For and cocktails are great. Loved the atmosphere of the place and use to be a big fan of the place overall but opinion has changed in recent months. The service here has gone downhill and fast. Its like the servers were ignoring us and we were one of two tables on two different occasions. It’s really too bad too because this could end up being a case where a great restaurant won’t survive because of an apathetic service staff.

The Curtis club has redone their menu and… Their service is good. Drinks have hints of imagination but fail utterly on the execution, and the food lacks even the hints of imagination. I’m impressed that you could take an early November Brussel sprout and think«this needs an equal amount of batter and then to be deep fried in tepid oil.» Avoid this place.

I come in for trivia every Wednesday and every Wednesday is a great time. The staff is great, they really do make me feel like I’m just hanging out with friends. The food is great and really affordable. The steak is amazing and I highly recommend. It’s a thin cut ribeye with this outstanding lemon butter that makes it feel like it’s melting in your mouth. This place is a great way to end your hump-day. A beer, a streak, great people, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Don’t even bother. A group of 8 of us came in on a Saturday around 12pm for brunch, and despite the fact that there was only two other guests there, the service was horrendous. I actually arrived 10 minutes late, but made myself known to the host and server. After sitting there for a good 10 minutes, I had to flag down the server to put in my drink order(bottomless mimosa). I had to flag her down again to put in my food order(eggs Benedict). I ordered my food shortly after the rest of the group, it didn’t arrive until everyone was else was done. I get that I came afterwards, but that’s a pretty big gap in time. The server did not come back to check on the food at any point. The biggest disappointment was that they ran out of champagne, so all of us who had ordered bottomless mimosas($ 13 each) had to ration out the champagne. Not bottomless at all, and in my opinion, pretty poor business practice considering«BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS!» was scribbled on the board outside. The server’s response was«it’s out of my control». True, but you know what is in your control? Explaining that the champagne is running low before you let 6 people order it at the«bottomless» price. Overall, the food was okay but nothing I’d seek out. The service was lazy and rude, and without good reason. This place apparently plans to get by on the fact that they are downtown and have a trendy décor. I definitely won’t be back.

This review is for the nightlife. We were there for a friend’s band. It was quite the eclectic crowd. I still can’t put a finger on who was there but I like that I can’t classify a group of people. I liked the inside of this place. If it’s considered a dive then it’s one of the nicest ones I’ve been to. It’s quaint and interesting and a great spot to see small bands.

Ordered the brunch burger special with wagyu beef, pepper jack and bacon, and the caramel apple cinnamon French toast. I usually don’t like apples in anything but my girlfriend shoved a fork full into my mouse and i was blown away. The bread melted in my mouse, and the caramel, apple, cinnamon and syrup created a sinfully sweet and delicious sensation any French toast lover would die for. I wish I had taken a picture, but I didn’t, so I will describe the plate: Two pieces sliced in half overlapping one another with confectioners sugar on top and caramelized flambéd apple slices in a hot caramel buttery sauce poured on top of all that, syrup on the side. The burger was also delicious, served in a tasty soft slightly toasted brioche bun and cooked exactly how I asked, with lettuce tomatoes onions and pepper jack cheese. Fries included. Thanks Chef!

Food was a solid 3 stars but atmosphere and service bumps it up to 4. Went to brunch here yesterday and our server was awesome, the place has great vibes. Got here around 10:45am and the place was empty, eventually more people came. The bottomless mimosas are totally worth it… $ 13 per person and you get juices for your table and they give you the bottle of champagne for you to pour, so great. The French toast left a lot to be desired… Small portion but maybe for $ 8 it’s okay. It was soggy and thin and not anything exciting. The California omelette was pretty good. Last thing… doesn’t effect its Unilocal rating, but it was so bizarre to find tons of typos on the menu. I’m no English major but when the menu is misspelling words like«avacado» and«benedictg» and«brussels sprouts» it seemed like somebody was messing with us. I’ll definitely be back soon but maybe to check out dinner and drinks! Great weekly specials too.

We stopped in for a few drinks on a Saturday night, expecting it to be as busy as the rest of downtown Denver was, but oddly, the place was dead. We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by the bartender, who was very sweet. We browsed the cocktail menu and settled on a strawberry mojito and an infused tequila margarita. Unfortunately, they were out of the infused tequila for the margarita, so I asked if she could substitute the jalapeño tequila, which, it turned out, they were also out of. She was nice enough to get some fresh jalapeño from the kitchen and muddle it for me, but the whole process of this exchange took a good 15 minutes, while my friend was still waiting for her drink. My drink turned out pretty good, but my friend’s mojito lacked mint, so it was basically a strawberry purée and rum drink and was decidedly not delicious. we were mostly disappointed because there are SO many great cocktail bars in Denver, and upon walking in we were impressed with the atmosphere and the bartender was so friendly! We didn’t try the food, but I don’t think we’ll be back here on our next Denver trip.

