Laurie King – Re/max Southeast

Just wanted to share my experience. Myself and friend who are looking for a place stumbled apon this add
When first meeting Laurie King and seeing the property a few things were clear. The house was nice and mostly refinished inside. However the property consists of a all gravel driveway and the garage and most of the land and garage is currently being used by the quite rude neighbor who is apparently disguntal about loosing his place to paint openly (if you have kids or pets you might want to avoid paint fumes passing along your house), and do other assorted odd repairs. The garage is completely unfinished with a dirt floor and about a 2 – 3 inch drop down into the garage. There is also a small attached room to the garage about the size of 2 queen size beds where Laurie plans to rent out in the future as well as the other 2 sheds on the property. There is no fenced in yard. MOST IMPORTANTLY: this place is listed as $ 1800 a month for a 3 bedroom including one garage space. However when we informed Laurie that 3 people would be moving in she informed us the rent would then be $ 2100. And it is standard for her to charge between a extra $ 100-​$ 300 for a additional person… So basically if 2 people move into a 3 bedroom it’s $ 1800. If 3 people move into a 3 bedroom it’s $ 2100??? Upon being confronted with this tonight she quickly back pedaled and said «I was just throwing it out there, it’s not like I’m not willing to negotiate». She quickly backed down to the original $ 1800 and then proceeded to attempt to show the 3 of us the place dispite our hesitance. 15 minute of her arguing with the strange guy who hangs around the property later we decided to leave. She had not processed any of our applications as she said multiple times before however when politely asked to return the $ 30 application fee (that on her application says $ 25) seeing as she hadn’t processed any of them she refused and claimed she didn’t have money and quickly got in her car and left. End of the story do not rent from Laurie King or the property 2480 iris street in Lakewood without being first warned.

As a person who has purchased a couple of homes and has delt with a number of realtors, I cannot speak highly enough about Laurie King! We were referred to her by accident, but it was the best accident possible. She works all over the Denver area. And has been incredible about helping us go through the process of purchasing a home while we are out of state. She is intelligent and treats her clients with respect. We haven’t closed yet, but I don’t foresee my opinion going down much. If you are purchasing a home in the Denver Area. Contact her. You won’t be disappointed.
Although I have heard that she can be busy. So call before she fills up!
