I dont understand the negative reviews. I bought a living social deal for a four course meal and bottle of wine. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio since it was so perfect outside. We chose where to sit so we sat away from everyone. The hostess and waitress were both super helpful and made it extremely easy for us to order for the deal. My boyfriend started with the mac and cheese. Which was delicious! He ordered salmon for his entrée. When I take him to these nice places he likes to step out of his comfort zone which is steak and wings. I started with the calamari which was great and my entrée was prime rib which was awesome! We got halfway through our entrees and switched. The salmon was probably the best i had ever had! I order salmon at most places when I go out. Our wine glasses were never empty. Our waitress was great. We took our dessert to go and ate it later. He got the chocolate mouse which was good and I got the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée had a flan texture but it could be that it sat in the car for a few hours while we attended a concert. Overall great experience!

I never write reviews, especially poor ones. The staff here was extremely friendly and nice. However, the food was not up to par. The meat was overcooked in the beef sliders, meatballs, and chicken Marsala. The Marsala was way overpriced at $ 16 and didn’t include any noodles or sides(just chicken and sauce). The cheese plate was nothing special– could have been bought at a grocery store with crackers. We were really lured by the menu and restaurant week but the food didn’t live up to expectations.

One of my all-time favorite places to grab wine and appetizers. It’s a great restaurant and bar that was once an old home(I think). I usually sit in the bar, a spacious area that feels cozy at the same time. The Cork House offers ample seating indoors and out. One of my favorite things about this place is that I can bring my toddler without feeling uncomfortable, even if she runs around or wants to catapult herself into the pretty fountain outside. Staff and customers are friendly, it’s within walking distance of my home in Mayfair, and they have a great happy hour. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I came here with a living social deal. We were hesitant based on reviews we had read, but figured that we would give it a shot regardless. We had the crab Mac and cheese and the calamari as our appetizers. The calamari was great and had a neat Asian twist to it, which we both enjoyed. The Mac and cheese was good too, but could have been a little warmer. We both had Greek salads, which were very good. For our entrees we both as the Parmesan crusted salmon. I’m picky about salmon and I really liked this dish. For dessert we both has chocolate mousse. Rich and delicious. The portion sizes were all great and we had a bottle of Pinot Grigio to go with everything. Overall, the waitress was super attentive, and the hostess was extremely nice. This place is definitely worth the deal on living social! The atmosphere is nice as well!

We always have a nice experience here and they don’t try to rush you to turn tables. A casual place to eat and have conversation.

I hosted a birthday happy hour for 3 girlfriends whose birthday are in 3 days of one another. They took a reservation for 15 people on the patio outside but set up a large table in the bar area too in case it rained. It did rain and we easily went inside with no hassles. They have great food and drink specials for happy hour. I would host another happy hour party here in a minute. I have also been for dinner and had a great dining experience.

The absolute WORST meal I’ve had in Denver. Wish I could give negative stars. We should have known how bad it was going to be by how empty the place was at dinner time on a Friday night. Walked in and the hostess was nowhere to be found. After waiting 5 – 10 minutes, I mentioned we were joining a party and I wouldn’t recognize people. She led us to the dining room and just left us. Luckily, the birthday girl’s brother recognized me and called me over. There were 3 menus scattered on the table, and it took forever for the waiter(Rashid?) to come take our drink order. He knew nothing about the wine offerings. Several in the party were running late, but we ordered two cheese plates for the table. While the quality of the cheese was good, the quantity was not. How they expected 4 people(per plate) to actually be able to enjoy the miniscule amounts of cheese provided is beyond me. I could have eaten the whole thing myself and still been hungry. The grapes were brown and squishy. The server was not consistent — not everyone had a menu(still only 3 on the table) and he ignored us when we asked for additional menus. He would either be MIA, or harassing us 5 minutes after we said we needed more time. He actually sassed the birthday girl, and claimed she needed to hurry up — because of the 3 menu situation she hadn’t even had a chance to LOOK at a menu. He made a huge fuss about skipping her and coming back at the end. I ordered the Steak Diane, billed as «Filet Medallions, scallions, roasted garlic, mushrooms, whole grain mustard, in a Brandy Reduction». What I got was the type of cube steak you would chicken fry, coated in a burnt sauce(couldn’t tell if it was brandy), and mushrooms. Not present: roasted garlic, mustard, or scallions. I’m not one to drink water and I couldn’t down mine fast enough, it was like eating straight salt. Actually that might have been better — since it wouldn’t have had the burnt taste. Of course I never got a refill on my water because the waiter was MIA again. My partner described his Lobster Mac & Cheese as «questionable» and only had 3 bites which is insane considering his stomach is a bottomless pit. The Hostess walked by and asked how everything was, but quickly walked away when we tried to respond. The meal(2 glasses of wine, Steak Diane, Lobster Mac & Cheese) cost us $ 70, what a MISTAKE. Our waiter(who had no other tables — the place was empty) couldn’t figure out the checks. I watched him write down the breakdown, and he still screwed it up. He actually handed a bill for 2 drinks to the BIRTHDAY girl, when her brother told him 3 times(!) that ALL of her meal/drinks should be on his tab. We left before two girls even got their checks — 20 minutes after requesting them. NEVERAGAIN.