Went there for brunch with my partner and mom. We had a wonderful morning. We didn’t have to wait for over an hour and our food was delicious. We also split the mimosa flight. Highly recommend getting that to share with 3 – 4 people. Can’t wait to try it for lunch or dinner

During our visit to Denver, we stayed across the street from this restaurant/bar. We ended up visiting this place three times during our stay. The first time was Saturday afternoon. We had about an hour to kill before the apartment that we were staying in was ready. We stopped in with our luggage at the bar for a drink. My boyfriend and I had a beer and looked around at the rustic décor. I liked the atmosphere of this place. When we finished our drinks, we moved on our way. The second time we came, it was for happy hour with our friends who met us in Denver. We had a drink and appetizer. The enjoyed the taco Tuesday deal, and I had the creamy tomato soup. One thing I noticed was their menu was very vegetarian and vegan friendly. If you don’t eat meat, you will have no problem finding something to eat. We all enjoyed our small snacks and drinks. Finally, we decided to head over to The Curtis Club last night for one more drink before we leave Denver. I ordered a margarita, and it was good. My boyfriend and our friend had the Old Fashioned. They both did not enjoy the Old Fashioned. They ended up drinking it anyway and switched to Whiskey Sour, and they seemed much happier. Overall, the staff has been incredibly kind, funny and friendly. It definitely makes the place with such a friendly staff. The only downside to this place is that it’s a little bit of a shady area. Our last drink included a homeless guy fighting with the stop sign and tree for 15 minutes. It did make the outside atmosphere a little uncomfortable. Other than that, this place was great!

This restarant is defiantly ok and has good ambiance. However, in a town with some of the best restarants in the country in the same price point. I would struggle to come back. It would be a great restarant in a town like Amarillo or Topeka, but In a town like Denver everything needs definitely be better than«ok.» My advise is to hit Tag instead. The fondu is not amazing but good. The buffalo bolinaise is ho hum at best. The scalps are very smooth though. And the brownie Sunday is rich but somehow not delectable.

Eh… It’s alright. I came for lunch on a cold April afternoon and the place was empty; it was just me. I ordered the fish tacos, on recommendation from the bartender, and a cup of the tomato bisque. It was so-so. The quality of the fish was great, but the dish itself was rather bland. The soup tasted very similar to a soup I had at Interstate Kitchen, but smaller and a little more expensive. Décor was cool; I imagine it would be a more appealing place to go for dinner, rather than lunch.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» I’m genuinely not sure what all the hype is about… Hubby and I came here for brunch a few weeks ago. Knowing that brunch in Denver is HUGE, we were really excited that we could make a reservation. We had plans in the afternoon, so made our reservation for 10:00, when The Curtis Club opens. If you’ve ever eaten brunch in Denver, you know that most places who don’t take reservations(and get rave reviews) will have at least a 45 minute wait by 10am. Alas, not at The Curtis Club! We were the only people in the restaurant for 45 minutes. We got there before our waitress. After 45 minutes, another couple arrived and sat outside. About 30 minutes later, a group of 6 women(probably in their 40s or 50s) began to arrive to celebrate a birthday. I can’t hold it against the place that people weren’t there, but it just seemed unusual. It seems like maybe brunch isn’t their forte? We were really excited about the menu, but the food was just ok. I had the«Shop Dude’s Breakfast” – 2 eggs, house made potatoes, bacon and toast. I asked for fruit instead of toast and extra crispy bacon; the fruit was yummy, but my bacon came out soft and floppy, so I didn’t eat it. The potatoes were decent, but tasted heavily fried. Hubby had the challah french toast – he ordered after me, and made a joke and asked if he could top my special requests and ask to have his crust cut off. The waitress laughed, we laughed, and then he said«No, I’m totally kidding… I love the crust, it’s the best part» and the waitress responded«awesome.» Unfortunately, she did ask for the crust to be cut off… so the dish was tiny. It seemed like it was 2 slices of wonder-bread-sized-challah cut into fours, and that was it. We laughed it off because it was«early» in the day and he shouldn’t have made the joke, but still, his(tasty but somewhat soggy) french toast was gone in 10 bites. We had two rounds of french press coffee. The first was terrible… we had a LOT of coffee grounds floating in our mugs and then so many that were sitting at the bottom that we needed to ask for new mugs when we got our second round of coffee. The second was better(different press, maybe the first just wasn’t working so well), but still not great. All in all, the highlight of our experience was definitely the service. Our waitress was friendly and quickly replaced napkins/dishes that had been dirtied by a nearby plant; despite the crust snafu, she was just attentive enough without being overbearing. The food was fine, but nothing we can’t make at home, and definitely not special enough to come again. Maybe I’ll come back for happy hour or dinner, but this isn’t at the top of my list.

