After reading the Unilocal reviews I did not know what to expect after we made our 5280 reservations. I must say the four of us were pleasantly surprised! Between the four of us our favorites were the cauliflower bisque, short ribs, gnocchi, and the bread pudding!

Shocked! I am shocked by the other reviews here. On my recent trip to Denver, this was my hands-down favorite place. Heck, it is one of my favorite top 10 places ever! Beautiful old building, friendly service, excellent food/beverage. I don’t know what to say… Value what you have, Denver. Hold it dear!

Right next to the Marriott. We got in a bit early for lunch, and had made reservations, which I think was good with conventions in town. It was empty when we arrived and packed when we left. I had a hard cider and the ghost burger, which was awesome. Plate of shoestring fries, patty of GOOD ground meat, covered in pork chile verde sauce and topped with pico de gallo. Yum!

With so many other options, it will be very difficult to go back to this restaurant. I noticed people having sandwiches with wonderful skinny-crispy fries when I walked through to my seat. At the waitress’ suggestion, I tried the fish & chips. The chips were not chips by any stretch of the imagination and were a big disappointment. They were wedges of about ¼ of a small potato. And there was a hair on one. :( The cod fillets looked like they were out of bag of pre-made and frozen fillets. And there was something not tasty and mildy salty sprinkled on top of the fillets. Overall: the service was very friendly, the cod fillet flesh was tasty, the iced tea was good — the chunk o’ potato, and fillet batter were not

I’m so surprised by these reviews! We went during 5280 week honestly not expecting too much and were so happy when we left. It was the best out of the 3 places we checked out. It was busy but we were able to sit right down for our reservation. The cocktail list is pretty expansive and the beer cocktails are great. They have 471 on tap which is so rare. Turns out GP&T is owned by Breckenridge Brewery, so mystery solved. We each had a soup and actually ended up pouring some of the beer and cheese into the cauliflower soup and it was fabulous! I had the gnocchi and the flavors were fabulous together. My friend had the pork belly and he loved it as well. Cleaned his plate in fact! The service was good, not great but I know it was busy. We heard from the host(maybe a manager) that they are doing 5280 menus for Sundays for the remainder of the year, so we are definitely going back and bringing people!

Great happy hour. Met with the roommate for a quick drink(2⁄12) to kill time after work. Bartender was awesome and accommodating as I had just missed HH food. Drink specials are a deal and great offerings.

Maybe going there for the first time during 5280/Restaurant Week is not a good idea… But on the other hand, it’s the best time to go to see a restaurant’s true colours. Regardless, I was extremely disappointed. The menu was a bit all over the place from a «Ground Chuck Burger» to «Crispy Kurobuta Pork Belly» and«West Coast Cioppino.» The Cheese plate offered, An assorted artisan cheese board with candied walnuts, bread & crackers(cheese was local, domestic, or imported). So the imported cheese was«Gouda» — wow hold me back! The other two were goat cheese and blue cheese — I would expect cheeses out of the norm that I can’t buy at King Soopers. I ordered the Railyard Beer & Cheddar Soup, smoked with bell pepper harissa, which had so much salt it was unedible. I switched it up to the cauliflower soup with truffle oil — much better. I then had the Fresh Gnocchi with house cured bacon, brussel sprouts, blue cheese, and apple gastrique — can’t say the flavors mixed really well. My husband had the Pork Belly with roasted sun choke, creamy risotto, wilted greens, and sweet sherry reduction — very good except for the sherry reduction. Overall, highly disappointed by the food — service was decent, although our waitress was clueless about the dishes when we asked her about specifics and the manager had no idea whether the bar had mezcal or not. Speaking of which — my tequila mule was so bad I couldn’t drink it.

I was in town for a conference at the Marriott right across the street and we needed a place for dinner. We hit the jackpot with this place. The summer salad with duck was great and the four cheese pasta were both hits. The service is great and the beer list is stellar. The B3K blast sounded strange but we’re an adventurous group and decided to try it. It started as ordering just one to try and ended up as a round for our table of 6. If you’re not sure about what beer to order ask about it and they’ll give you a sample to try. We enjoyed the food & service so much we ended up back here 3 times during the week.

I’ve eaten at Ghost a half dozen times now mainly because it is right across the street from where I work and my boss(who often takes us out to lunch) loves to eat here. The food is usually pretty good. I have tried many of the specials(Chicken & Waffles, yum!) and several of the regular menu items such as the Gnocchi, the Roast Lamb Flatbread, and the Ghost Burger on a bed of fries. The quality and freshness of the food is pretty average(for a restaurant of this type) but they make themselves stand out in my mind with some of the unique things they offer. The Gnocchi is great as is the Chicken and Waffles when they have it on special. I found the Lamb to be a little dry and bland but overall I have always enjoyed my lunches here. If you are in the area stop by and give them a try.

