Friendly hipster baristas, low key coffee shop. I work in the building so I visit there often. Good coffee, variety of drinks with quiche and burritos. Great for study groups, large tables, and not overcrowded.

It’s fine. A convenient, decent little coffee joint. Nothing really stands out — it’s just like dozens of other coffee shops and I wasn’t overly impressed with their brew. Friendly hipster baristas made me not care enough to really form much of an opinion(good or bad) about this place.

Hipster coffee place that I stumbled upon walking the downtown area. Strong organic coffee, flavored options like mocha, almond milk and a few gluten-free baked goods. No lines, unlike Starbucks, and a relaxed atmosphere. Very cool playlist. A huge GF brownie and a medium coffee set me back about $ 8. Not cheap but also not outrageous.

I spend a lot of time in coffee shops(work meetings) but I don’t drink coffee. So I get overly excited about a good cup of chai. I LOVE the chai latte at Common Ground, and did he just drizzle honey on top? Yeah, he did and it was delicious. I’ll also attest to the hot cider in the winter. Nice change of pace. Plenty of room to sit, free WiFi.

I work right around the corner from Common Grounds, and I have gone a number of different times with co-workers to grab an afternoon pick-me-up. The coffee is good(definitely better than Starbucks) and prices are completely reasonable. Usually, I make it a point to not go into chains, and between my two favorites in the neighborhood(Pig Train &CG), Common Grounds is about $ 1 cheaper every time. When Fall rolls around, I usually switch my iced coffee for a Chai Latte and Common Grounds makes one of my favorites. Not too spicy and not too sweet. As far as the staff goes, yes they are young, and not always incredibly peppy, but who cares. I have a feeling that they probably get treated less than favorably by people who still need their coffee to act human, so thusly they aren’t always chatty. If you actually try to be nice to them, they are nice to you. One of the male baristas is always really funny, makes a mean cuppa, and the females in my office collectively have a crush on him. And to the person complaining about a braless barista… seriously?! Who GAF? She is there to make you coffee not for a fashion show. Get over it.

Friendly laid back service and some tasty drinks downtown. I had the iced coffee with chocolate milk, hazelnut and whipped cream. It has a name but I forgot it, unique drink and worth a try though. Sunny day so we had our drinks on the porch out front. Worth a try for your Java needs.

I had to spend a few hours in downtown Denver waiting for a friend to get out of class at the nearby university campus(since I’m from out of town and have nowhere else to stay). This place was lovely and low key and let me hangout for a long while only buying a few things. When I discovered they sold wine I was really pleasantly surprised to discover the two wines they had on offer were really really lovely — cheap, to be sure, but well chosen and interesting and varietally correct and just nice. We also chose this place because it said it was open until 9pm. Imagine my surprise when at 7pm the barista came out to let me know they were locking the doors. He kindly said I could hang out inside for a bit while they cleaned up, but that’s not particularly kosher in my books so I chugged my wine and moved on. So basically this was a perfectly adequate coffee bar but you guys really need to update your online info to reflect your actual opening hours…

If you’re in the LoDo area, check it out. They do serve good beer also and have a happy hour, which is a definite plus in my book, for those of us who need somewhere to unload with a laptop and throw back a couple after work(or to escape an unexpected visit from in-laws). That being said, if you have more of a choice as to where to go, I’d suggest Rooster & Moon instead. The parking is easier to deal with and it’s frankly a better enviornment. However it is in a different area of town, and geography may make a difference to you. If you’re already in LoDo though, check it out for sure. Kinda a hippie type vibe in the place. Chances are there’ll be some jam band type music playing. The staff might be a little stoned, but they’re not rude. A previous reviewer got huffy about a barista not wearing a bra. I say… what’s the problem here? If this happened to me, I’d consider myself lucky. It would inspire me to be a return customer in the hopes I’d be blessed to see that again.

I worked across the street from Common Grounds for about a year. I’ve recently been transferred and I’m so upset about it! But anyway, the most friendly staff, the best coffee, and such a unique environment. Try the iced dirty chai(i like it with 4 shots but I also have a serious problem haha) and you will not regret it!!! Much love, guys!!!

I come here a lot to study with a group of classmates. Some of the other reviewers are correct that the staff isn’t necessarily enthusiastic, to say the least. However, considering they have to see my friends and I hole up in there multiple times a week, they do a pretty good job. The coffee is definitely good, I like that they have a few different types of iced tea each day, and their sandwiches are also good. I do wish that the atmosphere was a bit more cozy, but then I suppose it wouldn’t be quite so convenient for studying!

Ok coffee/tea shop. They either need to give up offering sandwiches or start to take it seriously. They offer a hummus and veggie sandwich… Veggies include: dill pickles, raw white onion chunks, sliced tomato, cucumber, and olives… Not good. I’ve been there twice to meet friends and catch up but the second time the music was so loud and comically bad(maybe they were playing it ironically, because it was that bad) that it was hard to hear one another across the table. I like to give local shops a shot but this one just didn’t hit the spot. On to the next.

