This is one of my favorite breakfast-on-the-go spots. Martine is so wonderful! My favorite is the Veggie Burrito!

Stopped by twice. First time had a handwritten note on the door saying they were closed for vacation. They next time they were just closed. Pretty crap way to handle a business.

Martine no longer owns this place, but her quality has been maintained. My understanding is that she has sold her recipes to the new ownership and they are not changing any of her existing items, only adding new items to the menu. I have been here twice since the new ownership and I think both times it came out the same as it did before. Some of the employees have stayed the same, so that is a relief! The new employees have been friendly too. If you have not been here before, the lunch items are amazing, especially the salads. Typically I have some piece of me that feels silly paying for a salad at a restaurant because they tend to be plain and overpriced — that is not a concern here. They have a variety of roasted veggies and interesting flavor combinations. One salad is enough for me to have some for lunch and bring home for my husband & I to share for a dinner side. I can just cook up some chicken or something and the house salad complements it. The baked goods are also giant. Some of the muffins are really more like cupcakes and have just the right amount of icing. I am frankly not a fan of the cookies, I think they are just not as sweet as I would like cookies to be, so if you are not a fan of really sweet tastes, the cookies would be perfect for you. I swear, they are not as sweet as they look. I think it would be too warm to eat inside generally, and there is not a whole lot of space. Outside there are a few small tables, there is also massive construction happening in the parking lot next door, so take out is the way to go until the construction is completed.

Probably the best muffins I have ever had in my entire life! So moist and full of flavor! She has different flavors everyday and they change with the seasons as well. The breakfast burritos are also delicious! She uses seasoned hash browns with fresh eggs, cheese and your choice of meat. Martinez and her staff are always very friendly and welcoming!

Just ate there for my first time. I would have never found the place if I had not asked a stranger on the street if they knew where it was located. The place is small, but the food is BIG. The sandwiches are very fresh and all the items have just the right amount of herbs and spices. The carrot soup was magnificent. The seating is limited and don’t expect to be bowled over by the elegance of the place. It’s the food quality that sells this place … and the owner Martine. What a great personality. I will definitely go back there again.

There aren’t enough synonyms for how lovely this place is. It is tucked around the back of a building and has very little seating, but Maritine’s wares are incredible. Try a fresh warm scone in the morning, or come at lunch for a tomato soup that will change your entire soup paradigm. The woman is an artist who loves her craft and loves people. Go there now.

Such a wonderful gem in the heart of the city! Customer service is not only the best thing they do here, but roasted veggie breakfast burritos, cookies and muffins! They make a bacon pancake muffin that is incredible! Cool to think they used to make muffins for whole foods then finally opened their doors to the public. I will be back for the great prices, service and food!!!

This is such a cute little hidden gem! I found this place on Unilocal and decided to come here for breakfast one morning. The muffins were nicely displayed and the owner was so friendly. I tried the matcha white chocolate muffin and it was delicious! It was nice and crispy on the edges of the muffin top and soft and moist in the middle. Because we ate in the shop the owner heated the muffin up for me. The baked goods aren’t super expensive either. Highly recommend!

This bakery is a little gem hidden in cap hill! So why’d I knock off a star? I’ll tell you up front, it’s not because their food has ever been anything short of delicious(although ONCE I went and get a pumpkin cream cheese scone they had forgotten to put the cream cheese in, which was sad yet STILL satisfying when I got to work!). Rather, this bakery doesn’t have the space or resources to do puff pastry. Thus, they don’t do any of the french pastries; no croissants, pain au chocolate, no choux pastries even! As a frenchman in Denver, I was somewhat disappointed that a baker as talented as Martine hadn’t tried to make this work yet. They’d be a hit! On the other hand, I have tried basically everything that comes out of her oven(except the cookies, but they look like they’re done right!). The scones are a meal in and of themselves, people aren’t lying when they say BIG. Not overwhelmingly so, I’d still eat 2 if I had less regard for my pant size, but 1 is plenty for a light breakfast. Pumpkin cream cheese and blueberry are both amazing! her muffins would be big for home-made muffins, and they’re top shelf. Just. Pancake muffin. do it. thank me later. One other note; this is a bakery. not a caffe. Once in my uncaffinated state, Martine offered me a coffee to go with my scone, and I said«why not?» They have a grinder… with the hopper filled with pre-ground beans… that I’m pretty sure are more than a day old. I guess they’re still figuring out this part of their operation. Go to Pablo’s for the coffee, but LOVEOFGODGETTHESCONESHERE!

