Visiting a niece at Regis College and we went here for dinner. It’s a small place and we tried getting in on a Friday night. Wait was over an hour and a half so we went elsewhere. We went back to Hops and Pie on Saturday afternoon though and got right in. I ordered the brisket pizza and wow, it was so good. The crust has a very different — and much better — taste than other pizza places. They use beer in the dough and it’s the perfect amount of crispy. The meat is tender and the pizza sauce has a tang to it that is also very good. Wish they had another location in the San Francisco Bay Area because I’d definitely go back, many times. If we ever get to Denver again, we’ll be stopping by.

Mac & Cheese was incredible. We should have just each ordered that. The carnitas tacos were also delicious because of their house pulled pork, and we also had a B.L.E.A.T sandwich(extra toppings on a BLT) and it was fantastic, but not as good as the Mac so I wish I had just had more. We went on $ 2 craft beer can Wednesday and their selection is extensive, at least 10 options. The service was also great, attentive despite and packed house and the food and drinks came out quickly. Wonderful spot!

Came with the parents before my flight Ambiance: Chill and laid back from the staff to the patrons. Not presumptuous or snobby. Music was a good volume and it was full even on a Tues evening. Food: I got a flight, the Nebraska Belgian Ale and blackberry brisket pizza with fontina cheese. Nuf said. The Nebraskan beer was something great and unique. Definetly taste those Chard barrels. Service: perfect balance between being there and leaving us to enjoy our time, not obnoxiously omnipresent like many American restaurants.

This restaurant was amazing! The Italian sandwich was delicious with fresh baked bread. The mac & cheese was delicious! Pizza was great with great toppings. The beer selection is phenomenal! Pliny the Elder on tap! Consecration on tap! Lots of hard to find beers. We wish we lived in town & would go here all the time.

Fun and unique pizzas and a huge rotating selection of beers on tap. I usually opt for a slice of the day or the carnitas tacos but everything is tasty and freshly made. The sandwiches are stuffed so full that it’s almost difficult to eat them. I always need several napkins and end up with sauce all over. But they’re delicious and with that much sandwich filling, you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. The place is usually always packed so it gets pretty loud but that’s to be expected in a place so deservedly popular.

Four stars for the bar and two stars for the pizza, so three stars total. It’s a nice, chill setting with a great craft beer selection, but the pizza was pretty bad. I’m from the greater NewYork area and accustomed to eating great pizza, so yeah, this didn’t cut it at. I’m not saying it wasn’t good because it wasn’t the same style of pizza I’m used to eating, as I appreciate the different styles from different regions throughout the country. The three of us looked at each other during our first slice and just kind of laughed at the fact this is supposed to be top-notch pizza in Denver. Oh well, like I said, the beer selection is great.

I wouldn’t say Denver is a «pizza town», but I enjoyed this place nonetheless. Almost everybody suggested Hops & Pie when we inquired about places to get food(& beer), so it was pretty high on our list. I think we could have made a better decision as far as toppings on our pizza, but it was still quite good. Not best pizza I’ve ever had, but I’m from Chicago, so most cities can’t live up to that standard when it comes to pizza. What stood out most was the IPA Mac & Cheese. I could have this and some beers and be perfectly content. They seem to get a pretty solid selection of local and non-local craft beers. Unfortunately after touring breweries all day, the focal point was food, so I didn’t take advantage of the beer list as much as I normally would’ve. Solid option for a beer & bite. Would definitely come back.

Great beer selection! We had the IPA Mac & cheese and the Cuban sandwich, they were very good! It was a little bit pricey but worth the $$$.

This is the best pizza I’ve found in the Denver area! I love the artisan pizza here, especially their pizza of the month. I’ve also sampled their sandwiches and they’re spot-on as well. The beer selection is excellent and I’ve never had a problem finding something to drink. The staff is very friendly and will work with you to help pick out a beer if you need, and they won’t let you pay for it if you don’t like it! It seems folks have discovered this place which is great for the business. I only wish it was easier to get in! These days you’re pretty much guaranteed a wait around dinner time.

Great food, and lots of choices for vegetarians/vegans. I don’t drink, so I can’t speak directly to the beer selection, but others in my party have always been satisfied. The only problem I have is how absolutely packed it always is — which is a good sign, right? Unfortunately, this means I don’t go very often, as the wait is regularly over an hour for a table for two.

Good pizza. Unusual and stimulating pizza toppers. Great beer selection, and as a bonus a great selection of ciders! Friendly staff. Friendly approachable fellow diners. What’s not to like? We had a great time.

Seems the few times I’ve come here I can’t help but feel left out of the«in» crowd because my stock Levis 511’s are not Levis 510 cut-offs. That might explain the snooty-tude I get from the dude taking my orders. Either that, or he’s just jealous of my superior beard. The pizza however, is excellent.

I’ve now been to Hops & Pie twice and I am definitely in love. I really love the vibe here, and on both visits I was lucky enough to sit in one of the window seats. They were intimate and cozy – perfect for a date night and people watching, but also big enough for when I went with friends. I would recommend trying to sit in these tables if you have the chance! As for the food? Yum! I love the sauces they bring with the pizza. Sriracha on pizza is heaven. I enjoyed the pizzas I had here very much, but the pear salad is seriously one of the best salads I’ve ever had! And the bread pudding is especially amazing – the bourbon icing on it is all I want to eat for the rest of my life. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because of the wait and the waiting area. I’m super picky about awkward/uncomfortable waiting ares and this one is terrible if it’s cold outside.