I have given Common Grounds many chances and I AMDONE! The service is so incredibly rude and terrible. I liked Common Grounds for two reasons: proximity to my office and breakfast burritos. However, the little«hipster» girl working the register is always bitchy. First of all, pick up your head and look at me while I order instead of staring at your iPad, as if I am inconveniencing you. Secondly, put on a BRA. This girl was wearing a skimpy tank top in January – hello – it’s not summer, and it’s not like it is blazing hot inside the coffee shop. Moreover, your tank top left NOTHING to the imagination. Seeing your mosquito bites through your shirt is so unprofessional and just gross. Your appearance made me wonder if you even took time to shower today. I have a punch card and it is punched every time I’ve been there regardless of whether I ordered food or a drink. I present the punch card to the girl and she just says, «that’s for drinks only.» I said, «oh, it’s been punched for food too.» «Well, I guess people don’t know what they are doing.» Not an, «oh, I’m sorry that happened… just so you know, it’s for beverages only.» Nothing… just rude, rude, rude, like it’s my fault your staff doesn’t know what they are doing. After being offended by this chick not wearing a bra, looking dirty, and being rude, I took my burrito and left. I didn’t say thank you, and why should I? YOU should be thanking ME for MY business. It’s the customers that keep your business open. So, as I was walking away, little miss pretentious hipster yells, «You’re welcome.» I turn around and stare at her in shock that she actually has the audacity to treat people that way and actually, pretty cowardly since she couldn’t say it to my face and says it to my back, then and she condescendingly waves to me with a smile. Awww… how.sweet.no, I mean how disingenuous. So, Common Grounds, take your pretentious, better than thou, hipster attitude, bad customer service, crappy coffee and rethink your perception. Your reviews really aren’t that great on here. Going forward I’m happy to walk the 2 extra blocks to get to Starbucks to get better customer service, excellent coffee, consistency, and I’m happy to pay the higher prices because I can afford it.

I love the location and a good downtown place for a business meeting or to meet-up with friends. We received free coffee refills, so that was a nice bonus.

Service is friendly if a bit mellow. Very sweet people, they’re sticklers about making sure you’re getting the best cup of coffee they can pour. Interior is coffee-house-ish.eclectic furniture and collections of books on shelves. Power strips for laptops abound. Not a bad place!

Wanted to go to a new coffee shop so I chose here, not a bad choice. It was on the corner of the intersection and I missed the sign so I had to drive around a bit. There is a lot of paid street parking 2 hour limit, but most of it was taken when I eent. I had to park about a block away and walk back. The inside is really open, big, and clean. The bathrooms were clean as well. I got a medium regular latte which was pretty good and $ 0.50 cheaper than most other places, their prices are pretty good especially when taking into account their location. The customer service was good, nothing really to rave about. My WiFi had an issue connecting for a few minutes but thereafter worked fine for about 2 hours until I left. Overall I liked the place abd will probably go back.

I met some old friends on Mothers Day for coffee and a light breakfast and really liked the vibe. Some are critical of the coffee but my latte with an extra shot and skim milk was fine. I had a breakfast sandwich and yogurt and the bill was fair. What I liked most was the acoustics. When I go to a coffee shop, I’m there to work or socialize. We has a normal conversation with limited to no distraction. There was plenty of neighborhood parking and the staff was very friendly. I also love retailers who use Square for payment so I can get my receipt on email. Great local find and community café!

The coffee is good. The new location is not very cozy. I miss the old spot. With this location, they seem to be trying for a different feel than the laid back coffee shop it use to be. I miss those old comfy chairs and relaxing with a cup of coffee.

I’m always happy to support a local coffee shop. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed by our experience with Common Grounds. We were staying the night at The Hotel Oxford across the street and needed a «pick-me-up» to ensure that we’d be able to stay up to enjoy the Christmas party we there to attend. It’s a cute little shop with plenty of seating and a great location(downtown). The employees weren’t the friendliest, which was a little off-putting. The coffee was just… meh. I got a mocha with toffee syrup and an extra shot of espresso. Not enough mocha action — too much toffee action. AND one of my biggest coffee pet-peeves…it was barely warmed. I’d rather get my coffee too hot(I promise, I won’t sue) than get it cold. The boyfriend was less than impressed with his dirty chai as well. What a bummer. Probably won’t return when there are PLENTY of other local coffee shops nearby.

Ohh. this should really be a 2-star review, but I’m feeling generous. I rate coffee shops as follows: 1. Is it better than Starbucks? 2. Is it cheaper than Starbucks? When the answer to both of those is no, I don’t return — Common Grounds earned a double no. Very, very, very hipster-ish and borderline pretentious; there is a giant sign saying«We don’t speak Starbucks» above the menu. Given that I have a sense of humor and have worked in a coffee shop before(even worse, one that served only two sizes and not three), I can completely understand how annoying it *can be* when people ask for talls and grandes instead of small and medium. That said, you’re in the service business, and it’s the service of serving coffee, not telling your customers they’re lazy imbeciles who forgot to notice there wasn’t a green mermaid out front. Get over it! You know what size they’re ordering. ;)
