I’m sorry to see this place closed. We went twice this summer for dinner in the lounge using a Living Social coupon. They had free parking in the Beauvallon garage. The service was friendly and attentive. The food came out fast. The food was pretty and a work of art. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was to die for. I could have eaten one order as a meal. The Electric Eel and Bruce Lee Rolls were good. I wish I could find another restaurant like this. It loses a star for value, but the food was so good.

I was getting more than a little stir crazy by the end of the week — I needed to escape my sequestration, you know, to be around people, cut loose and have some fun. My anticipation for going out was extreme, not only because I was going out with good friends, but also because we were headed to Japoix. First you must park; unless of course you live in the Beauvallon, in which case you can take the elevator down to Japoix since it is housed on the first floor of this most gruesome faux-French erection of a building. On Friday and Saturday valet is available and there is secret parking too, but you must drive British style in order to take advantage of that. The main entrance is clearly marked and the restaurant opens up to reveal a striking modern space. Intimate booths line one wall of the restaurant which can make for a perfect tête à tête with your mistress on Friday or your wife on Saturday. At the back is where you will find the bar where I had the best company in the house and was ready to break out of my monastic work week seclusion. Immediately upon sitting down, we were greeted by our server. I started off with the house red, a friend had a house chardonnay, and another wanted to try the Electric French Kiss. The electric part of the French Kiss cocktail has to do with the inclusion of the gimmicky electric button flower to the drink. It is supposed to tingle and numb the back of your throat or tongue I guess. Since I am not a girl, I didn’t order it. My friend said there was a little tingling, but mostly it just tasted kind of bad. The wine was pretty darn good and went down a little too quickly… and I felt the need for something stronger so I switched to my routine drink of choice, scotch. JW Black was reasonably priced and each one tasted really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really good. ;) To supplement our libations we added food; every responsible drinker does. I love sharing small plates and Japoix is the absolute perfect place to do so. Over the course of the evening we sampled enough offerings to get a good feel for the capabilities of the kitchen. First up, Electric Eel Roll — it’s a traditional sushi roll of barbequed eel with the addition of the previously described electric button flower. It was pleasing, but it didn’t have enough of the eel which I love. Instead for my taste there was an overabundance of avocado. While we were perusing the menu to decide what to have next, we were presented with an amuse-bouche of the rock shrimp mac-n-cheese. This was awesome! I love mac-n-cheese and this version was done right and the little taste was just enough of a tease and served to set expectations for the rest of the food we were about to enjoy. Due to our indecision and the spirited talk we were enjoying, we paid no attention to the menu for too long. We quickly ordered the edamame which was the perfect salty snack to accompany our drinking binge. OK, so we got serious(not really) and ordered the braised pork belly — basically, I tasted fat. This was really the only food miss of the evening. Next up in no particular order: Le Duck Rolls — this was basically an egg roll with roast duck, pretty darn tasty, but the egg roll wrapper was way too thick. Seared Tenderloin was my favorite dish. The presentation was that of a salad, with watercress covering the glazed meat, and was topped with a crumbled goat cheese. Quite good and a nice foil to some of the heavier dishes we tried. Then the Bao Bun Sliders with rock shrimp — the rock shrimp was just the right amount of spicy. Another winner from the kitchen! We also tried the calamari; I would recommend skipping it unless you’re in the mood. Finally out came a crème brûlée which was lumpy. Not the best attribute in a crème brûlée. Seven hours later we ended our happy ‘hour’(kind of like this review!). The service was friendly and prompt, we didn’t have any complaints in that department at all. Our server was professional, but also chimed in with an opinion when asked on Zooey Deschanel. Cool. Japoix was on my short list of restaurants to try because the type of cuisine, pan-Asian or Asian fusion, when done right is perhaps my favorite. The interpretation of Asian cuisine with French twists and classic techniques in a talented chef’s kitchen gets my heart racing and makes my taste buds soar; think of star chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten or Denver’s Lon Symensma of ChoLon, both masters of this type of cooking. Chef Matt Schaerer is tasked with bringing that type of excellence to Japoix and indeed it is a tall order. While not quite reaching the imposing heights of the aforementioned gurus, Chef Schaerer’s execution at Japoix succeeds more often than not. The difference may be that Japoix is not a chef-driven restaurant, but rather a high concept restaurant that is run quite well by restaurateur Lawrence Yee.

