On the search for the perfect color envelope to perfectly match some wedding thank you cards — I wandered into Scribbles with not too much expectation, but what I found was an adorable shop perfectly set-up for you to feast your eyes on rows and rows of stationary, greeting cards, and monogrammed this and that. The older building(or what I imagined an older building) right off 15th street close to the Platte makes for a perfectly quaint spot for selling equally as cute papers and fanciful things. With dark, hard wood floors and high ceilings — the ambiance is so enchanting it is almost impossible not to be encouraged to buy something. Although, the staff could stand to be a little more accommodating, helpful, and polite — I am always inclined to patronize a local haunt for specific goods, like stationary, than a big brand store.

I’m a lover of all things paper and preppy, so Scribbles is the kind of place I am drawn to like a moth to a flame. Love the space itself, and the inventory seems to have expanded since prior reviews(i.e. Scribbles now has journals, many single cards for purchase, wrapping paper and a bevy of monogrammed and customizable items for sale). We used Scribbles for the place card calligraphy as well as for invites for our day after wedding luncheon. I found the prices to be reasonable for both, but their day to day items are on the pricier side(i.e. $ 4 – 6 per card). That said, the cards are unique, made of high quality materials and often letter pressed, so you pay for what you get. I’m a paper goods junkie, so this suits me, but if anything about this pricing rubs you the wrong way, you most likely won’t like the store(I feel like I can justify the expense since I’m(gasp!) not a coffee drinker and don’t spend regularly on the ‘Bucks).

My fiancé and I went into Scribbles a few months ago when we were shopping around for«Save the Dates». This was earlier on in our planning process and we didn’t realize that you literally need to make an appointment for everything wedding related. We walked in and were greeted right away. When we explained we wanted to look at invitations/save the dates, they told us we would need to schedule an appointment, but we were free to look around until their 3pm appointment got there. They ended up going through a couple of books with us, and once I told them my budget they literally gave me 3 options. All involved perforated edges on glossy paper that looked like they came out of my ink-jet printer. They didn’t offer to set up an appointment with us before we left, so we never went back. The space is cute, and they have a few fun cards, but I am happy I went with another shop for my invitation needs.

This is a super cute little stationery store. They sell things like wedding or baby announcements and invitations for all sorts of events. However, this is absolutely the only thing they sell. They don’t even sell things that would go along with stationery such as nice pens or journals. The selection wasn’t huge for things like cards when I last stopped in, but if you’re looking for just invitations or announcements they are definitely worth looking into here as that seems to be the specialty.

Ordered my wedding invitations from Scribbles. Everything was great — invitations were delivered and looked great. But what they failed to tell me was that if I needed to order more invites, the price per invite would double or triple! Had someone told us when we placed the original order, we wouldv’e ordered extra. Customer service is lacking.

I wanted to love this place, and I did when the first time I visited. However upon returning planning to make a purchase I discovered they don’t really have a great selection. I needed a wedding card, I waited like a fool thinking that I would run into this cute little store and surely they have a fantastic awesome card to give to my friends. I did find a card but really had to dig around for it, luckily my friends have a good sense of humor as the card I had to settle for wasn’t the ideal msg. I would have sent to just anyone. I was disappointed. I still wanted to love this place… so I went back looking for a sympathy card, only to be directed to a small bin full of mis-match cards. It took a while to dig for them and they sucked. I’ll admit, some of the merchandise is pretty cute, most however is extremely overpriced and not worth the money.

This place is SO cute! They have everything from the top of the line wedding invitations, to cute personalized monogrammed stamps, to simple and unique thank you notes. There is a beautiful upstairs with binders FULL of invites. Much better than the mall papyrus stores.
