Homestead Heating and Air

During the winter when our furnace pilot light was going out I called Homestead Heating and Air, owner Kane came out and told me that our furnace was leaking CO2 and that it was dangerous to our health and needed to be replaced.
Based on that information, I quickly called a couple of other heating/​cooling companies to get additional estimates. I told each of the other companies when they came out about Kane’s appraisal of our furnace and they both said that it was NOT leaking CO2 and that by law if it was leaking CO2 Kane would have been required disconnect the unit and make it inoperable — which he didn’t do. Each of the other companies said the furnace was old and definitely could stand to be replaced but that it was in no way dangerous.

Our heater has been doing some weird things lately. Basically, it uh… stopped working. I think it was about 5 degrees below zero outside when I left a message with Homestead Heating and Air. Inside, the temperature was dropping at the rate of a degree per half hour.
Owner, Kane, called me back within 3 minutes and within about an hour our heater was fixed!!! Yay!!! I’d be surprised if he can always manage that kind of turnaround, but either way I’m now a loyal fan. He braved the snowy roads in the ungodly cold to help us out. Thanks Kane!
The price, quoted over the phone based on my description, was totally reasonable and there were no sneak-​up-​on-​you fees. He also showed me how to prevent the problem in the future.