MAPLEBACONMUFFIN. ITSBREAKFASTIN A CAKE. it’s amazing. I eat like 9 of them. What a delightful surprise in every way. It’s actually really cute how Martines is tucked away and like this cute little treasure trove when you walk in. Her pastries are truly delicious. I bought a huge box for the office and she was a huge hit. I definitely recommend Martines! And don’t give up when you go looking! It’s worth it!

These baked goods are huge!!! I went with a pancake bacon muffin and a wild blueberry scone. Of course I could barely finish half of my muffin. The muffin was moist, not too crumbly, had a pancake like flavor to it. There was bacon in it and on top, also on top was a vanilla dollop of icing. Overall the muffin was good, but I would like some maple flavoring in there, just a tad. I tasted the scone, and it was really good. Fresh blueberries were used, the scone itself had a great flavor to it, not sweet, more of a biscuit. And it was bigger than the muffin! Martine is a wonderful, polite lady. And her baked goods should make her proud. If I’m craving a cookie, I should come here too. There are a few parking spots and she is in the alley, don’t miss it!

I realized that after years of Martine’s muffins in my belly, I have never written a review. Shame on me… or perhaps I just wanted to secretly keep it to myself? I have never had anything here that I did not love. In fact, I have turned many skeptics of a «parking lot bakery» into believers, die hards, and preachers of Martine’s delicacies! Plus, who doesn’t love the idea of throwing«a whole bunch of lemon pie» into some batter and pulling out a pink lemonade muffin out of the oven! Get off your computer/phone/tablet and get there now!

Tried an apple berry and peach scones, both were delicious with some butter and jam. I was also expecting the price to be much higher, but I think I only spent 5 dollars and could barely finish one scone because it was so filling! I will definitely becoming back here and I recommend you check this adorable bakery out!!!

If I had the time to come in every morning I definitely would! I love Martine’s! And Martine is so sweet. She definitely knows her way around a kitchen. From the muffins to the breakfast burritos everything she makes is pretty much amazing. Try the red velvet muffin if it’s available!

FINALLY I get to write a good review for a restaurant in Denver!!! Martine’s is just wonderful. Of the 12 – 15 items I have tried(not all muffins, lol) only one was slightly disappointing, the rest ranged from good to awesome. By far my fav was the pink lemonade muffin. First of all, these are not *really muffins, they are more like a cross between a muffin and cupcake. Or as one middle aged gentleman out to eat with his wife explained to the waitress(as my partner and I barely held back our laughter), they are more of a muffcake. Well, I love my pretty pink muffcake. It was amazing. The muffin flavors do rotate daily, so be aware if you have a favorite that you may want to call ahead. They tend to sell out fast as well. By noon they are down to about 15% of those lovely fresh daily muffins. The quiche here is also excellent. As an experienced pastry baker, I must say I was blown away by the crust. They have perfected the butter/shortening blend that I thought I was happy with at home. The soups are also great. The vegetarian breakfast burrito was so-so, but that’s the one complaint regarding quality. I was kinda disappointed with the birthday cake muffin, as it was all white with rainbow colored sprinkles(childish, I know, but yummy) but when I jumped in with a big bite it had chocolate chips inside. My vanilla-only expecting brain balked a bit. But that is a matter of personal preference, not quality. The in-house seating is very, very limited, so be ready to take home if you are just getting muffins, or to wait a bit if you want to sit. All in all, I’m definitely a fan. Way to go, Martine!

