.

Great food, great service, solid atmosphere and not afraid to admit when they messed up. The tuna tartare was huge — easily enough for 3 people to share. From there I had the bone in rib eye which was cooked perfectly. The drinks were strong and well made. Overall everything you would expect from a nice steak house. Previously on another visit we had some issues. I wasn’t happy and they comped the entire meal and gave me enough coupons to come back on the house. This time everything was spot on and the issues I had were fully resolved.

Ok so I always have a great time at the Keg. They have great food and great wine options. I’ve never had a bad experience there. We’ve even done Restaurant Week at the Keg once, and still rockstar. Go hungry as they have super tasty food and you’ll want to try it all.

I have no idea why this place isn’t ranked higher. This place has absolutely stellar steak and service that is almost on par with Capital Grille’s — at a fraction of the price. You can even get a great bottle of wine for only about $ 30 here. That’s unheard of at most good steakhouses! I highly recommend the bacon-wrapped scallops and the filet. They’re also very accommodating about asking for sides that might not be on the menu(like mushrooms).

I came in last Saturday for an early Valentine’s Day date. We shared the Calamari to start and each had a martini with bleu cheese olives. I had the Baseball Top Sirloin and my date had the Prime Rib. Everything was absolutely delicious! A big thank you to our server Alisa, and to the manager Kuomi(so sorry if I spelled that wrong) for handling a minor issue with my meal with such grace and kindness. I appreciate the fantastic customer service!

I love, love, LOVE this place! Had a second visit last Friday eve for a bday dinner. We were greeted and sat right away, and the server Josh was really friendly and attentive to our table. I ordered the Calamari and Tiger Shrimp Cocktail(these are huge shrimp FYI) to start, and had the 7 oz bacon wrapped filet, lobster tail and mixed veggies for an entrée … as usual, everything was cooked to perfection! Top it off with a free dirty martini as my dessert and you got yourself a 5-star meal. Will DEFINITELY be returning soon!

I am a little one sided when it comes to a great steak so Keg was no exception. Made reservations for 6:15 on a cold snowy night in downtown Denver. It must have been the holiday weekend since they were not busy at all. More drinks and great food for us then! We started at the bar and I was surprised to see they had wine from Paso Robles on the list so immediately I went with a Cab Sav. One drink at the bar then it was time for steak!!! I ordered the New York Classic which comes with a wedge salad and one side item. We also had the carpaccio as an appetizer which was pretty good but the pepper was a little over powering. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare just the way all steaks should be, service was great and ambiance was equally as good. There are a ton of steakhouses in Denver and I feel this one is in the top 5.

Delicious and affordable Thanksgiving dinner! We ventured out for our first Thanksgiving meal out at a restaurant and loved it! The atmosphere and service was warm and inviting and the food was a traditional turkey dinner(though you could also order off the regular menu). My husband and I ordered a delicious bottle of Malbec and then we both ordered the Thanksgiving dinner. The portion size was plentiful(I actually had leftovers to take home!)-a Caesar salad and warm bread to begin the meal then turkey(both white & dark meat), mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, roasted carrots, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. Great food, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff made this a Thanksgiving to remember! Other things to note: *Street parking was easy to find and free since it was a holiday. *Make a reservation early on *One of the few restaurants in the area that offers an affordable Thanksgiving dinner(theirs is $ 23/pp and most I found were $ 50+)

My wife and I came here after she had dined at their Canada location. She enjoyed it there and thought we should try it. Parking was easy. We parked at the structure directly behind the restaurant. Parking was only $ 5. There was a 20 minute wait for the dining room. We decided not to wait and sat ourselves in the lounge/bar area. The lounge has a bar with lots of seats and tons of seating at small intimate tables. There are also more«lougey» tables and chairs to enjoy if you go there for just for drinks. The décor is typical of what you’d expect of a steak house. Dark wood panel walls, dim lights, and quiet background music. The service was excellent. We had a male waiter whom I forgot his name. He was very attentive and quick. He continuously apologized for the food saying I’m sorry it’s taking so long. I didn’t think it was long at all. I did notice he poured me a stronger drink after apologizing which I’ll always take. The drink selection is pretty typical of a full bar. I ordered a jack and coke. The jack came in a glass with ice and the coke was in a small glass bottle on the side. I’ve never seen a jack and coke served this way. I liked it because you could add coke to taste. We ordered the mushroom capped escargot for an appetizer. I highly recommend them. They had a nice subtle garlic, lemon, and herb flavor. The texture on the escargot was perfect. Not too mushy and soft. This plate was $ 7. Cheap for escargot according to the wife. I ordered the baseball top sirloin steak cooked medium rare with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfect and rested well. Nice and juicy with a slight pepper flavor. The garlic potatoes were typical mashed potatoes with small chunks of garlic mixed in. This plate was $ 25. The pricing here for main course dishes is between $ 20 and $ 40 dollars. More seem to be between $ 20 and $ 30. Very fair for what you get and cheaper than several other steak houses I have dined at with lesser quality food and service. My wife’s company bought dinner tonight but I would come back on my own dime for a nice date night or business type dinner. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because the coke in my jack and coke was a little flat and the upholstery on the chairs seemed well worn and are in need of replacing.

