I eat here a few times a week and will continue to do so until I move out of the neighborhood. The prices are dirt cheap and the breakfast food is top notch. I’ve never tried the lunch or dinner entrée options, but I can attest to perfect eggs and potatoes the way I like them. The general manager is very friendly and apparently never takes vacations — it’s rare to eat at the restaurant when he’s not there.

If you are looking for a classic Greek diner, this is it. The interior is boring, to perfection, as would be expected. The location is great, except for parking. If you are lucky, you can snag a spot in the back. I get the greek salad with gyro and frickin’ love it. It is a lot of food. I haven’t tried anything else, however they have a great selection for those who aren’t interested in frickin’ great greek salad with gyro. Fast service. Servers are all business, with little smiles — just what you would expect from a dated greek diner on a college campus.

Just horrible… poor service, worse food… tell the skevey old guy in the corner(who apparently works here) to stop starring at us to please… just gross all around… I will never be back and would not send an enemy here.

Little hole in the wall type of place. Very typical breakfast items. We did not have to wait long to be seated and our food came out good. The place was busy but it wasn’t crowded so they were moving people in and out quickly. We just split the classic, just your normal breakfast. Pretty large portions though so that was great. If it’s one thing I would recommend is to maybe do a big wash of the place because it is generally sticky, the seats, floors, tables, etc. I’m sure it’s from syrup and things but a wipe down with a clean rag wouldn’t hurt too much. The place kind of smelled like old standing water. Other than that, good food! Try this place out.

University park salad with grilled chicken… Good lord. It was delicious and huge. Big enough for 2 to share.

Been going here for awhile. I enjoy its consistency and speed. That’s all I ask for in a diner. Food-7.5−8.2 Service-9 Seriously nice people.

For those of us that love a good diner, this is it! I’ve always had great food here, and the staff is very nice. I sit at the bar and my food is delivered pretty quickly, and still pipping hot. I love their breakfast burrito, of course smothered in Pork Green Chili, and find it to be more than I can eat at one sitting(and I can eat). I’d definitely recommend you go check this place out.

I’m somewhat of a fan of diners … and have eaten in hundreds of them through the years … my all-time favorite is Pete’s University Park Café, located in the DU-Observatory Park neighborhood in Denver. Pete’s has an expansive menu, with a vast array of Greek, Mexican and American options. Comfort food is the order of the day at Pete’s. One of the reasons that I find Pete’s so incomparable is the tremendous staff. Many(really, most) of the employees at Pete’s have worked for the diner for years. That alone is a testament to the place. The staff is always courtesy, friendly and highly capable. I’ve never given a 5-star rating … but, Pete’s deserves it.

I like Pete’s well enough. I have been eating here off and on for years. The food is always good, the service is hit or miss. The reason for the 3 stars is that it doesn’t always feel clean. I hadn’t eaten there in at least a year for that reason. I know it is near a college campus but that is no excuse not to wipe tables and mop floors. I will say they have the BEST Greek salad I’ve ever had, which makes me a little sad that I don’t want to eat there regularly. Oh well, it has been around so long it is an institution.

Okay food(extremely big portions but you can tell the quality of food isn’t there. The service isn’t that great either.

I went in early to study and have breakfast. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant but I was told that I couldn’t stay if it got busy. Was treated poorly while there because the waitress was upset that I was taking up a table even though there was no one else in the restaurant. I had to ask for coffee refills and the food wasn’t that great. I will not return to this establishment based on the way that I was treated.

We’ve driven by this place many times and finally decided to try it. I LIKEDIT! I got the gyro meat, it was as good as it gets. I can’t wait to try their other items. The décor is dated and it has kind of an «old» feel, but I didn’t mind. The food and service were great. Reasonable prices.

Everything here is wayyyy over cooked. Despite being dry, the Greek food is okay if you put extra tzatziki sauce on it. The breakfast is the worst food I’ve ever had. Ever. Everything was leathery, especially the croissant and eggs. Even my son’s grilled cheese was awful. the croissant, fries and hash browns all tasted exactly like each other. Also, every time we’ve gone(once a year) the staff acts very disappointed and annoyed we are there, even when we are just popping in for a pick up order. I don’t know how this place stays in business.

Darn good iced tea. Strong. Fresh brewed. Refreshing. One can tell a lot about a business by it’s iced tea. And biscuits and gravy. Pete’s University Park Café upholds the high standards of the whole Pete’s local franchise. This café is located near Denver University, at the corner of Evans and University. It has a wide variety of foods from Greek to breakfast to Mexican to vegetarian so everyone from children to students to older folks can find something deliciously edible. Coffee mugs and hot sauces, like the other Pete’s businesses, are available for purchase. Support local businesses. You’ll be glad you did.

A bit of a wait for a party of six, but that’s to be expected at any restaurant(and beats the hour wait at Jelly down the street). We loved the round table by the window at the back of the restaurant – plenty of room and just enough privacy to not be bothered by the hustle and bustle of the busboys and waiters. Loved that I could get a ½ order of the biscuits and gravy and really only be charged for half an order. The stuffed french toast turned out to be a mountain of crisped bread, cream cheese, and cinnamon apples, which was fine with me. My husband gave me the rest(1⁄3 of his meal), and it was great. My only regret was eating too much!

Great local spot! There is actually a parking lot, rare find for the area. Unfortunately when it is at capacity in the restaurant the waiting area is very small/not accommodating, because you have to stand there with your group, in order, there is no host taking names. The menu is a good size and good prices. I have tried the eggs benedict, gyro skillet, croissant sandwich, breakfast burritos, turkey melt, and my favorite is the eggs mazatlan! All meals are in the neighborhood of/under $ 10, great value. I tend to go here on weekend mornings, mildly hungover, and I leave cured! However, I wouldn’t bother ordering alcoholic drinks here. My bloody mary sucked. The service is consistent. There is a cute guy with tats, a woman with dark hair, and a girl with hipster glasses. They do the best they can, I think sometimes their sections are too full, I also think their outdated systems might make their jobs harder(old cash register, everything hand written). Highly recommend! Random fun fact: The owner Pete has a cool story, he came here from Greece as a teenager, for a little while he was an underwear model, at some point met the woman of his dreams. She told him if they were going to be together he would have to stop modeling underwear. He did so, they are still together to this day. He gradually worked his way up from dishwasher to multi-restaurant owner. He has several other locations all over Denver, all of which I have been to, all of which are good. Such a great guy, very involved with the community, a passionate individual and proof the American Dream is still alive!

Been coming here for 20 years for breakfast! Best place near DU! Thank you Petes for the years of delicious gyros and egg platters, great booths, consistent waitresses, and easiness on the old wallet! Feels like home!

I don’t understand why so many Greeks own American style deli restaurants. All I know is that the Farmers omelet is amazing and makes me a happy person. The service is usually quick, and there is an eclectic mix of customers from undergrads to retirees who hang out here. And the desserts are huge and yummy — and that’s what makes them so dangerous.
