A run down rec center. Very few free weights and no stand alone squat rack. Basketball court is fine, but there are no basketballs laying around. It’s nice that there is a track. I appreciate the tvs in the rec room and the atmosphere in the weight room is positive. Convenient location.

I’ve been using the weight room here for a couple years. The good — it’s convenient and provides a sense of community. The bad — 1) it’s getting increasingly expensive(in fact 24hr memberships are now cheaper and have so much more to offer!), 2) being a city facility it has many many closures throughout the year, 3) the place always feels dirty and unkept(the locker rooms are especially disgusting — dirty, smelly, broken lockers, metal mirrors, etc.), and 4) it’s not the safest place to leave your belongings while you work out — fellow gym users have told me of wallets, ipods, keys, cars, money, etc being stolen from lockers and gym bags. I used to go to the Wash Park Center and found it a much better experience, but as I started — this is closer and part of my neighborhood. I hope someone takes the effort to get this place in top shape!

This rec center has way more to offer than I take advantage of. For the time being, I just use the pool for some lap swimming in the mornings. Once the Cold and Snowy hits Denver, though, I might start using that bodacious indoor track I keep hearing about. In all, a terrific gym. And the largest one I’ve been to in Denver. It’s right across the street from the library, which makes this corner, I guess, the cultural/social hub of this neighborhood. Good stuff. I’m a fan.

Welcome to the home of the King Of Parkhill! Aka number 7 on your Denver Nuggets. Some years ago it got a massive makeover and name change(Skyland) now it is a very nice 40,000 ft facility. It has a indoor 100m round track upstairs, which is also home to the Colorado Flyers arguably Colorado’s top youth USATF track team. And that is why this center is now our home rec. My middle daughter is a nationally ranked track athlete, if looking to step up your game and compete with the best this is the Rec and this is the team to be on! Be forewarned though the kids deemed talented enough to be on this team put in work that makes this ex college football player say DAMN! There is a nice gym as well for Basketball, and in the Summer you can come and watch #7 on the Nuggets participate in the Joint Effort tournament featuring other Denver area greats going head to head! They run a good basketball program with Big John now coaching some teams and running the drills with others. Its been awhile since I have played ball here but ask what nights they do have open gym and bring you’re A game because there will more then likely be some ballers in the house! The weight room isn’t huge but its very nice and has the obligatory TVs to watch news, sports or whatever if cardio is your thing! They also have craft rooms and also offer a water colors class that I just might enroll in to see if my inner artist can be unleashed. If I do however start wearing berets, t-shirts and pants to small for me & smoking please shake me until I wake up!
