Awesome music, really dirty place, the beers taste like the lines have never been cleaned or changed and the place generally smells, Awesome wall art though and cool old TVs, both stages have phenomenal sound.

This is one of my all time favorite bars. As a big grateful dead fan and string cheese incident fan this place gives you a happy feeling when you walk in. We have seen countless bands play on both stages they have and every time has been fun. If you like blue grass or are a dead head coming here is a must.

Good sound if JonO is working, otherwise just OK. Place is basically a dump, disgusting restrooms, not much chance of seating unless you get there really early. Scene outside at night is spooky, someone was stabbed outside nearby recently. Be aware of your surroundings when leaving, lots of homeless junkies and dealers crusing the area late.

Lots of live music that has good cover. I paid $ 10 to see an excellent bluegrass 80s band. The place is casual with mostly hipster casual crowd, but could use some sprucing up. I would like to see more live music here and update my review.

I visited the Mclovins Concert On January 18, 2015 in the Quixotes True Blue. That was my first time to visit a concert in the U.S. Before I went, I was nerves having never been there and had heard any information about that. In addition, the ticket was cheap that cost thirteen dollars. As might have been expected, I found the environment was not good when I arrived there. The Quixotes True Blue was located on the left side of 18th Street. I smelled a sickly smell, which is marijuana after I went out of my car. I hate that smell. In addition, there were lots of scrawlings on the wall, and there was no light on the wall, there was only a small light on the top of the entrance of the bar, and the door was really hard to find. I thought that looks like a party show more than a concert. By the way, the concert itself was not bad. I love their music that they can let people follow the rhythm involuntarily. They sang 13 songs on that night as well, and that is enough for me because my ears can’t accept the longer time for the loud acoustic. All in all, this experience was not bad. I will follow the Mclovins online, but I might not visit their concert or Quixotes concert venue again because it’s not my style of place.

Yi Luo I went the Mclovins’ concert On January 18th, and this concert was hold in Quixotes True Blue, a night club on East 13th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. Before I went to there, I feel anxious because it was the first time I listened a concerts, and I found this club was permanently closed when I search it on the Google map. However, this place was still opening and a lot of people came there to listen the concert. When I arrived there, I found it was easy to park here because this club is nearby a parking lot, and we just need to walk one minute to the club from the parking lot. The appearance of this club was really old and like a coffee shop, and there were some Graffittis on the walls which make me feel I went a right place to listen the rock ‘n’ roll music. Therefore, I was curious that what kind of concert will be hold there and what kind songs the singer would sing. However, when I came into the venue, I felt that I was standing in a garbage station; the smell in this nightclub was really strange and smelt like some one was smoking marijuana there. Furthermore, the space of this nightclub was not big to contain too much audience, so most of the audience stood on the central of the dancing place. There was a shop to sell the beer and wine for the audience, but if you are under 21 you cannot buy the wine and they would mark an X on your hand. In addition, the light of this concert was really dark; I could not even see my friends’ face that stood beside by me. In addition the, the acoustic is not very clear, so I just could receive the rhythm that the singer conveyed to us, but the lyric was so vague. This venue made me feel a little disappointed about this concert because everything there was chaotic and troubled.

I went to the grateful dead review on Saturday night. Drinks are strong, not cheap. Bartender was great. The crowd was a little different. We had some fun. The band was definitely run by the stand up base player. They were boring and most of the crowd was following them. Over all, 4 stars.

I dig this place for a happy hour spot, it’s sometimes quiet in the early evenings. Decent beer selection and the wait staff is usually friendly. Sometimes some weird characters hanging around but otherwise a very cool place. I like the outdoor seating area. Because the bar is dedicated to playing Grateful Dead music 24/7, I often like to joke with the bartenders by saying«Hey, why don’t we put on some Fiona Apple or something…»

This is a great space for music. The décor is laid back, there are two stages and two bars and the patio is always a great break when you need some air. We went to a Lagunitas sponsored event which meant unlimited Lagunitas IPA pints, free entry and great bands. Worth keeping an eye for events taking place there

Came here for a show one night. The staff was very friendly, it felt just like seeing the band back home. Good beer on tap, great environment. Some regulars were obnoxiously drunk and kept yelling«Free Bird!» but the staff had the sound cranked up just enough for the band to drown them out. The décor on the walls is show posters dating back to 1999 and maybe even earlier, this is a great idea and looks amazing. Overall the venue is great, high energy and good tunes.

I’m giving this hippie dump the lowest rating I can possibly give it because of what the idiot owners did to a beautiful Denver landmark. When this bar was Bender’s Tavern, they had an incredible, photo realistic portrait of Johnny Cash painted on the side. That image was an amazing work of mural art and when the jackass hippie who owns Quixote’s took the space over, they couldn’t leave such an awesome thing alone. They hired some«artist» who can barely draw to paint over it with one of the absolute worst renderings of Jerry Garcia possible. Losing the Man in Black was bad enough, but whoever painted the Jerry mural should have their hands cut off to prevent further tragedies from happening. I’ve seen patients with Parkinson’s disease who can render better work. So a 1 star rating and zero chance of this place EVER getting any business from me and my friends.

