I was so let down with my last visit here, this used to be my go to spot and now I’m not so sure. My girlfriend met me here and we were looking around for the usual Irish guy that works there. We haven’t seen him in a while, which is a shame. He really made it worth while to visit here. None the less, here I am with my girlfriend and we ordered some appetizers and some drinks. I usually get the fried mac and cheese and this time I tried something different. I ordered chips and salsa, and they gave me a plate full of chips and a ramekin 1⁄3 full of salsa. I thought initially the salsa would be thick and would go further. not the case. Literally within ¼ of the way eating my chips I had no more salsa. I couldn’t believe I had to stretch the few drops of what I had left. I basically just finished the chips with nothing on them. Not necessarily the worse thing but still not something you want when you’re hungry. We sat for a few more rounds and I needed to eat something else because, well, my chips and salsa sucked. I ordered the chicken tenders. They have to be the absolute worse thing I have ever had at this bar. They were literally like fried crispy pieces of string .Thin, completely over loaded with breading yet still stringy and nasty in texture. The flavor was also off… like old chicken from the fridge flavor. I couldn’t finish them all, I just ended up picking them apart. I left at least half of the chicken on my plate. My friend even commented on how nasty the chicken looked. She finished her beer and I just wanted to get out of there, I couldn’t get the bartenders attention. The meter time is ticking and it really shouldn’t be that difficult to get the check. Well it was, I was ignored by the bartender, and so I had to get up from the bar and stand at the end by the register. Well what do ya know, I’m standing there for a while. I know he’s taking a guys order right there at the register but seriously guy? I doubt it’s that difficult to whip out the bill and hand it to me. I know he sees me, he knows that I’m there, obviously I need to leave and it’s becoming apparent this guy doesn’t care. I finally got the bill and I didn’t hesitate to give him the cash and get out of there. I was able to make my meter, but really I left irritated and disappointed. I want to give this place another try but it definitely isn’t on the top of my list.

The Irish Rover has an amazing happy hour! Every waitress I’ve had has been nothing but excellent. One night, I went to happy hour with a friend and the waitress had few tables, so she sat and joined us in our conversation. She ended up recommending some delicious appetizers that did not disappoint! We love to go for trivia. The rooftop area is a lot of fun. I highly recommend their chicken strips, which are HALFPRICE during happy hour.

Asked for i.d. upon entering, check no riffraff. Bartender acknowledged me imnediately, check. Dlrink in hand within a few minutes, check. Beer initially cold, after 15 min same beer is warm, suggest frozen mugs or I need to drink qiicker. Irish egg rolls and half salad both excellent. Nice friendly environment, cougars galore. Other than the beer that I eventually iced everything was great. I will be back…

I came here with a friend this weekend after we had brought our dogs to the park. We had called ahead of time to make sure the dogs were allowed on the patio. They said no to the roof top(understandable) but had said we could sit on the back patio with the pups so we went for it. It was very quiet back there had the whole place to ourselves, however, it lacked any sort of ambiance. No music playing, no tv’s, the staff were dragging trash barrels through to what was obviously the dumpster, which was fine for us because we were just stopping in for a quick bite. I got an agave wheat beer which was on special for $ 4.00. We split the appetizer sampler which was around $ 18.00. It was well worth the money, it came with spinach and artichoke dip, 4 buffalo wings, 4 fried mac and cheese bites, 4 chicken quesadillas, and 4 chicken tenders. One thing that was a little strange was they charged us $.50 for ranch even though we didn’t ask for it. Didn’t make a fuss over it since it was only $.50, but it was strange. All in all, I will be back. Next time probably without the dogs so I can enjoy the roof top and get a better feel for the ambiance.

Great rooftop, nice atmosphere maybe in an off hour — but on a Saturday night it’s overrun with roided out sportsmen and vacant yuppies doing shots and watching sports games. I used to enjoy it for good food and drink at a place my friends with kids could bring their kids if they need to. My most recent Saturday in Denver was like a frat house and a rugby match in one. Whatever charm this neighborhood had in the 90s and oughts, it’s gone now.

With great happy hour and daily specials, and tasty food and cold beer, the Irish Rover, does not disappoint. They also have a huge rooftop patio with misters, for those hot summer days. The staff are really nice and attentive. I believe happy hour is 3 – 7 and the have buy one get one free beers, wells. You get a poker chip for the second drink which can be used at that or another happy hour time zone. One of the regular bartenders is even from the UK. Weds ½ off wings Thurs is burger day ½ burger night. Fri ½ off fish and chips.

Good beer selection on tap, cordial bartenders and staff, everyone carded at the door without exception, watched the Broncos exhibition game on ample TVs, a fine venue for a reception, great upstairs seating outdoors with a view west.

The bartender doesn’t talk very friendly. Very straight forward and was too lazy to walk my bill over to me. ATTHEBAR counter. And just throws it over to me. Really. I’m only a few steps away. Ugh. Anywho. I was really excited to come here when someone had suggested that me and my friend visit this place for a root top experience. And when i got there, there was no view. Only views of the building across or next to us. Brick walls everywhere lol well what a bummer. Oh well. My drink ended up having a fruit fly in it. Not sure if it was already in there or it just flew in. But at least the guy made me a new one.

I’d say their rooftop is one of the best in Denver. Their view isn’t out of this world, but is pretty good. The real win here is their RETRACTIBLEROOF! That’s right, they have a superdome-type rooftop! Talk about VIP service, felt like I was at a Dallas Cowboys game! I came here one night and it suddenly POURED but within 2 minutes they had rolled out their electric rooftop cover and I was nice and dry. They have a bar downstairs and another one on the patio so getting drinks is quick. Their food is pretty standard pub food — it’s decent but nothing to drool over. The server I had was nice enough and we didn’t have to wait too long for drinks or food. They do allow cigarette smoking on their roof which is a big bummer. They also have a private room/event space on the main floor you can rent out that seems very reasonably priced. I emailed them about it and got very quick feedback and lots of information.

