I was walking past this place on my way home and decided to stop in. I have a couple friends with birthdays coming up and had no idea what to get them. I immediately found things for both of them in this cute little shop. I found that the selection was varied and not all gawdy, overly-decorative items like a lot of gift shops in the area. I thought the prices were fair for the items that I picked out. They might have been high for bath salts in general, but with the cute, sassy-girl packaging, I thought they were worth it. I was so happy to be able to find gifts that I’m happy to give and to be able to find them at a local shop. I look forward to stopping in here in the future.

A friend brought me to this store recently. We were immediately and warmly greeted by the owner and her colleague. They were unpretentiously helpful, but not pushy. Clearly, they are both just plain nice people who know how to run and maintain a unique business. There is something in this store for everyone in every price range. Don’t mistake not being able to afford everything at Silk Road for not being able to afford most items there. I spent about $ 70 there, for a total of 5 gifts. One of the ladies offered to gift wrap them(for free), and did a beautiful job, using pretty wrapping papers and cloth ribbons. That was a huge help to me. There are lovely, affordable jewelry items at Silk Road, perfect wedding and get-well gifts, and a wonderful, unique selection of sturdy, fun books, clothes and toys for little kids and babies. There are scarves, art pieces, greeting cards, wedding and anniversary gifts, hostess gifts, everything. I love Silk Road, and I will return to it again for gifts(or for me!) even if I don’t need anything, because it’s fun to be there. One more thing: in the past year I have worked for two separate antique/collectible/gift shops in the Littleton area. It was clear at Silk Road that the two women there(one being the owner) worked well together, and were helpful to one another. I didn’t have that experience in my two jobs at similar stores in Littleton. It was so refreshing to be in such a pretty, really great store and not sensing tension or resentment of any kind.

There are times I would not give this so many stars but they must have received a lot of new items. Nice variety of gift items. Candle holders, candles, fun towels with funny sayings, kids clothes and gifts, jewelry, they even carry clothes now, garden chimes, serving pieces, and cards. I have purchased different things here at different times. This day I was just looking. Oh I know I will be back. Love to see what new things they have.

I agree with the other reviews — definitely pricey but some cool, interesting pieces including the much referenced glass. I got a neat Christmas card that has a honeycomb tree on it — steep at $ 5 but for a friend in a nursing home so I know she will enjoy it as it is freestanding and different.

You need to bring your money, but there’s interesting stuff to buy. Really liked their jewelry and some of their art, and their Turkish Ceramics too. Lovely.

Absolutely worth stopping in while shopping on Gaylord street, but other than a metal rose, I have yet to purchase else here. It is almost like a mini-art gallery. The merchandise is unique and of high quality, just not usually what I’m shopping for.

The prices are high here and there’s not much that blew my skirt up, though I couldn’t stop circling the glass case holding the gorgeous, hand-painted Turkish Ceramics(chargers, bowls, vases, etc.) The lime green line really was stunning. I would definitely consider buying them if I ever manage to make more money than I need to live. Grr.(I’m willing to learn! Someone teach me how to make the green grow!) I think my main beef with this shop was the owner… or the employee? He just kept following us around. We are definitely kids in our 20s but who says I don’t have a trust fund stash? I managed to lose him for 2 seconds in the nursery part of the store that had heavy-handed baby gifts and items that reminded me of something my grandma would buy. If my grandmother had money. Worth noting were a set of dog leashes that I had never seen before. They had the funniest sayings like…‘One of us is co-dependent.’ ‘One of us likes grass.’ ‘One of us comes when we’re called.‘ Hee hee. I like the cute doggie leashes and the Turkish Ceramics. So if you’re in the market… it’s worth a drive-by for sure.