I loved this place! Would come back in a heart beat. I am from out of town and purchased this as a Groupon. Wonderful service and great experience. My friend is a picky eater, and they were very accommodating without any hesitation or reluctance. Oh, did I mention the awesome service and wine!

Had a Living Social Deal that I wanted to use. My daughter and I arrived a littler earlier than our reservation but were seated immediately by the fireplace. Our server, Rachid, suggested we move to a table that had more comfortable seating. We were glad we did! Rachid was a great server from start to finish. Very personable, efficient, and friendly. Our deal was for a four course meal with a bottle of wine. We started off the meal with a bottle of Chardonnay from Bulgaria. It worked out nicely with everything. Appetizers calamari and potstickers. Had a Caesar and Garden Salad. Rachid asked if I wanted some anchovies on top of my Caesar and I said no. My daughter asked if she could have anchovies on her garden salad and he put a good amount on her salad. Both were a good size. For the entrees, we had the Tournedos Oscar and Salmon. Both were very flavorful. To end the meal we had crème brûlée and chocolate mousse. It was a very enjoyable meal and I would definitely come back.

The meals were very good. Calamari & Bruschetta apprise rulers were very goo. We both enjoyed the French Onion soup and tournedos and the crème Brule was average. The service was excellent! We would come back and have it again as well as try other items.

Really unimpressed with this place. Bought a Living Social deal for a dinner for two with wine. To start they did not have our reservation in the books. We waited 30 minutes to be seated when the place was 30% full. Bar service was good however. Everything kept going downhill… Server was very un-attentive(and not busy). Appetizers took almost an hour to arrive, salad was wilted and bland. Main course was cold, chewy and not that good. And to boot the crème brûlée was mushy and not worth eating at all. The manager came by and expresses her concern and offered us 2 free appetizers if we came back. Not gonna happen. My wife put it in perspective while we were eating when she said she would rather be eating at Texas Road House… And I agreed. Glad I got that meal at a discount, and it wasn’t even worth that cost.

We had a Travelzoo deal — basically a 4 course meal with bottle of wine for $ 70 bucks — it’s the best $ 70 we’ve spent at a restaurant in a while. We had great service from beginning to end. The patio outside is one of the best and with great ambiance and you barely notice the traffic on Colfax. Now onto the food — we had the calamari and shrimp cocktail to start. The calamari was among the best we’ve ever had — the sauce was sweet with a little spice. The shrimp was meh. We each had a salad — the caprese was super delish! My husband had the tournedos Oscar and I had the Alaskan salmon. The tournedos with béarnaise was A-MAZ-ING!!! The salmon was awesome with a sweet ginger sauce — went really well with the Chardonnay we had. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and the chocolate mousse. Both were delicious but the crème brûlée was the clear winner! Definitely check this place out — especially for the great patio during the summer!

Used a Living Social coupon here. Turns out we had also been here 5 years ago when I first my in-laws. And we still talk about that dinner as being soooo fantastic.(Took my first picture with Courtney H. here too). Anyways… you have to eat here. Great food, amazing service and the desserts… lordy! The prices are reasonable, the wine(the house red we got… mind blown), and there really isn’t a good reason not to go. So really… go, be amazed.