FANTASTIC staff, clean bathrooms, and cold beer… plus one of the bartenders made me some kind of fantastic butterscotch cocktail after I’d grown tired of beer. The bar is laid back, prices are generally right, and it was cool on a hot summer day. Oh, and when I left my credit card on the bar(rookie mistake), they chased us down in the pizza place next door. Nice — thanks, guys! We’ll absolutely be back.

The Rover is our go-to bar. There are three things that make this place great: 1. Their employees. All their bartenders are amazingly nice. We are regulars here, but even when it’s busy, the bartenders always make it a point to chat with us. The owners are awesome too. 2. Happy hour and the daily deals! You seriously cannot beat $ 1 slider night(Mondays) or $ 1 taco night(Tuesdays). And to top it off with $ 5 appetizers and 2 for 1 drinks? Your bill ends up being $ 10 for two drinks and dinner. Awesome. And their food is delicious too. Try their Bookmaker sandwich or their Philly Cheese Steak Eggrolls sometime. Mmm. 3. That rooftop. Can’t beat the view. The Rover, you’re awesome.

We went for the Tuesday happy hour specials. It was $ 1 taco Tuesday, and while the tacos are fairly small, they were delicious! I had the chicken, steak, and pulled pork, and each was extremely good. Draft beers were buy one get one. I had the Breckinridge Brewery Lucky You IPA. You get a token after your first beer and cash in the token for your free one. 5 awesome tacos and 2 pints for $ 10.40 is a great deal.

I came here last Saturday with my boyfriend and had an awesome time! We were coming back from a formal event and looked a bit out of place in our attire. This place is very casual despite the well designed exterior. Also, the waitresses dress casually like the crowd so pay attention to whose serving you or you will not be able to flag them down if you need anything, and you might need to flag them down, this place gets busy and servers look like they are assigned several tables. We got in the Irish spirit and ordered guinness($ 5.50), later I had a well cocktail($ 5). For being an Irish place I really didn’t feel they fit their theme much. They did not put the clover mark in the foam of the guinness, a no brainer for most local Irish pubs. The menu also consisted of quesadillas, burgers, etc. It wasn’t until I got to the bottom of the menu that I saw bangers n mash and shepherds pie. The fact that is at the bottom of the menu makes me assume they are hiding it there because it isn’t very good, but who knows. Very popular place, great local spot, great service and standard prices. But if you are looking for something very authentically Irish, try a different local joint such as Dougherty’s Neighborhood Pub or Finley’s Pub.

While visiting from TX, we checked this place out since we love pubs. My partner in crime and I seated ourselves upstairs. I loved the atmosphere!(I’m a stickler for the atmosphere of a place.) I ordered the Irish Mule and he ordered the Bee Sting. We also ordered the Irish nachos which I loved. My partner in crime didn’t really care for them, but he’s picky so that doesn’t count. Overall, we liked the place and will go again upon a return visit. Now if only I could get one of those copper cups our drinks came in!

Irish Rover, Irish Rover, give me another beer why don’t cha?! My old Minnesotan friend John L., who currently lives in Denver, recommended that we catch-up there since it’s one of his favorite bars. The place is surprisingly large and has two main floors. John took me to rooftop bar located in the back of the patio. The vibe is chill, and I totally dug the low-lights. Our bartender, a laid-back and cool dude from Kansas City, served us well and told hilarious stories about crazy girls that do coke and try to, uh, exchange inappropriate services for free shots of liquor every week. He also expressed his immense frustration with the Kansas City Chiefs and how disappointed in former Chief’s signal caller, Matt Cassel. I feel your pain, dawg. My team is the Minnesota Vikings and our current QB is, uh, Matt Cassel. We drank our fill, had a great time catching up, and didn’t break the bank. In total, we paid a bit over $ 20. Not bad at all. Irish Rover is a great neighborhood bar with awesome staff, atmosphere, and drinks. I would love to return.

The Irish Rover is A-OK in ever sense of the word. It’s certainly not going to win any awards in excellence anytime soon, but it does the trick if you’re looking for an easy Irish bar to drown a few drinks while nibbling on some standard pub grub. You know the routine: fried food, some dips, etc… nothing that’s going to knock you off your barstool by any means. If you’re planning on drinking with a huge posse you’ve come to the right place. This place is huge. I believe there are three full levels of the bar with an expansive rooftop that’s surely a hot spot during the summer months. If you told me they had a legal capacity of 800 people I wouldn’t argue — it’s quite girthy.

The Irish Rover has the best Moscow Mules. Yum yum yum yum yum. They’re currently under construction, but it’s worth popping in to have one of these copper mug babies.

This Broadway bar boasts a beautiful rooftop patio that makes for a fun, summer night! Not only is the rooftop an attraction, this watering hole is huge! All together, the pub includes two long wood-paneled bars, a rooftop and back patio, and supposedly a basement that can accommodate live music. Now — I could be wrong on the last statement as I heard it through the grapevine. I am going to have snoop around a little more to find out. The service is super duper nice and their Moscow Mule is as cool as cool gets when one is really yearning a refreshment during these hot, summer heat. Due to copper mugs gone missing in the past, they do take your ID for collateral when you order the ginger beer cocktail. No problem here. I am happy to pass my license a long for a well-deserved cocktail. As long as I remember to pick it up when I leave. So often, are the nights I leave a tab open. And Irish Rover hosts all the appropriate fun for a night of forgetful moments.