We finally tried it and it was better than expected. Firstly, the décor and ambiance are brilliant and the service is fantastic. The menu is fun and interesting. We went for 2 small plates, the basic salad and 3 sliders and 1 main plate, the rabbit. We love rabbit so the main was a given but the sliders sounded awesome with a veggie slider, a lamb slider AND… an alpaca slider!!! We hadn’t had the chance to try alpaca so we were totally up for it First the basic salad, at $ 5 was simply incredible with mixed greens, pear, goat cheese and roasted hazelnuts. Then, the sliders, 3 lovely egg buns with big pieces of meat and salad and not too many flavored to let the meats shine. The alpaca was delicious red meat not too gamey not greasy, the lamb delicious and the veggie simple and fresh. Then the rabbit, big chunks of meat covered with pancetta seared. Accompanied with veggies, purée and a delicious citrus sauce Great drinks selection to top it all. We will be back soon

I’ve been to the Curtis Club several times in the past few months. I’m continually impressed by how much more I notice about the decorations. I always see some new detail and I love how hip it is without being too trendy. But let’s get to the main course(pun intended) — the food. The past two times I’ve been, I’m always drawn to the sliders. The standout slider is the veggie slider, that has the most delicious onion jam on top. I could eat it by the spoonful. This is nothing, however, compared to the sweet potato au gratin that came with my boyfriend’s order of beef tender. I practically melted in my chair. The au gratin was seasoned well and perfectly creamy. The beer and wine selections are robust. I especially like their non-alcoholic beverage specialties, though. The hibiscus spritz is particularly refreshing.

I had been here for happy hour a few times. They have great drinks and one of the times I got their sliders(alpaca was a delicious surprise!) and the saffron risotto croquettes were so good. We just tried their brunch which did not disappoint. My hubs got the burger and I got the mushroom omelet. We both got the bottomless mimosas and then shared the bread pudding as we were there for so long drinking. Heh. The staff is always friendly and the vibe is very cool.

After a long wait, I finally decided to check this place out for brunch with a friend using a LivingSocial coupon that I had gotten. They really did a good job on cleaning up the Old Curtis Street Bar and transforming it into a hipster foodie place. All the décor along with the rustic wood gives off a great vibe. And while I’m not a huge brunch person, I do have to give this place props for making an awesome Wild Mushroom Scramble with Haystack feta cheese, spinach and mushrooms. And since everything is better with bacon, I had to add that in to my scramble. Simply divine! My friend opted for the Ranch Burger and I had to stop him to try a bite before he completely devoured it. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 and not 5 stars, would be the service. While our waiter was super friendly, it took forever to get a drink at first and forever to get our food ordered. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and I can’t wait to try them for dinner.

The ambience at The Curtis Club is fantastic. Service? Good, but could be a little friendlier. The food and cocktails are the real stars here. Recommend for sure: Brussels Sprout Petals Diver Caught Sea Scallops For an entrée, I went with the duck plate(Seared Breast and Crispy Confit, Israeli Cous Cous, Dried Cherry, and Toasted Almond) and it was one of the best duck dishes I have had in quite some time. Thumbs up for that. Ordered the Milk Stout Chocolate Cake for dessert. Tasty, but the Pumpkin Bread Pudding was the clear winner. Definitely a cool spot to check out.

Whoa. The old Curtis Street Bar is now the really lovely Curtis Club restaurant and bar. I feel sad that I don’t know exactly when this happened, but I feel happy that it did. The interior is warm and welcoming with tons of soft light and wood. The menu is interesting. And the cocktails are delightful. Sir Nicholas and I have been here a few times now, for drinks after a Rockies game or dinner on a date night and every time we have really enjoyed it. On our recent trip I ordered the chef’s choice vegetarian plate and even though I’m not a vegetarian this plate is something I dream about on occasion. It actually changes nightly and is based on whatever is in season/on the menu/the chef has in the kitchen. It’s made of 5 different smaller sized items from straight-up veggies to different kinds of grains and every single item was wonderfully different. I highly recommend trying it if you are a vegetarian or are just trying to eat more vegetables. Our service has always been lovely and welcoming and I’m happy to have this spot as an addition to the places we frequent.