On a visit back to Denver I stopped here for happy hour with my girl friends. I got 1. The Duck Love Fried Rice — this was the best dish we ordered… I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing 2. Electric Eel Roll and Bruce Lee Roll — I can’t even remember the difference between either roll because both were pretty terrible. I could barely taste the«fish» in either one and the rice was too thick. Both were unflavorful to say the least 3. Bao Bun Sliders — Kobe Beef + Rock Shrimp — not bad, not great. 4. The Electric Button Shot — of course, I HAD to try one of these. Chewing the flower for the shot is absolutely the worst thing in the world but I agree, the shot makes your mouth tingle and it’s a pretty cool feeling… I’m not sure I could bear to do it again though

My boyfriend and I were in Denver this past weekend for a very good friend’s wedding and our friend raves about Japoix so we had to stop by for a dinner. Our server for the evening was Wolfgang, and he was awesome. Wolfgang helped us with menu suggestions, and he was also friendly and attentive throughout our meal. For appetizers, we ordered their tempura rock shrimp and a side of seaweed salad. My boyfriend and I shared a teapot of their chai. For dinner, we ordered the 8oz steak filet(served on their special hot rocks) which also came with an order of French fries and the«Le Duck»(half roasted duck, cherry hoisin, steamed buns). We had the English Toffee Cake for dessert. Every dish was simply delicious. For the restaurant being a French and Japanese fusion restaurant, we thought the portions would be small but they were quite generous. Also, I typically don’t like Asian fusion but I thought that Japoix’s food was high quality, flavorful and unique while still doing a great job of keeping aspects of the traditional flavors. The owner/manager stopped by our table towards the end of the meal, and he was also very friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. If you check in to Japoix on Unilocal with your Unilocal app, you can even get a free dessert! With their impeccable service and superb food, Japoix really hits the spot. We don’t get out to Denver often but we will definitely be going to Japoix again the next time we are in Denver, and I would highly recommend you try out their food!

I’ve never had a bad experience at Japoix. It’s your trendy asian fusion bistro, but executed fairly well. The front is a large dining room with tables and booths setup. In the back they have a large square bar with stools but also have some lounge space as well. This would be a great place to go to for date night. All of their signature cocktails I’ve tried have been good or better. Some of their concoctions come with an «electric button», it’s part of a flower that when you eat it, makes your tongue tingle and then go numb for a bit. Wild. Food here has been consistently good. Not«amazing I have to eat here every meal from now on» but very likable. Of particular note, I think their house salad is probably my perfect salad. Everything is the right size(no gigantic unwieldy pieces of lettuce or croutons), the salad dressing has just the right amount of spicy kick to it, and the overall composition is great. If I had to pick one thing to get here time and time again, it’d be their house salad. That being said, their tacos are great if you want a snack at the bar. The half duck was delicious and comes out still on the bone; as opposed to shaved like most peking duck. The seabass is a smaller portion but is pretty damn tasty. Again, not a place I’d be dying to come back to every week(budget certainly wouldn’t allow for it) however, I wouldn’t be opposed if someone suggested it.

Five stars just does not do Japoix justice, in my opinion. I’ve been back several times in the last six months or so, and I love the food, the drinks, the service, and the ambience, in no particular order. On one visit we had a tasting menu groupon, which was great because it made us finally try something other than the hot rock. I had the sea bass and loved it– the beer marinade/sauce of Great Divide Samurai isn’t too strong and the fish is perfect. My fiancé had the duck and said it was great as well, and duck is hard to do correctly. Both the spinach beet and house salads are great, and the miso soup is some of the best I’ve had. Oh, and the toffee cake. If ever a dessert was going to make me pull a «When Harrry Met Sally» moment in a restaurant, this would be it. Their amazing happy hour has made us try several appetizers, and I can know vouch for the edamame beans(free at the bar!), calamari, spicy tuna roll and tempura vegetables as well as the rock shrimp. Drink prices are great during happy hour as well. I had family in town mid-March, so we obviously took them to Japoix. Everyone loved their orders, from my mom’s spinach salad with chicken teriyaki to my aunt’s Japoix burger. The burger is insane– Kobe beef, cheese, avocado, an egg, bacon, oh, and slices of steak. Apparently it’s awesome. I had the lemongrass grilled salmon; the lemongrass complimented the fish well, and the jasmine fried rice and bok choy were also delicious. Service is usually great, and on the rare occassion they mess up, they fall over backwards to fix it. Favorite place in Denver? Yes, I think so.

