Stephani, the owner of the salon, contacted me and offered me a refund after my negative experience which was greatly appreciated. She was on vacation at the time I visited Jua and so that’s why my issue was not really addressed at the time I was there. I’m sure there are many other fantastic hair stylists working out of Jua, I just had an extremely awful experience with Melanie that I wrote about down below. But the salon does have great customer service and overall, don’t let my experience with Melanie as my stylist tarnish the entire salon’s reputation.

Denise at Jua is the best! She is incredibly skilled and gets you in and out quickly (great when you are dashing in on your lunch break!). She is very patient and persistent with achieving whatever look you are wanting. I just discovered on my last visit that they also have waxing services, looking forward to checking this out so I can have a one-​stop shop.

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored, and having my eyebrows waxed with Erin Frost for several months now and I have been happy each and every time I meet with her. She is incredibly skilled, stays up to date with styles and techniques, and is very detailed in her work. I have very fine hair and she knew what styles to work with, what to avoid and how to give my hair more oomph (techniques I have never seen before!) She never rushes through and makes sure everything is perfect. If you know what you want, she will make sure to adhere the cut or color to you, so it’s not just a copied style that doesn’t work.

Finding a stylist in a new city is one of the worst (first world problem, I totally get it) things to have to do. I still have not found my salon. Though I’ve only tried with this one. And honestly, it wasn’t that bad. She did what I wanted. I’m just not dying to go back.
First off, every stylist in JUA has their own business. So you book with the salon, but you pay your stylist.
Second, it’s PACKED in there. I didn’t really feel relaxed during my services like I have in previous (most other) salons I’ve been to.
When I walked in, I had no idea who to talk to to tell I had arrived. There was some waify blonde woman walking around, and I spoke with her eventually but boy was she rude. That was not the way to start my appointment.
This was my first instance in having my hair cut dry — I can’t say I prefer it at all. Could be because every other haircut in my entire life (save for when I cut off my own bangs, twice, dry) was done wet, so that’s what I’m used to, but I dunno. I didn’t like it.
My stylist was actually very nice, we had a good conversation, and I showed her two different styles I was considering. We chose one together, and let’s just say this was the haircut of that style that I have since said: «This is the haircut that will remind me to never ever get my hair cut like that again.» I’m not sure if my hair texture is changing as I get older or what, but it just did not suit me anymore.
As I said above, she did what I wanted, she didn’t butcher it or anything. And it’s grown out quite nice. But I think I’ll find another salon for my next attempt at a haircut.

I met with stylist Erin Frost after I purchased a Groupon and was very happy with the service I received from Erin! Not only was she able to schedule me with a short notice, she did a great job consulting and helping me pick out a hair color. As far as my haircut, she did everything as we discussed and it turned out amazing. She gives great scalp massages too which is an added plus — I WILL be returning again. Thank you Erin!

DJ is Internationally known for his design and color techniques… I am so proud to have him design my hair. Always the BEST… Thank you DJ…

Trina Lone is wonderful! Best facials I have ever received. Never felt so cared for! Like a baby. Completely in an euphoric haze after she’s done and she still cleans out the pores! Relaxing and calming. She is knowledgable, helpful, and beyond caring, so passionate about her work. I like that she is curious about your diet which gives a more holistic approach, coaching on what should change about diet to help with skin. Uses plant based products which have delightful aroma as well as hydrating, leaving the skin soft and supple with no irritation (I have sensitive skin, so this is major ++)

I came to Jua Salon six months after my former hair stylist butchered my hair. I met with Tami for a free consultation the day before my actual hair cut appt. She went over what I had problems with and what I would like to achieve from our appt. She reassured me that she would be able to help me get back to where I wanted to be. She was patient and showed me exactly what she was doing, putting my mind at ease that I would not end up with a terrible cut again. My hair looks great and I am on the road to hair recovery. I would highly recommend Tami, especially if you have long hair. Thank you so much Tami!

