Wow. I tried hard to expose Protein Bar’s flaw, but certainly didn’t find it on visit one. I eat at a burrito place(Chipotle/Qdoba/Illegal Pete’s) at least once a week. Consistently good, not TOO harsh on the body, and they’re everywhere. Protein Bar looks to take a healthier approach to this idea. Ridiculous price? Nope. About the same. Okay, so half the size? Nope. Pretty close to the same size, and I felt good afterward. Fake nutrition facts? Nope. Chipotle’s chicken burrito with guacamole will hit you at 1190 calories, where Protein Bar’s «Guac and Roll» will land at 620 calories. Chipotle has SLIGHTLY more protein, but the difference is clear, and Protein Bar wins. I was worried about the idea of a «flax seed» tortilla, but I wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t look into it. Bad taste? Nope. Protein Bar was quite delicious, even the lettuce had a taste to it. YES, it did. Awesome! I’m going to come back and try breakfast very soon. This is good.

The food is great and the restaurant is clean but service is lacking. I have been a few times and each time I am never welcomed or given a farewell when I leave. The cashier doesn’t say hi first. One time, I think the cashier was a manager and he didn’t even make eye contact with me. Work on friendliness and basic customer service! The training time will be worth it for your business! People really value friendly staff as much as quality and cleanliness!!!

If you like fairly quick, overpriced, somewhat healthy food from a severely limited menu, this is your place. Couple that with sometimes unreasonably slow service from angsty teens and a menu you get sick of within 3 visits, that’s protein bar!

Food is awesome — and when I forgot to ask for avocado, they put it in my order at no charge! Great place!

Just tried protein bar for the first time. Food tastes good but a couple bites in ended up chewing on a piece of plastic. And then found a hair in the food. Pretty disappointing.

I ate lunch at Protein Bar twice while in town for a work trip. During both visits, the service was friendly and super quick. I also love the concept. So many healthy, gluten free, low calorie, quick food options. Yay! The first time I went I ordered the green chili(or something like that) bowl with chicken, which was flavorful and filling. It did need some extra sauce, however(I added some Chalula). On my second visit, I ordered the Korean BiBi-Q barito, which I ordered to-go and didn’t have time to eat for about an hour or hour and a half after ordered. When I opened it up, the tortilla/wrap was super soggy and barely edible. I took one or two bites then threw it in the trash. Perhaps its my fault I waited to long to eat the thing(I was on a work trip and had a short amount of time for lunch, then rushed into a meeting when I arrived at my destination), although I can’t imagine that my situation is atypical for the average professional who needs a quick lunch and doesn’t eat immediately after ordering. Also, being from Austin, Texas, there are tons of tacos places here that serve tacos, which I’ve eaten 30 – 60 minutes after ordering, and they’re still both hot and not soggy. Perhaps Protein Bar can learn some lessons from the tex mex genre…

This kills me to knock a star… but I think Protein Bar needs to know. I have given Protein Bar five stars in the past because I love their food and the friendly atmosphere but they have recently gotten a new manager within the past few weeks who is a bad representation of the company and ruins the friendly atmosphere that the customers value. I am a regular at protein bar(to the point that they know my name and order, which is very nice of them) but now I feel deterred from going there because the new manager is snappy and quite frankly, rude. There is no way that I am the only customer who has had this experience, even the way he talks to his staff is degrading. The past couple managers were the exact opposite, and were very welcoming and friendly. I would still recommend Protein Bar to friends and family but until they get a different manager, I will avoid going there.

I’ve been driving by Century Link Plaza ever since it opened and thought, «who the hell would invest in a restaurant that only made protein shakes?».(I came to this conclusion as their logo appears that way) I’ve actually been within the shopping center multiple times visiting MooYah, Thai Pot, and the Xfinity store and have never been curious enough to check it out. The other day, I was browsing on LinkedIn when an article titled, «How working as a McDonald’s fry cook helped Protein Bar CEO succeed». So I clicked. After reading it, I quickly realized that they do not just make protein shakes, but really believe in food that works for you, instead of against you. Anyway, rewind to last Friday where I woke earlier than most days and had a couple of extra minutes to grab one of their Denver Breakfast Bar-Ritos. Still in somewhat a rush, I called at about 7:40 and asked if they were able to do a to-go order as I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough time to go into the store and wait for my Bar-Rito to be made. After a slight hesitation, the guy said sure, when will you be here? Fast forward 5 minutes, I arrive, walk into the store, and they have the Bar-Rito waiting for me nice and hot. Somewhat expensive as it turned out to be $ 7 something with tax, but it was well worth it. I unwrapped the beast at my desk and began noshing it down. The eggs were perfect, light and fluffy with a little density to them. The broccoli was well roasted and pieced into perfect chunks. The best part? It didn’t need any salsa or additional flavorings going down. What surprised me the most is that it kept me full and energized throughout lunch and into dinner. You know that feeling you get when you eat a traditional breakfast burrito? Kind of sluggish, full, lazy? Well this was the opposite. I can’t see myself eating here more than once a week, but my first breakfast experience was excellent and can’t wait to try another one of their breakfast Bar-Ritos.

My wife and I were in the neighborhood near dinnertime on a recent weekday evening, so we decided to check out the Protein Bar. We loved it! They had tons of gluten free options(a requirement for my wife, who has celiac disease). We both opted for bowls(a quinoa base, with lots of goodies on top), but we could have tried salads or chili instead. The food was really tasty and was served really quickly. This place isn’t fancy by any means — your food will come in a paper cup — but it doesn’t need to be. I don’t know a lot of places where I feel comfortable getting something tasty, healthy, and safe for my wife to eat, all served within a few minutes, but Protein Bar is now firmly on that list. I hope they open a location closer to our home in the south metro area in the future!

