Not horrible, but not great. I specifically brought in one piece to have them get all of the wrinkles out of it, the satin liner AND the velvet were done TERRIBLY. The satin liner is even more wrinkled than when I brought it in, and the velvet looks like it got wrung or something. The other clothes are so so, but I do not think I’ll be revisiting them, especially with their prices and lack of quality control. I went to them because I wanted an environmental friendly dry-cleaner, and they seemed to be the best choice. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

I HAD been going to McMahan for over 3 years spending hundreds of dollars a month. Even though they are expensive and I had never really been super happy with their work(wrinkled shirts), they were always pretty nice and I wanted to support the neighborhood business. This week I tried to drop off another $ 200 load of dry cleaning and the woman gave me so much attitude I couldn’t take it anymore. They certainly lost my business.

I can only speak for Men’s clothes. You can get a coupon on the website at that makes the shirts laundered at $ 1.85. It’s the best in town(that I know of) at that price. They do a very nice job on dress pants at $ 6.00.

I’ve been to lots of cleaners over the past 9 years. I started coming into this location of McMahan recently and was surprised to find that the quality of what I got back was actually much higher than other cleaners I’ve been to. Who knew that was even possible? Specifically, the pressing of my dress shirts has been stellar. I wear french cuffs, and this is the first place where they actually shape the cuffs like they took some care with them. In addition, when I got my suit back, the arms were stuffed with filler paper to help the hold shape. For better or worse on the environment, this is attention to detail I haven’t seen before. Now, cleaning the suit was $ 13, and for a jacket only $ 10 which seems like a lot, but I’ve not really compared, as I never paid much attention to per-piece pricing before. I do know the shirts are $ 1.75 with the coupon and $ 1.95 without. That seems to be competitive for the neighborhood.

In my quest to find a decent dry cleaners, I have frequently been using McMahan’s because it is close. I wouldn’t say cheap, but it is close. They have always been on time and the help is quiet and doesn’t say much… of anything. I don’t think we have ever exchanged words except for«Last name?» and the price. My clothes have ended up okay except for one of my dresses, in which the leather on the two-inch button looks like it was gnawed on by a hungry dog. I either have to replace the button or buy some of that great 1980’s infomercial fake leather goo to fix it. Buttons that size: around $ 12 – 15, so I’m not too happy– and I didn’t notice it until a month or so later after I picked it up, so they couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything like a refund. This place isn’t bad but also don’t like taking my dry cleaning here, for some reason. It’s not«the one.» And after the button incident, I haven’t been back, but if I have to, I’ll use it. Sigh.