This place is rated high and pops up in some Denver guides. I however was not impressed. Their specialty seems to be the pizza and the beer. I will say that they do have an extensive list of beers and good types of beers at that. This portion is definitely a 4 star. I was left unimpressed with the pizza. The pizza is quite edible and the average diner will certainly enjoy it. I am a bit more picky because I am more partial to authentic Italian pizza. The atmosphere is really relaxed and chill. If you show up during peak hours you will certainly be waiting about an hour. I would try this place but it is not a must go for me.

Hops & Pie is lucky it has good pizza and beer going for it, because it leaves a lot to be desired on all other levels. We came in for dinner on Saturday night and were quoted a 45-minute wait time but we didn’t mind so we headed to the bar. Fifteen minutes later we were sat at the counter, facing the window into the entrance of the restaurant. If I had known we were going to get such a weird seat, I would’ve just kept my much better seats at the bar. Service was okay, but the hostess certainly wasn’t making any effort to be friendly and our server literally never checked on us after our food was delivered. I could really have used a napkin but never even got a chance to ask him for one. Good thing there wasn’t anything wrong with our food or we would’ve been waiting a long time to tell anyone. The good news is, our pizzas tasted great and they have a big list of beers on tap. I guess I’ll just know better next time and snag a seat in the bar, where the atmosphere is at least more fun!

There are two kinds of places that are shown on Triple D on the food network: places that live up to the hype and places that struggle to live up to the hype. This place doesn’t fall into either of those categories. Instead it’s an establishment that without a doubt exceeds the hype! Everyone who reads my reviews knows how much I love pizza. This was the best pizza I’ve tasted in Denver so far and I don’t think any place will surpass it. Where else can you get toppings like pastrami and beer-marinated brisket on a pizza? Exactly! They also serve a slice of the day which is the only slice they have available but nonetheless excellent. Besides you’re better off ordering the pie itself and customizing it however you want. Great ratio of cheese and sauce with a good soft crust and they don’t skim on the toppings. Oh, the beer, pizza’s partner in crime on a night of eating and drinking. Their beer selection is enormous with 20 – 21 different beers on tap ranging from various locations such as Indianapolis, Portland and of course Denver itself. They update their beer list every hour and keep it efficient when kegs get tapped. Plus each beer has a high alcohol content so you’ll definitely get your $$$‘s worth. The beer flight is the way to go if you’re not sure what you want. 5 samples of beer at $ 3 each, you’ll be smiling and profiling once you finish that! Bartenders and servers are busy and business-like but knowledgeable and seem to enjoy working there. Plus the patrons that visit the establishment are either visitors or residents who are friendly and pleasant to be around. Unlike some places back home in DC, everyone has a good time and treats others with respect and courtesy. Visit this place when you come to Denver. You will definitely be impressed, full-bellied, drunk, and happy when you leave!

Pizza and beer are the classic combination that never gets old. I don’t think any place has gotten this concept more right than Hope & Pie. Many pizza places do good pizza well. Most have terrible beer menus if they even have one at all. Most taprooms don’t have pizza, or if they do, it’s not very good nor Vegan-friendly. Hops & Pie combines killer pizza with an outstanding tap list featuring 20 or so rotating beers and a ton of cans and bottles. They had one of the best selections that I’ve ever seen. I was like a kid in a candy store. I doubt I’ve ever said this before but their pizza was even better than the beer. This was my favorite meal during our entire Denver trip. We went with house made Sicilian Sausage and Smoked Tofu as toppings along with Daiya to create the ultimate Vegan pie. I’m still having visions of this pizza. Patxi’s was my favorite Vegan pizza but this one may have just knocked off the champ. What put this place over the top was their Vegan Mac ‘n Cheese. It didn’t have any IPA as their non-Vegan Mac has, but it didn’t need it. It had a plethora of other flavors that made it one of the best Macs I’ve ever had. Even better than my own homemade recipe. The only thing that could make this place even more phenomenal would be the addition of Vegan Buffalo Wings. Add that and I might have to book a flight back to Denver ASAP!

Best pizza I’ve had in Denver thus far — hands down. Date of Visit: 7÷15÷15 Stopped at H&P and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was $ 2 Craft Can Wednesday. We were originally quoted a 45 minute wait, but only had to wait ~20, which gave us time to grab a drink at a nearby bar, since H&P will text you when your table is ready. Now, let’s get to the food. They offer an Artisan Pie of the Month, but the general premise is to pick your pie size and toppings, and let H&P do the rest, which they do very well. The crust is the perfect balance between pan and thin, and their house sauce really hits the spot. With 8 cheeses, 11 proteins, and too many veggies to count, the options are limitless. Quality ingredients, awesome crust, and a great beer list: A+.

I’m here because if Diners Drive ins and dives. The place has a real nice feel to it, it’s laid back bright and divvy also really clean. I liked the artwork and all the different stickers all over the joint. The staff are cool and friendly. Another bonus is the parking lot. I sampled the IPA Mac n cheese and it was very good. I got a pizza to go which was also very good the toppings were excellent. The terrific bartender, Crystal gave me the rundown on Guy’s choices and I modified his pizza. Smoked ham, chicken, brisket, smoked pork loin, and goat cheese on top of their normal tomato and mozzarella pie. That was a good one. Thank you Hops and pies for the fun visit and Funky Food Find.