I called Jua to see if Lindsay could happen to fit me in same day, since I got off work unexpectedly early. When I called, the receptionist put me on hold to check Lindsay’s schedule. Then she comes back to ask me my name, and puts me on hold for another minute. Then comes back to say she doesn’t have availability. How transparent is that, that I am not an important enough client to fit it? I mean, that’s fine if she just says «Sorry she’s booked all day.» I get it. But she had to have a conversation about who it was before making a decision? That pretty much made me feel like crap. Bottom line is, I like her hair cut, but she’s a drop in an ocean of hair stylists, and should probably remember that.

I was referred to Jua Salon by a girlfriend who always looks great wherever we go. But I wasn’t sure which stylist to go to as my friend has short blonde hair and I have long, thick brunette hair.
I called Jua Salon and spoke briefly to the receptionist who recommended Karen for my hair style. Thank goodness she did! I absolutely adore Karen! She listened to everything I said I wanted and followed through perfectly! Even got my hair color exactly right, which has been hard for other stylists to do in the past.
I highly recommend Jua Salon and especially Karen!

Great Salon. Jade is a consummate professional and very sweet. The Salon is comfortable and all of the staff are friendly.

I was referred to Trina by a friend and must say — she is incredible! Super thorough, friendly and she has the most comforting, relaxing touch. When I left I literally felt like I had been to a yoga class, a massage and a facial I was so relaxed! I’ve already booked a follow-​up appointment. Only drawback was that she was running a little bit behind schedule — not a big deal on a weekday at 6, but could be an issue to others. As for me, Trina is the godsend I’ve been looking for!

D.J. TAYLOR– truly has a gift. Loves what he does. When he was done with my hair, I teared up a little b/​c I felt so pretty. Happy tears! Yay for D.J.

Trina Lone is one great esthetician. I found Jua Salon on Groupon and even though the price of my facial was half the price of her normal facials, I felt like I got the full service +. I walked away with my skin still thoroughly exfoliated, extracted and smoothed, yet super hydrated.
I could tell that Trina truly cares and loves what she does. She’s very kind, friendly, professional, and passionate about her work, so I felt so comfortable with her right away.
I am definitely going back next time I am in Denver. :)

Krystle Frizzell is a Color/​Style GENIUS!!! Love my Brazilian blow out and my color. I have been going to Krystle for 2 years and she never misses. Krystle is on top of all trends and styles, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a great salon. I really like my highlights/​lowlights, and Krystle was really great. She was laid back and really listened to what I like and didn’t like about my current hair. It’s a nice environment too, which adds to the experience. I will be back!

This review is for Selina at Jua. She listens!!! I have been in Denver for 2.5 years and until I found Selina I went to 4 other hair dressers, one of which was also at Jua, and no one could get my color right. I am a level 7 dark blonde, my hair can and does lift to a level 11, I would bring in a picture of MYSELF to all these people and they still could not get it right.
I’ve seen Selina three times now and I waited to write this review to make sure she was consistent and she is. I am so totally happy with my color, she gets me as blonde as I want and is meticulous with her work.

Bummer… no more Mari. No more waxing AT ALL. They got rid of the little wax-​on, hair-​off (say it like Mr. Miyagi-​san) spot in the back and turned it into a spray-​tanning room? Not so well thought out, in my opinion. The Cherry Creek Cougars are NOT going to pop in for an on-​the-​fly bronzing while their highlights are… highlighting. Or whatever it is they do when they’re all foiled up like that.
However, they MIGHT have popped in for an on-​the-​fly eyebrow touchup. Alas, no mas.
I’ll leave three neutral stars in place because I’ve never actually had my hairs done here… but if you want to see Mari for some primo hair removal (or facials, or lash extensions, or mani-​pedis), she’s just around the corner at Personal Touch Salon on 2^nd and Steele. Tell her Kym B. sent ya!