Five stars, and I’d give it more if I could. I first discovered Japoix last year at the Unilocal elite events. The happy hour like food was fine, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, but I was nervous to come it for dinner, given the dearth of vegetarian options on the regular menu. I mentioned this to the owner, and he said that if we let someone know when we made reservations, their chef was absolutely able to be a vegetarian’s new best friend. Fast forward a few months. My partner had a tough week, and I wanted to surprise her with a nice yummy, fish filled dinner(she’s a pescatarian) at a place that was both swanky and yet relaxed enough for her to wear jeans. Japoix is nearby, and I realized I’d never been back to test the owner’s words, so to OpenTable I went, making a note about my vegetarian-ness. The dining area is gorgeous, and looks exactly how I’d want my dining room to look in my dream house; reds, dark woods and damask accents, with fresh flowers on the table, all joining together to make it feel warm and cozy. We started with iced teas, and«Electric Button» shots; which are crazy brilliant. Basically, you chew this little flower, your mouth goes all tingly and then bam, you drink citrus flavored alcohol to compound the experience. As my reviews suggest, I’m not a big drinker, so when I DO drink, I want it to be FABULOUS. The electric button? It was FABULOUS. The amuse bouche was a fried tempura avocado and button mushroom with a siracha(but not super spicy) sauce — clearly, someone had listened to my notes on my reservation. Delicious, as all fried things should be. We followed that with their veggie tempura, some of the best I’ve ever had. The tempura batter is much lighter than many places, and the dashi sauce on the side was quite tasty. I even ate the mushrooms, which I usually avoid as they soak up so much oil. Not here — they too were delicious. Now, we hadn’t planned on edamame. Steamed soybeans are so trendy down that even Noodles and Co has them; why even bother? Why indeed; Japoix coats their edamame in a delicious, succulent sauce. I want to say shallot and ginger hit my taste buds, but it was so much more than that. Truly yummy and unique, as far as soybeans go. For the meal, I got the Spinach Salad and the veggie sushi roll. Nothing fancy, but the Spinach salad was a) huge for the price($ 6) and b) much more creative than the usual leaf/cheese/nut combo. Spinach leaves, haystack goat cheese, orange segments, fresh cooked beets and a combo of ground nuts and ramen noodles for a sassy crunch. Add their sweet and sour dressing, and it was all I could do to not lick the bowl. I even resorted to my fork(rather than chopsticks) so that I didn’t miss any. The veggie sushi was your normal vegetable rolls, but with the added texture/flavor of white quinoa. YUM! I asked my partner if she’d like to try my salad, and I quote«I’m sure it tastes nice and stuff, but I need to keep the taste of THIS *points to her plate* in my mouth for as long as possible.» Why is «THIS» you may ask? The grilled salmon, completed with coconut jasmine rice(perfectly cooked and very fragrant), charred bok choy, an edamame purée and a thai curry sauce. My partner told me the fish was cooked to perfection, and she was oohing and ahing the whole meal. I have never, in our entire time together, seen her become this excited and passionate about food. I half wished I ate fish, just so I could have tasted it. Let me tell you, that plate was spotless by the time it was taken away. Dessert was good, though not nearly as exciting and amazing as the meal. I got the Chai Crème Brulee, which was good, but not chai-ee enough for my taste, and being served in a soup cup mean the crunchy sugar to creamy goodness ratio was off. My love enjoyed the English Toffee Cake, which was actually very moist and delicious, but they were out of the fleur de sel ice cream, and I feel like that would have really made the dish. We will definitely be back again. My mother in law is in town in April, and I know we’ll have to take her to Japoix, especially since they told me they could make me a vegetarian hot rock dish for my next visit. My partner has already told me she plans to take me here for my birthday, and her birthday, and our anniversary, and… well, it’s definitely a new favorite for us. As a side note, the service was beyond impeccable, but I had far too many good things to say about the food to really bring it up. That being said, our iced tea was always filled, our table cleared, and our server knowledgeable.

