Wayyyy to expensive. Ordered 3 fire ball and 2 pitchers =$ 50. No joke. This place has changed. I will never go back

This is a Denver staple when it comes to bars. Everyone ends up here at some point in the night when they are out on the town in Lodo. One of the more divey bars, this place offers room to breathe, cheap drinks, and some late night activities, such as pool. The bar is a big circle so you never feel too crowded and can usually squeeze in some place. This is a great place to come if you want a different vibe than other overcrowded and douche-bag driven bars like cowboy lounge, lodos, gin mill and viewhouse… which are fun in their own way on certain nights, but still attract a very different crowd. I would put the giggling grizz in the same category as herbs, star bar, and other similar bars on South Broadway like Badgers. One of the more low-key, down to earth and sports bar-ish places in Lower Downtown.

Service blows. This place could be great. Cheap drinks, ok bar food. But we had a table of 8 during the Michigan v Michigan State game and waited, routinely, 25 – 45 minutes between spotting our server. I want to give you my money, Grizzly… You just need to show up to take it. Will avoid in the future. Football and beers shouldn’t require so much effort.

The Giggly Grizzly is a great place for small groups or a large group if they know you are coming … We have been in here a number of times for their Wednesday $ 1.50 burger night. It is always a good time whether its pool, the Giant Jenga game, or a real jukebox. The drinks are at decent prices sometimes hard to find in LoDo. Since burger night is popular, be prepared to wait as it can take a bit, but definitely worth the wait. You add on tots, sweet potato tots, garlic wedge fries and more! This is not an upscale bar, this is more like a locals bar or even a dive bar. If you come in with your expectations in line you won’t be disappointed!

We were let in 15 minutes early to enjoy some beers before a baseball game at Coors Field. Awesome customer service that made us feel like regulars. Played punk rock and ska music — which definitely made this a comfortable place for my husband and I. We will definitely return when visiting Denver!

Came here with friends as part of a birthday party bar crawl. As I didn’t feel like drinking, I decided to try out their menu. Unfortunately, 80% of the food listed on the menu was not available as they had run out. That’s a first. Was the food that awesome that they would be almost sold out of everything by 7pm? Sadly, no. I decided to sample their sloppy joe, onion rings, and pork carnitas tacos. I only took two bites of my sloppy joe before pushing it aside. It was way too salty. Sloppy joes should be on the sweet side, not salted to death. The onion rings were okay, but here is where they should have added some salt and seasonings to the batter. The tacos were pretty meh. They didn’t drain the carnitas, so it was a watery fricking mess. They were also pretty bland. I don’t expect much from bar food, but this was pretty bad. I suggest you only come here for drinks. Our server was nice, the atmosphere laid back, and the other customers weren’t your average LoDo frat chumps.

Poor service, food is just«eh», jukebox music is angry. Nice location for a beer before a baseball game, tho.

Black bartender needs to take a chill pill. Saw him jump over the bar and aggressively throw out a guy who had not done anything but ask another patron why he tried to steal a jacket. When the caring patron tried to explain he was not heard at all. Turns out bartender and thief were friends. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I’ve been here so many times and still love it. Reasonable prices, games, good service, clean restrooms, great crowd. I used to go a lot more as a single lady. Now we go for some of the great fundraisers GG sponsors.

This place is a pretty solid bar. They make great cocktails but nothing too special there. They have a jukebox so people tend to put on some great stuff(read: backstreet boys and nelly) I’ve always had good service when I’ve been there so nothing to complain about there and the people that frequent it are typically pretty cool. Also, if you wear a bear coat/costume they’ll give you a discount– I know from experience.

A great place to go and grab a drink in downtown Denver that’s inexpensive. Easily one of the better places to go in LoDo. No lines to get in, no cover and cheap drinks. A fun place to come with a large group of people and enjoy a night out in Denver.

Spent New Years Eve here and had a great time! They had a live DJ, good music, good beer. Danced all night! I went back and played jenga the weekend after NYE, very polite staff. This bar is a good time!

Love the Grizzly, just do not know why the acting Bouncer(I think he might be a co-owner or manager the way he was acting), Jeff Dew, was dropping«N-Bombs» left and right. He was probably drunk, but that still is not an excuse to be using that type of language… especially with a black bar tender working there serving me at the same time. I will still go back, and it did not seem to be used in a hateful way, but it did make me feel uncomfortable when I am sitting there trying to have a drink with a few friends on a weekend night and«Jeff Dew» is standing by the door talking very loudly to his buddy, «N-word» this, and«N-word» that. Good Bar, NOT a good look for Mr. Dew. Heads up everybody.