This review is for the Bus Service provided to Dick’s Soccer Stadium for the recent Phish-band concert extravaganza… It was a complete and total cluster. One of the female drivers actually got lost, and seemed to have no idea how to drive a bus. Another one of the drivers thought he knew hip-hop /rap and he turned off my Ray Cash. Another night they left us at the stadium and we had to Escalade it back(which was actually the best ride back of the 3-nights.) Total chaos & disorganization. Never again. And NOT recommended. Stick to what you do well, run the bar. Forget the bus service. It doesn’t work.
Major upgrade from stupid ol Benders! This place is heavenly for any open minded spirit. Nothing but friendly weirdos are allowed in, so get ready for that! They took a creepy old venue and covered it in artwork and rubbed the classic true blue spirit all over. There are three distinct areas of awesome! The main stage/bar area is large and has an elevated stage. They have a couple of tables, a space for dancing, a lot of musical art and some fun license plates over the bar and a pool table. There is also the secondary stage space(on the left through the entrance) that is usually an additional cover fee. There is much more leveled seating here, a larger dance floor, lots of classic concert posters and a separate bar. Then there is the badass patio with even more art and a fun little bar! The bathrooms are painted and have a sweet energy and there are usually decent drink specials. They always have a cover, but they always have quality music so it works out. I would appreciate a cheaper cover at times, but whatever. They do charge for water, which kinda sucks but you should be drinking water all day and drinking booze at the bar. But if the worst thing that happens to your evening is that you get charged for water, it isn’t all that terrible so quit complaining. The service is always super nice. Plus, they have been putting on free shows at Civic Center park all summer — super sweet! They have introduced me to some great local talent and have showcased some historical musicians. This place is a gem and I couldn’t be happier that it is in the hood!

Went to the old location a ton of times and have had good and bad experiences. Overall, the new place is great with 2 venues in 1. It has very cool decorations and is very original. I do truly respect what the owner is doing and feel that there is a big market for a place like this. Bands are great, acoustics are awesome, staff is always nice. Definitely a fun night out.

I am so mad at myself. I went to Quixotes on their final weekend in this location and fell madly and deeply in love with it. But now they are moving it, actually right down the block from my apartment which will be dangerous but fun! Back to why I am so sad, this bar has everything! Good indoor sight lines for the bands and the most beautiful outdoor space for the opening bands in my case. The bar is so open and friendly and let’s just say it a dead head paradise! While I am excited to have a jam bar right down the street I don’t know how you could possibly match or beat the current location. A sad move but it must be time. At least they get to continue jamming out in Cap Hill!

3.5 stars Unilocalers!!! C’mon now! It’s time that this place got the review it deserves. Bartenders pour strong drinks at a reasonable price while great music and good vibrations fill the atmosphere. This rock n roll haven is perfect for the free-spirited, famished, and parched. Give this place a fair shot, and you will NOT be disappointed. Be sure to go here for live music, especially all of you jam band lovers. Quixote’s is a must! The outdoor patio is where its at too! Great venue, solid rock n roll café, and good people.

The two concert’s I have been to at this bar couldn’t possibly be better! The atmosphere is definitely a hippie vibe, but that s’all good with me! I loved the patio, easily one of the coolest in Denver. One of the concert’s I went to was actually on the patio and I was blown away, great sound, great drinks, and plenty of room to dance or do whatever you do. It was easy to get drinks, the peeps were friendly and a great time was had. I would say to the hater’s that have reviewed before, don’t order a water, know you’re going to a hippie bar and you won’t have a problem.

This was definitely the coolest bar I went to in Denver! I went on a Sunday night and they had three really good blue grass bands playing. The place was almost empty, though. If you’re into dive bars, this is the one! Prices are very reasonable.

This place is shabby chic without the chic part. Like most Grateful Dead fans, this joint is old and smells of matted talc and rotted pastrami. No they don’t serve pastrami, it just smells like they did… a week ago. The centerpiece of this old WWII scale calibration factory is a dance floor, humorously designed with a «trip rim», a little step all the way around. The DJ station features cathode computer screens that were all the rage in 1988. The walls are plastered with framed artwork of, guess what, stuff related to the Grateful Dead. One buddy bar is bespeckled with ticket stubs of various concerts, coated in yellowing lacquer. I once met Phil Lesh. Didn’t care for him much, so maybe I am biased. And I don’t think Jerry Garcia was ail that great. So sue me. And if I were in 1977, this place would be great. But its not and it ain’t. If you’re a GD fan, Quixote is to you as Graceland is to Elvis fans. If you’re not a GD fan, this place leaves you standing with arms upraised saying«WTF»?? THIS is my night out??? So while I’m picking on this musty barn, what’s with the God damn name? It is so incongruent it literally makes me angry. Hey, let’s open a pizza joint and call it «To Kill a Mockingbird». Let’s open a car wash and call it «War and Peace». Let’s open a petting zoo and call it «Animal Farm»(OK, I took it one too far.) My final mini rage. They revile customers who order water. I did and it was as if the Sword of Damocles came flying through the sinew, cartilage and flesh of my face. Do not order a drink with a water back. Pay for your water or leave immediately. Just watch out for the little step. Bonus star for the big dance floor, cool patio/courtyard and the remembrances of the hippie sixties.