Thank you Japoix for one of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had! The restaurant itself is very modern and upscale looking. The food — even more amazing! First off, I must tip my hat to Josh, our waiter, for recommending phenomenal options from their menu. The electric french kiss… out of this world! Must try it! We also had the edamame which is not just your normal edamame. Also had the Kobe steak which is an experience in itself! They brought out a hot lava rock and I got to cook the meat myself! Out of the three sauces, my favorite was the sweet and sour chili. Along with the steak we got some sushi rolls as well which were beyond amazing. All of this was topped off by a little crème brûlée and strawberry cake ice cream anc champagne. Delicious! Overall, this restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever been to. The experience was fantastic, the staff — excellent, and the food I have no words for… yep, that good! I will definitely be returning!

The coconut bisque was oh so yummy just like our cute waiter said it would be. The bass was cooked perfectly. We had a Groupon and it was a preset meal. There were two of us and we each got an appetizer, a soup(yum), a salad, main dish and one dessert we shared. We both had the same soup and bass. We shared the rock shrimp and Tempura. The tempura was not as tasty as it could have been but the sauce on the side helped. The ice cream dessert was good but I was pretty full by then. Stuffed was more like it because my friend decided we needed to order the fries with truffle oil. Again another yummy dish made with white and sweet potatoes. The whiskey cocktail was quite nice. The cocktail that had a little herb that tickled the tongue made for a popping good time. The restaurant was not very busy but it was early and freezing cold outside. Glad we had the coupon because it was not a cheap meal even with the discount. It might be a place to try again but there are so may others to try.

Oh wow. Their braised beef short rib is my new favorite dish in Denver. It is so tender, you don’t need a knife. Wasabi mashed potatoes are the perfect accompaniment. I think our server was a little grossed out because I pretty much licked my plate clean… with my fingers. Their«coffee and doughnuts» dessert is outstanding. It consists of espresso semi freddo with a freshly made spiced sugar doughnut. The perfect ending to any meal. There were a few missteps on our last visit. They ran out of the«soup of the day» by 6pm. I found that a little odd considering the place was empty… It also took over 15 minutes to bring out our dessert despite the fact we pre-ordered it with our dinner. Little things like that won’t prevent me from getting my hands on that short rib as often as possible. I know short rib is a wintery type dish, but I hope they don’t ever take it off the menu, because if they do– I might go into a deep impenetrable depression.

Came here again. Unfortunately the ahi poke wasn’t that good. It was flavored well but they shouldn’t put a ton of rice in the appetizer… scale back on the rice and increase the amount of ahi tuna in the dish. Love their ahi burger though. the spicy aioli was so flavorful but not overwhelmingly spicy!

How do you know when I’m really enjoying my meal? When I refer to my mouth as a face hole. Seriously, I don’t know what it is, but anytime I’m really loving my meal I talk about«putting it in my face hole.» I think I said that 13 times today while I was eating brunch at Japoix. Seriously. Pork belly breakfast tacos? Are you kidding me? Christ that was delicious. And my $ 7 bottomless mimosa was pretty tasty as well. My server was great. Very cheery and attentive without being overbearing and they gladly started a tab for my food since I was part of a large party. This let me get my meal and pay for it without having to deal with the hassle of splitting it off from the rest of the group. I love the décor in Japoix. It’s just as fusion-y as the cuisine. It’s sleek and modern while still somehow remaining intimate and warm. This place is definitely a Golden Triangle favorite!