Let me start off by saying I LOVED the Rocky Mountain Diner. For those that don’t know, the Rocky Mountain Diner was the previous tenant of this location. Now, I must say that the ambiance of the outside and the name Ghost conjurers up many thoughts of mysterious nook and crannies, secret passages and eerily moving objects. I walked in and… Eeh, it was still the Rocky Mountain Diner inside with a new coat of paint on one wall. What do I mean by that, well, if you’re going to have«special» water at the table, ala carte menu and a presumptuous aura about the place, you might want to use linens, cover the forest wood chairs and do away with the booths with etched glass. Yea, Yea, I know. I’m being THAT picky girl. I order the whole rotisserie chicken with carrots and broiled potatoes. Wasn’t sure what broiled potatoes where but I was willing to give it a try. Well, turns out that broiled potatoes are steak size french fries. The size of carrots was not really a side but more of a garnish at the quantity of three dime sized carrots with 3 inch stalk stems. I get presentation is everything but seriously? French Fries? Side of carrots? I will say that the chicken was tasty so I decided to take the remaining half home. I had the hovering waiter package up the leftovers and as I was trying to recover from the $ 35.00 bill for rotisserie chicken, french fries, carrot garnish and one, yes one, beer. As one can tell, I was not that impressed with the experience. One would think that the story of my dinner at Ghost Plate and Tap would there… BUT, you would be wrong. The next day I decided to have the remainder of my rotisserie chicken when to my surprise, the half chicken that I had on my plate when the waiter took it in the back to put it in a to-go box… had…turned…into a fourth of chicken. I only had the thigh and leg left. I looked at the box in amazement not sure if I was not remembering correctly to did I get someone else’s leftovers to was the waiter that hungry!!! Tip, check the leftovers before you leave and make sure they are yours and/or all of yours.

Was traveling alone while in Denver and this place was near my hotel. Popped in for lunch on my day of arrival and had the most amazing salmon club sandwich and a bottle of bourbon barrel aged stout. Last night in town stopped in for dinner and had an amazing fish dish. They also have local wine on the menu with a host of local beers. Sat at the bar both time and the bar staff was attentive and engaging. Being a history buff, I appreciated that the façade of the building was actually saved from another building that was slated for destruction and installed in the current location.

Solid. I was here for lunch and everybody at my table loved it. First off, the beer selection is remarkable. I’ve seen better overall selections, but I don’t think I’ve been to a place that has as good of a selection of local beers. You’re not going to find Samuel Adams on tap(I don’t think), but you’ll find good beers from many local breweries and many beers from several of those breweries. It’s a nice tap house for local brew. Secondly, the food was really good. I got a pretty boring salad, that was very tasty. I recognize that salads, don’t generally bring in large crowds, but this was a very good salad. My companions all had a lamb sandwich on a homemade flatbread and they raved about it. It looked delicious and they all hoovered it like it was the best lamb they’ve ever had. As we were leaving, I saw a table where the gentlemen there each ordered what looked like a chili pie with fries. I didn’t see it on the menu, but I will look for it next time. It looked awesome. They have soups, salads, cured meats, and really good entrees. The atmosphere is lively and the space is clean. I will go back at least for beer… probably for some chili/fries concoction too.

We were staying at the Marriott one block up and decided to check out this place for dinner before a concert. I thought the beer selection was rather good and I like tapas in general. I ordered the beet salad which I thought was rather delicious and also the chicken. The chicken was dry but flavorful, carrots yummy and potatos had a hint of truffle to them. Service was absolutely impeccable and attentive. We’ll check it out again and sit at the bar next time. Overall, chill spot and cool vibe!

This place was a huge hit with my wife and I. We came in a bit late on a Friday evening a few weeks ago. We were seated and waited on by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff! We ordered an appetizer which was simple yet very tasty. For a main dish I ordered the quail that was served over a salad mixture. It was amazing! I haven’t had good quail in a long time and this one was a winner. My wife got pork over a corn risotto. It had a jalapeño jam that really tied all of the flavors together. I am not a huge fan of pork myself, but it was really good too. My wife said it was one of the best she had. We finished it off with a dessert that was also good. We rarely order dessert, so I wouldn’t know how it compared to any others. App, drinks, dinner, dessert… under $ 100! I can honestly say that is a great deal for the meals we enjoyed that night. We will be back soon to try something else on the menu.