I picked the Keg to take my honey for his bday dinner. We came in on a Friday night at 7:30 and the restaurant really wasn’t that busy, I was a little surprised. But I didn’t mind, we got to sit right by the front windows where we could watch the people walk by. I like all the dark woods in the restaurant, it gives it a very cozy feel. We enjoyed the mushrooms Neptune as our appetizer. The keg makes my favorite Cesar salad, so I couldn’t pass that up. We decided on splitting the 12oz prime rib. It was the best prime rib I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked, and practically melted in your mouth. And those twice baked potatoes… I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. Ended our meal with the small brownie dessert. Our dinner was fabulous.

Delicious! My first experience at The Keg was during Restaurant Week and I guarantee that it will not be my last. We met at the bar before our reservation time and got some happy hour priced wine($ 6 – 8). As soon as our entire group had arrived, we were seated and our server Tony walked us through the menu and answered all our questions. The garlic shrimp were rich and decadent. The baseball sirloin was incredible. They don’t even have steak sauce on the tables because there is no need for it. My steak was cooked perfectly and the garlic mashed potatoes were divine. I was too full to truly appreciate my brownie with ice cream, but it was quite good as well. When we mentioned to Tony that we were pressed for time due to parking meters and the show we were headed to, he expedited getting our separate checks to us and running cards so that we could leave quickly. That was much appreciated. Tip: The parking garage to the East of the restaurant is $ 10 during the day and $ 7 at night. If you get there just before the rate change, they will encourage you to pay up front so they get the higher rate. Don’t get scammed. The garage around the corner by Wynkoop is $ 6 in the evenings. And, I believe The Keg has Valet Parking Thursday through the weekend.

My true rating is 4.5 stars. It’s better than 4 stars, but not quite 5. Tried out this Steakhouse in Denver on a Friday night. My boyfriend and I were celebrating a little special occasion and wanted to pick somewhere that wasn’t too pricey, had decent portion sizes(I can’t stand when you pay $ 25 a plate and it comes with an 8oz steak and some decorative carrots), and also had great taste. We debated between the Chop House and The Keg. The chop house seemed to have too many consistently dodgy reviews so we picked the Keg. It was a great experience! My boyfriend got The Oscar Sirloin and I got the prime rib. We decided to split the two steaks when our meals came so we could both try something different from there. Pros: Steaks cooked to perfection! Juicy, moist, full of flavor and nice sizes. Sides. The garlic mashed potatoes are hearty and delicious. Compliments the steak nicely. Wine. They have reasonably priced wine by the glass. They offer the regular glass and then a 9oz glass of wine. I got the 9oz glass of merlot for 8 bucks. I only needed one glass my whole meal. I loved it. Server was great, extremely helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is great. Dark modern wood, large open kitchen, nice big booths to offer privacy, and nice complimented lighting amongst the dark blanketed atmosphere. Cons: The service was a little inconsistent. I had to ask for water refills. I also had to search all around at the end of the night for someone who worked up front to get my coat from coat check. Our friendly waiter ended up doing it for me. French onion soup. I am a huge french onion soup fanatic and this was pretty generic. Good taste, but nothing special. Escargot. The Escargot was decent but not as good as I’ve had it in the past. I prefer it in the shell. These were removed from the shell and baked in a lemon mustard seafood sauce, just a little too tart for me(I swear I’ve bought the same sauce from target before.) However it does come with 6 large snails, so the price is right. Overall we had a great visit and will be returning again! The taste was amazing, the price was justifiable because the portions were generous for a Steakhouse, and the steaks and prime rib were cooked to perfection. 4.5 stars!

I was recently in Denver for a conference. My group and I came here based on online reviews. We were not disappointed. Their steaks are succulent and tender. The spice rub used on their steaks is flavorful but not overpowering. They offer the following cuts: NY strip Top sirloin Filet mignon All of the above can be cut in to a variety of different sizes. In addition, they also offer a variety of seafood such as lobster, shrimp, salmon, and arctic char. For the socially-conscious, they have a rotating featured menu that sometimes make contribution to local charities for each entrée sold. Their wine menu features an assortment of reds and whites. Their beer selection is also pretty good. I had a spinach salad with a 6 oz top sirloin. The salad is tastefully dressed with a chardonnay vinaigrette that enhanced the flavor of the dried cranberries, candied pecans, and goat cheese as well as the spinach. The top sirloin, while flavorful and generally tender, did have some gristle. Overall, highly recommended.

I don’t know why I haven’t been back here during my work trips to Denver. Here’s the deal: many steakhouses are pretty similar. Let’s be honest. Only some truly select ones(see: Mastros) really take it over the top. So the Keg, especially for the prices, was great! Really nice inside. Good presentation. Alaskan King Crab legs were unreal. Prime Rib done perfectly with some kick-your-ass horseradish sauce on the side. Loved it.