This place isn’t bad but I think I just had different expectations when I entered the shop. I ordered the Avo– Matcha smoothie and I honestly cannot complain about the taste at all. It was very delicious and satisfying. However, the reason I am giving this place 3⁄5 stars is because of the synthetic products that they use. Their protein is a general Whey brand protein and their nut milks are your typical«Silk”/ commercialized nut milks. For a few years now, I have tried my best to avoid preservatives and because of that, I am excited when I see local smoothie shops(because I expect most of their ingredients to be organic and fresh). Protein Bar, on the outside, appears to be your typically local smoothie shop that only uses freshly made goods(ie. freshly made almond milk, etc) but it is not. I usually will gladly pay $ 7 for a smoothie when the ingredients are preservative-free and fresh, but the price of the smoothie at Protein Bar is similar for ingredients that are synthetic. I probably won’t go back considering Jamba Juice or a similar chained smoothie shop probably uses the same ingredients and charge half the price.

Our non-profit loves Protein Bar! We schedule as many meetings as possible at this location because of their awesome service and kind employees. Plus, the location is super clean and a bright and enjoyable atmosphere! We have never had a bad meal here. We recommend the Guac-N-Roll or Superfood Vegan Salad or any of their awesome juices or smoothies… it’s all good!

So after hitting up BodyFat USA just a block or so from here I was feeling something healthy first, be4 stuffing my face after. lol It’s really a neat set up and their menu is on the wall. I’ts very roomy and so clean. I got a protein shake but instead of banana substituted it with strawberries. Well here is the verdict: Protein blueberry/strawberry shake — Mine our WAY better and it tasted honestly just above a notch of Met-RX, you know the nasty ones back in the 90’s. I would’ve thought that this place would have OFF the hook tasty shakes. Nope, taste like cheap powder, but then again I use good stuff like cellucor and nitrotech. Santa Fe Scramble bowl — Now this was actually pretty delicious! So this was worth it an very healthy too. All in all, when I get my BF tested again maybe I’ll try this place out and give it another go with the shake again, just to be fair.

Great healthy food! They use only whole food ingredients and gave me lots of ideas on protein shakes and wraps to make at home. The breakfast burrito was spicy and yummy! The protein shakes are fab. Would definitely come back. Nice environment as well!

Was in the area and looking for a quick, healthy breakfast… loved it! what is a good comparable place in LA? It is extremely helpful that that they list out the grams of protein in each item. The place was pretty empty at the time and our food was available very quickly. I got the Pesto Scramble and One El of an Oatmeal. Couldn’t finish them but enjoyed both. I’d definitely be coming here all the time if I lived there!

It’s like a healthy, larger variety version of Chipotle. For a fit young person like myself that doesn’t want to cook everything myself this place is perfect! One of its best qualities is it’s originality, I don’t know of a single place in Denver like it. Everything I have had has blown mind, juices and smoothies included! I love that use fresh veggies that are crunchy and full of flavor and organic chicken.

I wasn’t sure what to think about this place. Then I saw fellow Unilocaler, Kristy K checking in here and then read her review. I figured I just needed to get here and try it out. Once I did, I absolutely loved it. I’ve since come back a few times and the man likes it too and he’s picky about his food. I love the BBQ bar-rito and I have tried the Guac and Roll. I have also purchased the Guac and Roll without chicken for the man and he enjoyed it. I really, really like the food here. I have never found it bland, always very flavorful.

I frequent this place while in Denver because of their healthy yet still delicious selections. It is one of the only in Lo-Do although I feel as if more are opening everyday. I normally take it to go because it never seems to be busy in there(not that that is a bad thing). But the salads, bowls, and wraps are fantastic! Prices are mediocre for such a health conscious place, not too bad if you know you like the food!

What a waste of time! My review is not based on the food quality or taste. I drove out of my way to try this new place. I arrived at 12:18pm and waited in line to order. I get up to the cash register and was told they are only serving breakfast! It’s noon for heavens sake. They told me I could wait 20 min as they prepared for the lunch menu. I declined and walked out. They didn’t even apologize. At least put a sign on the door. I’ve heard great things about this place and I still want to try it but they need to get their stuff together. I hope the management sees this and responds to the reasoning why breakfast is served so late. I ended up eating at mod market. It’s right up the road.

Woohoo, Protein Bar has finally opened and it is awesome! I have been counting down the days ever since I started watching them set up shop. I started looking at the menu weeks ago and planning my first order. I actually went to bed excited last night knowing I would be going to Protein Bar for lunch today. As soon as it became an acceptable time to eat lunch, I mozied across the street and picked up a Spinach & Pesto Bowl. The Spinach & Pesto Bowl was great. It was the perfect portion… Not too small, not too big, just right. Ingredients were fresh and it left me very satisfied. The other menu items look awesome as well. They have smoothies, juices, wraps, bowls, and more. I will provide an update once I try more(so like next week). A nice perk worth mentioning is that you can order online to avoid long waits. It wan’t crowded at all when I went, granted it was pretty early, but I always like when places offer online ordering. Overall, I am super excited Protein Bar has found a spot in my neighborhood. I look forward to returning and trying more of their offerings.
