This deli should not be allowed to make burritos. Was that carne asada or was that a chunk of dark salt that looks like meat? This was the saltiest meat I have ever put in my mouth. The rice and sour cream couldn’t save this thing. It was big but it tasted so bad. Please stop serving that stuff to customers. That is a crime! Recommendation: DONOTORDERBURRITOSHEREATTHEDELI. THECARNEASADA may give your kidney stones!

The location is great as there is really no market easily accessible to Chaffee/Regis area. Lines can be horrible in a rush. I’ve had to abandon an unknown number of handfuls/baskets of items and leave for excessive wait times. Cold-cut cooler is questionable at best — often the items feel just below room temp. I realize these goods probably have loads of preservatives, but when I look at the thermometer for the unit and it is reading well above 45, I have an issue. This leads me to stay far away from the deli… just my self-preservation kicking in. Overall produce is good & affordable. Lettuce is disappointing — you have iceberg and the pre-packed stuff(which always smells bad to me), that’s it. Frozen stuff is $ 1.50−2.50 higher than everywhere else but I guess you’re paying for your convenience of going there. Overall prices are hit-or-miss … some odd things are lower(I get the feeling that they are because they were shelved when the price was truly lower and they’re old) and others are higher, so it can be a wash. Again, ultimately, it’s convenience, really. Staff is nice, pretty consistent and seem to care about helping. I still visit there when I need basic, shelf-stable stuff.

I was pretty bummed to learn that I had missed the Safeway blowout sale when it was here. But a co-worker came in raving about the breakfast burritos at the market that took Safeway’s place. So I knew I wasn’t going to blow another opportunity. During my lunch break today, I wanted something cheap and fast, but tasty and new. Once i remembered this spot, it was like my car went into auto-pilot. I just sort of found myself in the parking lot. It’s a huge Mexican-style market, with a great-looking bakery and meat department. But I was ready to eat NOW! Mosied on over to the deli where I was briefly entertained by some other newbies who dared to try something new and one ended up coughing and sputtering and looking slightly embarrassed. But the ladies behind the counter were nothing but nice and I knew that wouldn’t necessarily treat me like the gringa I sort of am. Got a chicken verde burrito and a medium jamaica drink, which came to only four bucks and change. The burrito wasn’t massive but damn was it good… and spicy. Not tears-in-your-eyes spicy but my lips and still feeling a little tingly and I LIKEIT! No complaints but they won’t get their fifth star until I go back and check out their produce. Oh, and the status of my bowels later in the evening will also help with the final judgment. Till then!!!