I like the giggling grizzly a lot it’s the closest thing you can get to a dive in the area … Especially on a weekend night when you don’t wanna wait in line or take your earrings out or some dumb shit like that it’s the place for you … Just go in a get pretty prompt service and chill out … Play some pool if you want or big jenga

The Giggling Grizzly is one of my favorite bars in LoDo. They are always ready for the crowd that is eventually going to show up… especially if you are there on a big sports day! They usually have pretty good specials… both drinks and food. We showed up on a Wednesday night and it was $ 1.50 burgers with $ 1.50 Rolling Rocks… Can you say hellz yea!(I know, I’m sorry I just typed that… but seriously hellz yea!) Okay, shout out to some of the best bartenders around… JEFF, MANNY, MARKANDMIKE! You guys seriously make the hard ass job of being a downtown bartender look easy. I’ve been coming here enough years off and on that I’ve watched them come and go. These guys are easily some of the best around! Opening Day… St. Patricks Day… Random Tuesday… all good days to stop by and have a cold one!

I don’t think I will be back to the Giggling Grizzly any time soon. I used to trek over there from Auraria Campus back in the day to have their burgers. They used to be pretty good so we stopped in for a burger. First we sat at a table near the bar, the place wasn’t busy by any means. We waited for a while without seeing a server so we went to the bar instead. The bartender made it over after another while and took our burger orders. I had one off the menu that had both swiss and american as well as green chiles and bacon! Sounded great. My friend a hamburger. After a while the burgers came out. At first glance I noticed something strange. The cheese on mine wasn’t melted on top like what I expected. Instead it was sitting on the very bottom bun under cold lettuce and tomato. Sitting on top of this was the burger with the cold green chiles. I touched the bun and was surprised to find it ice box cold. My lady friend had the same complaint. The top buns were hard and cold with a dab of mayonnaise in the middle of each. I asked the bartender about the cold buns and asked if they had some fresher ones and if they would please melt the cheese for me too. She took them back and then came to tell me that the buns were all that way and that they keep them in the refrigerator until service. She asked if I would like to have them warm them up for me and I of course said yes. We waited for a while before they brought back the burgers. The cheese was partially melted on top of the cold green chiles which was fine. The buns though had been warmed up a little bit but were still cold in the middle. I decided to forgo the bun and eat the middle. Upon taking it apart I found the bacon in with the lettuce and tomato. It looked like it came out of the fridge too. It was cold and very burnt. I set it aside and started in on my burger. The meat tasted good and with the cheese and chilies it was pretty ok. The fries were the same ones we sent back and were cold by the time we got the plates back. The bartender asked how the burgers were and I showed her the bacon and the bun and told her about the cold fries. She was very nice and took the burgers off our tab. I tried to protest because we had eaten them but she insisted. I didn’t protest too hard though because the problem seemed systemic and not a fluke. Maybe this place is cooler after a few drinks. But really I think the kitchen here is just clueless, skip it…

Large space, cheap drinks, juke box with plenty of songs to choose from and giant jenga. They used to have an air hockey table but I think it broke. Last time I came here, no one was using it other than a place to set their drinks. Too bad… I love air hockey. A good place to start your night… or end it. Ha ha. Oh, I would probably stay away from the food here. I’ve never eaten at this place but from looking at what other people order, it doesn’t look that great. Overall, a good bar to hang out at for a while.

Ah, the Grizz. Many reasons why I like this place… and a few reasons I don’t. Let’s start with the good stuff: 1) Cheap drinks — especially if there is a game going on. Sure, the place can get crowded and getting up to the bar is a task but for the price it’s a win. 2) Not a lame LoDo crowd — mostly people who are down to get their drink on. 3) Lots of games — video, Jenga, pool, air hockey and even a space for Flip Cup. 4) Great location. 5) Big bar with lots of space. I’m not a fan of how chit chatty the bartenders are. I understand the bar is 360 degrees and you can’t keep an eye on every corner at all times. But really, I don’t want to have to do a song and dance to flag down a bartender. At least they are nice! Sometimes the music is way too loud and then you add on all the drunken screaming and it’s a chore just to order a drink. Wow — that makes me seem like an old man! When someone says we are meeting at The Grizz I never sneer. It’s always a solid time and lots of fun. It’s a great alternative to other bars that suck.

I had wondered how this place got its name until we got all the way in the door and saw the enormous stuffed grizzly bear close to the bar. Mystery Solved! On one of the busiest downtown drinking mornings we made a stop in for a quickie. They had Guinness so Kelly was happy. What made her even more happy was, although they were serving in soloesque type cups the bartendress was willing to give the Irish redhead an actually glass. This now made the place AWESOME! Nice sized bar, Lots of colorful characters and right next door to a great jazz dive. Great place for a quick drink.