My new favorite place! Martine’s Muffins is tucked away in an alley and is not visible from Lincoln. Keep looking – it’s definitely worth the search! Martine is delightful, and her scones have made it on to my list of favorite things to eat of all time. The scones have a satisfying crunch on the outside, but are soft and dense on the inside, with just the right amount of scone crumble. The flavors change daily, are creative, and full of quality ingredients. I especially love the blackberry coconut scone. And the scones are huge – the biggest I’ve ever seen. I didn’t want to write a review until I tried a muffin, and, happily, the muffins are spectacular too. So moist, such creative flavors, and a big range of flavors. I sampled a classic flavor, milk chocolate chip. All of the muffins have a little dollop of frosting on top, which I wasn’t sure about, but the dollop was delicious, and the frosting dollop adds an extra little flair to the muffins. Lunch is a great deal, and, like the baked goods, the lunch items are made with quality ingredients and care. Lots of options: sandwiches, soups, salads, and quiches. The ooey gooey grilled cheese with tomato soup was especially satisfying on a cold day and even came with chips. Seating is limited, so eating in with any more than two other people would be hard. There are a couple of small tables available outside. Parking is limited too. You might get lucky and get a parallel parking spot right in front of Martine’s, but more likely, you’ll need to park on Lincoln or 7th. Martine’s has gluten free and sugar free treats available. I haven’t sampled those yet, but plan to eventually work my way through the menu. One of the salads will be my next target, along with another scone.

Lord, it’s been probably 30 years since I’ve seen Martine. I’ve followed her all over town because the woman seriously knows her way around a kitchen(particularly a bakery kitchen). Oh, the calories I’ve ingested over the years from her handiwork. Anyway, I’d lost track of her. I think she was mostly doing wholesale for a while there but just read not that long ago that she’d opened a new little retail muffin shop at 700 Lincoln(actually kind of in the alley/parking lot behind). Pretty out of the way so I hadn’t been in but just heard she was opening for lunch. Yesterday was her first day. So, off my Thursday lunch date and I ventured to find her today. So glad we did. Lunch was really terrific. Now remember you’re going for the food because her«dining room» is really just the front of her wholesale bakery business and consists of a couple of counters and some bar stools. Industrial chic — lol! She was waiting tables and filling orders. Nice to see her again. She has more personality packed into a small package than anyone else I know. Menu is pretty«lunchy» — soups(roasted tomato or spicy black bean today), salads with homemade dressings, the quiche of the day, a variety of burritos with green chili, and some hot sandwiches. Of course there is a counter of her cookies, cupcakes and muffins if you’ve saved room. Bev had the spinach quiche which came with a perfectly fresh, crisp little salad with some very tasty honey mustard dressing($ 6.75). I out ordered her though. The club sandwich — real roasted chicken and ham off the bone, honey pepper bacon, melted Havarti, lettuce, tomato and her house made mayo all grilled up on sourdough(comes with chips). Oy! Am I full. Not much of a sandwich lover but it tasted just like one my mom would have made.($ 7.75) Bev snagged a couple of cupcakes to go and we were full and happy and less than $ 20 lighter. I think she does a brisk carryout business. Several folks stopped in to pick up to-go lunch orders. Food is terrific. Parking sucks but it’s worth the hassle. Check her out and tell her Bev and Dave said HI! and thanks for a great lunch.

Based on the Unilocal reviews, I made a point to try Martines. I normally find scones to be too thick and dry. These scones are incredible! After a great first experience, I placed a special order for work. I brought warm, fresh scones to my coworkers who can not stop talking about them! Now I am volunteered for all morning activities to bring scones since I am the closest to Martines! I have only had the scones but the muffins are beautiful, as are all of the baked goods.