Ghost Plate &Tap transformed my good business trip in Denver to an amazing, comfortable, delightful culinary experience that I will remember for a long time. I didnt find the place on Unilocal but rather just strolled in based on the menu in the window and the general appearance of the place. Best move of the day! The appetizers and happy hour specials are a great deal and a foodie’s dream. I had the hummus, then the duck confit flatbread, and finally the chicken liver pâté. I wanted to try their small dishes and was blown away on all three. The portions are generous and an app could easily satisfy 2 – 4 people depending on appetite. They were spot-on in terms of taste, appearance, and creativity. The mood is light and the feel is a bistro/upscale dining one without the attitude. Very, very comfortable. I have to mention that they have delirium tremens on tap, a great find for beer lovers! In general this stop exceeds expectations and would be a good choice for business or pleasure. Give it a shot!

A co-worker and I stopped in for dinner and ended up getting two different sandwiches and splitting them. We ordered the roast beef dip and greek chicken wrap. I gotta say the greek chicken wrap was my favorite. The cucumber relish was so good and the red wine vinegar added just the right amount of zing.

Met a friend for lunch here the other day. We beat the lunch rush at 11:30 and snagged a table on their patio along Curtis. The servers were nice and on top of drink refills. They know that everyone is there for a rush lunch. I enjoyed the Summer Ghost Salad which included nuts, strawberries and much more topped with chicken. For $ 12 it was very good and filling. I’d return here again.

I don’t know what other people were complaining about, or maybe I was too hungover to notice, but I thought this place was just fine. I thought they had a great menu and is one of the few places where I actually feel the need to come back to try more because their menu was sounded so delicious. But alas, if Minnesota was only a hop and a skip away from Colorado. After much debate, I ended up getting the Toasted Tuna & Artichoke Sandwich and thought it was delicious. It was perfectly toasted and I thought that the blend of artichokes, capers(even though I don’t like capers), tuna, and olive tepanade was awesome, it came with equally delicious fries. All my other friends loved their food and Ghost Plate was very accommodating to my three vegan friends. I thought service was fine, except that when our food was brought out, one of the entrees was forgotten about, but they brought out it a couple minutes or so after. One thing I did not like was their bloody mary. It had a very distinct taste that I couldn’t pinpoint that my taste buds did not agree with.

Yes they have just opened their doors, and yes as with any new restaurant there are some issues, but the Ghost people have seriously hit the ground running. Perhaps the other reviews were written during opening week, because I have been a regular patron for nearly the past three weeks. They have a serious beer selection, awesome specialty cocktails and an expansive menu. Oh the sweet summertime cocktails, for something different try the Jalapeño Margarita or oodles of Monkey Chardonnay on tap. Yes, yes, I did say«on tap» how awesome is that? I am an extremely picky eater and a vegetarian to boot and have had a hard time finding places in Denver to suite my sensitive palate, but Ghost Plate and Tap has yet to let me down. MMMM Black Bean Cakes, Sweet Potato Fries and not to mention, an item which should make it onto any good vegetarian’s bucket list… the Stout Street Chop Salad. No, it’s not exactly«cheap» but it certainly isn’t expensive, especially for this area and the quality of the food and the service. It’s an awesome building with an expansive history, and should be a must for Denver tourists. The only con is parking, which is street only and can be very limited. However for you locals in the know, the light rail is mere blocks away. Do yourselves a favor and stop in for some happy hour and find your new favorite lodo spot.

Ghost Plate & Tap took Rocky Mountain Diner’s old space off 18th and Stout. Prime real estate! The southbound light rail station is nearby and it is in the historic Ghost building(hence the name). My mom and I decided to try it out today for lunch. Bottom line: I really miss Rocky Mountain Diner! Pros: — Incredibly fast service(the food came out so quick they had to have stuff pre-made back there — like 3 minutes from order to table) — Decent diner menu(a little small) with everything from wraps, to pasta to burgers — Nice space & location Cons: — Food was warmish — not hot. It clearly had been made before and sat out. — Server let my iced tea go dry and it had almost no ice — Server picked up my mother’s plate to clear it as she was eating a piece of food!!! I nearly freaked at this(my mom would never say a thing). Incredibly rude. Seriously?! Ugh!!! — They have an attitude that they get you in and they get you out. No lingering(at least at lunch). As I write this I almost want to say it is a 2 star review, but the food was OK. Actually my mom’s veggie wrap looked amazing and my chicken sandwich thing was good enough(although my mom commented, that was a very beige sandwich — which cracked me up mostly because it was true!). It was a little plain too. We agreed we would likely go back and try it again, but they will have to step it up to make this a regular lunch spot.