I’m definitely a fan and would go back again. I would do 4 ½ stars if possible. I love the décor and the music was okay — not my taste but as someone said in an earlier review you get lost in the food and don’t notice the music so much. The service was good as our water glasses were never empty. It was a Sunday night and they seemed to be out of a few things — udon noodles and sea salted caramel ice cream. My husband and I ordered the 5 course pre-fixed menu and it was great. The serving size is great since you get 5 courses. We left satisfied — not hungry but we weren’t rolling out the door — kudos on the correct portion size. Starters: Duck wontons and Tempura Rock Shrimp. Both solid and had great flavor. The Wontons had a very tasty dipping sauce to go with them. The Rock Shrimp were served in an edible wonton bowl — nice presentation. Salad Course: Beet Salad and a House Salad. The roasted beets were wonderful. All of the flavors worked together. I think I liked the House salad just a little bit better — it was a cross between a nice caeser and mixed field greens — you can’t go wrong with either choice. Noodle Course: Duck Ramen and Lobster Udon(but since they were out of udon they subbed in Ramen on the Lobster dish. This is the course that was less successful. I didn’t like either of these dishes. My husband liked the Duck on more than the Lobster. The lobster was a little on the fishy side and the broth on both was lacking in taste. I think it might have benefited from soy, acid or perhaps just a little salt. I would try the other two upon returning. Entrée Course: Samurai Seabass and Szechuan Lamb Tenderloin. Loved them both. Seabass was cooked perfectly and even my husband, who isn’t a huge fan of fish, loved this one. Charred on one side and just the right amount of doneness all the way through. The chef has some talents when it comes to cooking the lamb — nice char sear on the outside and very rare on the inside. Perfectly cooked. I had requested that nothing truffle touch the plate — the description states that it comes with a watercress salad with truffle. I think that this was overlooked — as the onions, red peppers, and watercress had a hint of truffle — I’m not sure if they added a little bit when they were cooking but with only a hint it almost ruined the dish for me. This isn’t the only reason but another reason for the less than 5 start rating. Dessert course: English Toffee Cake with twinkie ice cream. Loved, loved, loved the English Toffee Cake. I would love to try it with the salted caramel ice cream as I think it was a little much putting twinkie ice cream on a cake — too much cake. But this did not detour me from eating half of the dessert — I think it would have only put this dessert over the edge from great to fabulous.

With my birthday quickly approaching and my friends begging me to throw some kind of party, I turned to Japoix to help create a fun atmosphere for my bit 2 – 5. The owner is seriously amazing. I have been in just a few times and he not only remembers my name, but sends over complimentary drinks to ensure my good time. With this event in particular, he reserved the swanky couch area [equipped with TV’s, a fireplace and the perfect amount of room to fit 20+ people!] for my group, gave the ladies free champagne, popped by to introduce himself and have a drink and picture sesh with us and even brought over a molten lava cake… which was to die for. wow! The staff is awesome, the venue is unique and chic, the prices are outstanding… which always makes for a great birthday celebration :) Thank you so much for making my birthday special and amazing… and don’t work… i’ll be back :)

I can’t believe I’ve worked 2 blocks from Japoix since it opened and only just now made it in. I took a group of 14 for dinner on Saturday night, and absolutely loved the place. It’s got a swanky look, but none of the attitude that so often accompanies trendy restaurants. Everyone from the hostess to the server to the manager were top notch. There is a fantastic variety on the menu. In the appetizer selection alone, you can choose between everything from street tacos to frog legs! They’ve also got a really cool selection of cocktails. For my entrée, I had the duck ramen, which was outstanding. It is served with pieces of pork belly in the dish, which were better than appetizer versions of pork belly I’ve paid twice as much for on Larimer. I’d have a tough time not ordering it again, but there is so much on the menu that I wanted to try, I will attempt to force myself to pass it up next time(and there will definitely be a next time). Japoix was quite busy while we were in, and I really hope it stays that way. Like I said, I can’t wait to go back.

A hidden gem amongst hidden gems, Japoix gets my utmost approval. Why? Not only does everything on their menu kick epic ass, but the eclectic crowd, décor, music — just everything… makes me happy. But seriously, if you’re in the mood for lamb, you gotta try theirs. You can either have them prep it for you(A+) or satisfy your level of rareness by cooking it yourself on a hot stone and make the rest of the table drool around you as you do so. We also got the chicken, fish of the day, and Korean style tacos, all of which really hit the spot in terms of quality and presentation. Given we were with birthday girl and got plenty of freebies, the price was still a little on the high side, but I guess you’re paying more for the experience as the food, while good, is a bit hard to justify $ 9 for a set of 3 tacos. That said, this place has certainly left a positive mark with all of us who had the opportunity to enjoy their excellent service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a change from the typical Highlands/Lodo experience for something a little more fun, yet still trendy.

