Well-run DIY venue for metal and punk bands. Good stage setup and decent sound. Needs a WiFi connection though, and a vending machine.

There’s not much I can say to top Becca’s review — she’s totally spot on. What used to be a crust punk space in Blast-o-Mat now lives on as an all ages community space in 7th Circle. Don’t expect to know many, or any, of the bands on a bill — that’s part of the fun. Getting to see bands Before They Were… and bragging about it later. Discovering someone you hadn’t heard of, who is now your new favourite. Realizing that not only is there such a thing as crust-folk, but that you actually really enjoy it. With shows happening pretty much every night these days, it’s a great place to show up unannounced, just to see what’s going on. And since there are usually 4+ bands on a bill, it’s also some of the cheapest live music you’ll see anywhere.(Donations only, always appreciated.) 7C also has the best sound system you’ll ever hear in a DIY venue. Straight up. Don’t miss it.

It’s a DIY spot so the bathrooms are gnarly, the garage is fairly tiny and no one knows about it. Still, when this place is packed, it will always be a good time. Sometimes, when it’s just 15 kids for some unknown band, it’s still a great time. The place is actually a record store so there’s no booze, no food and no drinks. As it’s a record store, it’s all ages. As it’s all ages, there’s a no booze/no bullshit policy. Such is life in the underground. This place used to the Blast-o-mat which was a long standing grindcore/crust punk DIY venue. The shows these days are all over the board: laptop hip-hop to indie nihilism to packed ska shows. The dude running it, Aaron Saye, likes pretty much everything and seems to have an open door policy on booking shows. I always say everyone knows Aaron Saye. If you go to Denver shows and you’ve seen a blonde kid with a long ponytail filming, you probably know of Aaron Saye as well. The thing about Aaron is you could have seen him at Devotchka or at a tiny metal show or in the pit for a pop punk band or at a packed ska show. The dude is everywhere. He is also unfailingly nice. Not everyone who volunteers at this DIY space follows this rule to a t(lots of folks put in 20+ hour days to make this place run) but Aaron’s niceness is there in spirit.