We used our Livingsocial deal. Service was very good. Sarah, the manager paid much attention to us. The food was good. Calamari had a great sauce. I would not have paid 140 for a regular meal. It was a Tuesday night. It was pretty slow.

I pass this place often, so finally stopped in for dinner. The place was pretty empty. We got the Prime Rib and Ribeye. They were decent but nothing great. Service was ok. They didn’t even serve bread, and the atmosphere was pretty blah…

This restaurant is a waste of a good building in a great location. This building once was home to Tante Louise which was a Denver Landmark. Sadly its replacement begs to live up to its own name. Ok yeah, they have wine… decent wine by the glass specials during happy hour but their attempts at a menu has been laughable from day one. I kept getting suckered into going here because it’s right around the corner from where I live. I guess I kept returning and trying different things either out of morbid curiosity or simply to find ONE redeeming quality. The first time I ate there with my girlfriend for our anniversary, the food made her sick(after waiting over 90 minutes for it to get to us, it apparently died in the window LONGBEFORE). Another time our party of 6 was getting blasted by Jimmy Buffet and Fleetwood Mac in the house speaker directly overhead, when we asked the manager to either change it to jazz(you know, common in a fine dining atmosphere.) or turn it down– she simply said«I hate Jazz, the music is from my personal cd collection». Wow lady… really? Couple that with your condescending attitude towards the people that keep your doors open and you can go find a job at the Denver Diner if they’re hiring. Seriously, I’m not here to Park Hill bash… I love my neighborhood and maybe I’m a little protective of it! I get a little defensive when someone sets up shop only to do a half assed job and expect us to over pay. If you want a place that is unpretentious and delivers good food and wine in SPADES, just go a few blocks east to Solera. Goose’s crew is the real deal, the food and wine are spectacular for the money and the patio is beautiful in the spring and summer.

OMG! I’ve never had such a deceiving experience dining. This place started off really well, but, by the end, we were flabbergasted by how bad the food was. We had a four-course wine-paired meal. Luckily we had that wine! The meal did start off promising. Our apps(bruchetta & meatballs) was pretty good. Then it went down hill. I think we only finished one of the next 6 dishes that arrived at our table, and it was only a salad. Fiancé’s salad was pretty good, with walnuts and orange slices, but mine was down-right terrible. I had a spinach salad with a warm bacon vinaigrette. I don’t think the bacon was cooked. Our main courses consisted of a half-cooked halibut with a bunch of canned vegetables and a tortellini carbonara that wasn’t nearly as bad, but still, unfinishable. Luckily, the garlic bread was eatable. By the time desert came, we were so drunk off wine, we didn’t care THAT much that the best course was the flan and the mousse. This isn’t even to mention that our waitress was on crack. Nice, for sure, but def. hitting the pipe. I will take some blame for trying this place without ever hearing(or reading) anything about it. I had got a coupon on a whim. Hey Cork House, thanks for reminding me not to do that again.

The only reason this place gets 3 stars is the patio they have. The happy hour is decent as well-half off glasses of wine and cheap apps. However. the service is severely lacking. Our waiter kept on forgetting our drinks or giving us the wrong ones. or not even coming by at all to see how we were doing. They also seemed to have run out of a lot of food pretty early in the night-around 6 on a Friday evening. You think they would have been better prepared. I really don’t have much else to say. I was expecting more but was not blown away at all. If you do go, however, definitely go for HH and get a cheese flight.

Never again will I go back! The servers(we had a couple since it was really dead) had the tendency to make high price recommendations and pushed a lot of bottles on us. Instead of offering 1 or 2 bottles to try they would tell us to get 3. This business is really only in it for the money only. My friends and I are big wine drinkers and we brought a big group of about 15 people there for dinner. The bill came out without gratuity added(they pointed it out, hoping for high gratuity), but the wine and food were bundled together rather than separate. We thought the service was ridiculously shady, so tipped 15% off the total. They had the nerve to take our ticket back and tell us it wasn’t enough, added back 22% gratuity on top of the total and argued with us about it. Even the manager was very rude. It was to my understanding that gratuity in this country meant a gracious tip in accordance to the SERVICE. Anyways, I actually routinely tip 20%. 15% for poor service and 25% for great service. Sometimes even higher, so this place just pissed me off to get 15% and now I want to take it all back. Not worth it at all!