Ok Japoix… you win. These reviews, the hype… I was fully anticipating being disappointed. But you lived up to my expectations and have left me wanting more. The Lychee Sunset was delicious. If you don’t like gin, have no fear: you won’t taste it. And there are lovely little beads at the bottom of the glass that are a delicious and fun way to finish up. Pork belly buns were delicious, if not a bit messy. The sushi was good… small? Only because the rice wasn’t thick. I feel it showcased the fish more and took no issue with the size. Rice to filling ratio was great. A newer menu item that we were encouraged to try(not yet on the menu, but we were told it will be soon): Wasabi Ginger Edemame. holy cow… so delicious and savory. «Addicting» sums it up quite well. The hot rock steak was delicious. It’s like fondue only on a lava rock instead of a pot of oil. And you get a couple dipping sauces, red pepper, asparagus, and a carrot/diakon mix to help you concoct that perfect bite. I was hesitant to try the Electric French Kiss because of some of the comments on here, but chewing the flower was a fun experience. Think mini pop rocks all over your tongue and a little on your lips. The effect was neat, made water taste kinda cool, and made the drink itself taste better. Don’t think I’d try it with the sushi though… and I think it was smart of us to wait until the end of the meal to get these. I’m thinking I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the food as much if I’d had it right off… I want to try literally everything on this menu. Food was delicious, well portioned, and service was delightful. Can’t wait to return!

I waivered between 3 and 4 stars for Japoix– I was totally underwhelmed by the spicy tuna roll, but the atmosphere and a unique cocktail could bump it to a 4 star restaurant. There’s something called an Electric Button(I think?) cocktail– it’s the most expensive cocktail on their specialty list, but this is definitely worth trying at least once! I didn’t care for the food, but would go back for a drink with a friend who hadn’t yet experienced this. Basically, when it arrives, it looks like a lemonade with a floating not-yet-bloomed dandelion. You chew up and swallow the weird dandelion and what results is something felt like poprocks(by intensified, I thought I was going to start foaming at the mouth) and licking a battery(metally with a zing). I realize something described as being like eating poprocks and licking a battery doesn’t sound all that pleasant, but makes for some serious smiles. My friend and I couldn’t stop giggling like children. A memorable experience! OK: spicy tuna sushi= underwhelming. Some rolls fell apart and they just aren’t aesthetically pleasing. Just don’t do it. This place has a large dining room and a bar behind. I didn’t even know the bar was back there unitl I had to creep around looking for the bathroom(which, btw, are super clean and modern). When I was there, the bar’s atmosphere was super chill. I like.

atmosphere [4 stars] Nice modern setting. I always love it when places use white Christmas lights as a decoration accent. service [4 stars] The waitress that day was ok… She wasn’t very attentive even though we were the only ones there in the entire restaurant. Plus, she seemed annoyed when my friend asked how many ounces of meat was in the sliders. Just say, «Sorry, no I don’t,» next time. Lawrence, the owner, was very welcoming, and even gave us a free dish! But I felt as though we got this special attention because he knew we were Unilocalers… which we obviously appreciated, but what about all the non-yelpers out there? price [3 stars] Sadly, we weren’t there for happy hour(4−7pm, 9pm-close), but you should if you can cause it’s super cheap! food [4.5 stars] Great. I am so fond of Asian fusion foods, and this place is fairly creative with their dishes. 1) electric eel roll– sushi that you can probably find elsewhere, but what makes it unique is the«electric blossom,» which is a small flower that you chew, leaving your mouth feeling tingly and creating a whole different eating experience. (I’m a dork, and I did some research on the flower and the above article tells you a lot more). Japoix also has alcoholic drinks with the blossom as well! 2) kobe beef sliders and teriyaki chicken sliders– both delicious! The meat is cooked very well, all of them were tender and juicy. Plus, what I love is that they use«mento» buns, the same white Chinese bread that comes with Peking Duck – so soft and a bit sweet. I also enjoyed the sauces on the sliders and asked for more of the kobe beef slider sauce(I just love good sauce). 3) I took .5 stars off from my food score, because the dessert menu was not very creative. The free dessert we got with the Unilocal Check-In deal was the exact same ice cream mochi I have purchased at a Chinese grocery store many times before. I mean, it was free, but I definitely would not have ordered any dessert if it wasn’t for the Check-In deal. Just a note.

I’m a big fan of the juxtaposition of Japoix’s space. Up front it’s very swanky feeling, but not in an overbearing way. And then in the back it has a little more of a lounge feel with couches and chairs mixed in with high top tables and bar seating. Every time I’ve been in to Japoix the staff has been nothing less than gracious and the food is always good. But, really the owner here is outstanding. Lawrence has personally taken the time to talk to me and what seems like almost every other table there each and every time I’ve stopped in, be it for drinks, dinner, or both. And now I find out that Thursday is ladies night with free champagne in the lounge after 7?! Well, I guess it’s no secret what I’ll be doing on many of my Thursday nights from here on out…
