I was hoping for great mexican food, but definitely didn’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad — but it wasn’t great either(however, the salsa was just right — spicy but not overwhelming). This place is definitely out of the way — and their lighted sign only says«MEXICANFOOD», so once we got there we weren’t even sure it was the right place(I missed that other review, apparently). We must have been the only people in there, and we still didn’t get very good service!(They were very involved in the soap opera on TV.) They do appear to have some good bar deals — they have $ 2 drink specials on week nights; each night is different. I might go again, but there are an awful lot of other options out there too…

4 stars– great food. I had the carnitas tacos and they were delicious. I really wanted to try one of the parilladas, but the husband picked this as a first ever to claim«I’m just nit hungry enough for that». He got the enchiladas suizas, which were meh– but to me that is so of the point of enchiladas suizas. I believe the non-literal translation for the dish– is bland, and white. The literal translation being«Swiss enchilada» which is fairly incongruous. So, I’m not going to judge this restaurant by a dish that I consider to be the«Kenny G of Mexican food» This is definitely not a place that you would just wander/stumble into, given it’s off the beaten path location. If you are in the hood(ie Monaco between Leetsdale and Hampden, you really should check it out. Summary: 4 stars for the food. Ambiance, not so much(maybe a little too autentico for me to have a fly strip hanging over my head…) Buen provecho!

An ex took me once cause I wanted good Mexican food and i must admit I was not disappointed. So much to choose from and they have really good combo plates. It is a little hard to see since it is hidden by other establishments but if you know where Sears is on Monaco and Evans than your not too far from good eats. Very good service as i can remember our waiter always checking on us! big PLUS

This is by far my favorite, and most underrated Mexican restaurant! A friend who studied abroad in Mexico commented on the authenticity of the food, and we frequently bring new people along with us. The restaurant is hard to see from the road(it’s in the back with a large Mexican Food sign, but only the«food» seems to light up), and service is a little bored/uninterested looking. But none of this detracts from the amazing food, and I’ve never had a problem with being ignored or orders being incorrect. They recently changed their menu to accommodate more English speakers, and there is plenty of room for large groups. Food is reasonably priced, and portions are large! I recommend the Filete Cielo Azul, or Rollo Bronco. Anything with cheese, bacon, or shrimp seems to be amazing, and go for the specials to get the authentic and unique dishes! It’s worth every penny and more!

I’m surprised no-one has reviewed El Toro Bronco yet. Our group from work enjoyed a late dinner here last night. Honestly, it was pretty amazing! Someone had recommended El Toro Bronco to our supervisor, and she had a discount coupon for it, so we all got to try it. I ordered a plate with 4 soft-corn-shell chicken tacos, and it came with a quarter of a fresh-cut perfectly ripened avocado, a little bunch of cilantro, some lime slices, and a baked potato(yes, with the foil and everything.) Others at the table ordered pretty normal Mexican-American stuff like enchiladas and combo plates with burritos and tostadas and such. There’s a lot more than that offered at this place, though. The family at the next table was having a real fiesta! What they ordered was the Parrilladas. This meal that can feed up to 4 people comes in a big grill-like metal conveyance with handles and here is how it is described in the menu: «Our parrilladas are Mexican style, served with grilled onion, grilled jalapeño pepper, melted cheese, Charro beans, and baked potato. » There is a choice of meat, which includes: «Tender grilled strips of steak with grilled chicken, al pastor, carnitas, or shrimp.» There are 4 different options and 3 different sizes. I must tell you, the Parrilladas looked and smelled amazing. Many of us wished we had ordered Parrilladas to share rather than the routine familiar Mexican food we were already busy eating. As for drinks, people at our table ordered a few strawberry margaritas, a vodka & tonic, and one person ordered a Mojito. Out of all of these, the mojito looked the most refreshing – clear and sparkly with a generous garnish of mint leaves. Exciting old me… got Mr. Pibb. I’m a social thrill, I’ll tell you… Some very interesting soups are offered on the menu, all sorts of house specials, seafood cocktails, totally American food such as burgers, and salads and desserts. A very wide-ranging menu is offered. We were all quite satisfied with our food, and I heard many stating they would like to come back again. I know I would like to return sometime when I’m in Denver again to try the Parrilladas!
