For some reason I’ve driven by this place multiple times, but never went in. I finally made it over on a Wednesday night. It was superb, there was only a few of us in there, but tried a few different wines and got a bottle for about $ 30 which was very good. We ordered various tapas(Brie, Escargot, Smoked Salmon and mussels) which were fresh and full of flavor. The chef(Sophia) came over and spoke with us about food and gave us her take on the menu and I think the pricing was reasonable.

After passing this place by and wanting to go in for over two years, finally, we did! OMG. Great H, 5 – 7 T-Sat(?) $ 5 wines &4 small plates for $ 21. New chef trained in Montréal, Sophia, she is the bomb. Ask her about her homemade garlic infused oil. I hope you get Ruben to guide you around this NW Denver hidden gem. It is my NEW favorite happy hour w/wine loving ladies & also a fab romantic date night spot. Frosty windows, parisian bistro feel. The gnocchi was perfect… Pillowy, savory with shaved Parmesan flakes. Loved the current Ramsey Cab & Gruner Veltliner. We will be back. Often. Tuesday is ladies night = $ 5 glasses all night. Their sommelier could have my phone number. Dig it. Tip well. It’s a small space & they earn every dollar. I am already dreaming of my next trip to Cellar Wine Bar. Love at first glass.

If you’re looking for a spot to grab an affordable glass of tasty wine with friends during happy hour, then Cellar Wine Bar is worth checking out. What’s better than a $ 5 glass of delicious Malbec served alongside goat and Manchengo cheeses, dried dates(my fave), apricots, figs and Marcona almonds? Maybe a generous serving of steamed mussels and creamy hummus with fresh veggies and pita bread? They’ve got that too! The restaurant is small with exposed brick walls, a large bar area and just enough seating. There is a long, narrow table in the center which is perfect for a group of around ten or so(I would definitely make a reservation in advance if you have a group). The staff was very friendly, but my wine glass was left empty a few times, which is never a good thing for this wine lover. :)

I have been wanting to stop by this cute neighborhood staple for a while now, but for whatever reason it never came up during those frantic«Where should we go?» conversations. Finally tried out Cellar Wine bar on Friday evening with a girlfriend. I had heard that the wine happy hour is awesome, so that was the main pull. Walked in and there were only 2 seats left at the community bar in the middle, which was fine. The space is intimate and perfect for a date night or catching up. Probably not so much for a big group. We had a few rounds of $ 5 wine(happy hour until 7!) and shared some small plates: red pepper soup(meh), featured salad with pears(the most boring salad ever), duck confit bruschetta(YUM!!!), and the hummus mezze(would definitely order again). So, overall the food was hit or miss. But, definitely try the duck confit. Next time I will come for wine and dessert, but I’ll definitely be adding this charming little wine bar to my rotation in the highlands.

I’ve been trying to make it here for what seems like a loooooooong time. Originally attempting to go too early(they don’t open before 5pm) and having to settle for Vita. OK, so finally made it here when my mom was in town. I’m oretty sure she enjoyed it and my pregnant wife was happy that they have food since she’s not partaking in the drinks right now. By the way, the food was spectacular! Especially the roasted red pepper soup with queso fresco, chimayo chile croutons and chives. Second best choice was the herb gnocchi with sautéed red kuri squash, sage, speck and buerre noisette. Also fun was the seasonal mushrooms, fried capers, shaved radish and piment d’espelette. I love that they have wine flights. I had the Summer Whites flight as an ode to the end of summer. Delicious!

The Cellar’s 4 star rating is right-on. Nice open atmosphere. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Good wine and food selections at reasonable prices with a decent HH policy of glasses up to $ 10 reduced to $ 5 from 5 – 7 p.m. I’m a big gnocchi fan and their unusual version made with phyllo dough instead of potato flour was excellent. Some nice mussels with chorizo and fennel followed by a pot de crème that was beyond wonderful made what was going to be a simple glass of wine with a friend after work a truly good dinner.

Fantastic happy hour, even on the weekends! So, if I were to plan the perfect Saturday, we’d start with the free wine tasting at Amendment XXI next door, followed by happy hour here at Cellar Wine Bar. Several of their glasses of wine are only $ 5 during happy hour and they have some great antipasti. I’m an olive addict, so the bowl of marinated olives is great for me. Parking can be a challenge, so allow yourself some extra time for that.

My bf and I headed over here after a painting class across the street. The space is small but inviting. We walked in and the waiter immediately came up and seated us. He was super nice and attentive. We ordered a glass of wine each, a cheese plate and truffle plate. Enjoyed the overall atmosphere and can’t wait to check out their Social Hour.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good wine and beer selection Four of us went for some pre dinner drinks on a Saturday night. The place was packed but the bartenders did their best in accommodating us in one of the sides of the bar and as soon as more space opened we moved to more comfy seats. Most of us had local beers and we were stoked they had Herman Joseph’s. Because the place was packed, they struggled with having enough beer glasses or water glasses for everyone, but they were super friendly and tried their best to getting everyone sorted as soon as possible

Love that they call their happy hour the Social Hour. Such fancy pants CWB! Came here after Sipping n Painting session right across the street on a late Friday afternoon. Looked over to Boulder street and saw that Vita’s rooftop is packed and Lola is crazy busy. This is for sure a hidden gem for Friday afternoon Social Hour gathering. Decided to come here for the chill environment since I was trying to catch up with an old friend. Walked in and immediately we were greeted by everyone in the establishment. It was very warm and welcoming considering sometimes snootiness is associated with wines or wine places. Love that their Social Hours ends at 7PM on Fridays. Our waiter immediately sat us down and gave us some cucumber waters, nicely done CWB. Haven’t had cucumber water in awhile, it was rather refreshing! The place itself is small and intimate with really nice décor. For Social Hour special they had Bellinis and Sangrias for $ 5 a glass.(There was another drink but I forgot what kind, also for $ 5.) They also have an extensive selection of wines for around $ 5 as well. We also ordered a 6-item meat and cheese plate for $ 28 before tax and tip. They have amazing selections of about 6 — 7 different meats and same for the cheeses. The dishes came with mini pickles, olives, dried dates and grapes to compliment the meats and cheeses. Of course it also comes with thinly sliced French bread. We ran out of bread and they gladly refilled without charging us any extras. I did feel the prices is a little steep considering we didn’t get much cheese… Picture attached. Sitting in the establishment and looking out their big windows took me away from Denver for a second. I felt as if I was in Europe somewhere for the hour I was there. Great service with great prices at an amazing location. Definitely will be back again soon!

Met up with friends for Social Hour about a month and a half ago. I enjoyed the champagne cocktails. The Social Hour menu offers some $ 5 glasses of wine and champagne cocktails. I believe there was a beer option too, but I didn’t really pay attention to beer. We had great, attentive service. We also ordered food, which was good, but the food menu was confusing. Apparently, if you order from the front of the menu, you must order 3 items for the minimum price of 3 plates for $ 17. The back page has no such qualifiers; however. I found the food to be a bit spendy, but the burrata we ordered from the back page was splendid. I would definitely return here. Also, beware, the parking here is street parking, so it is definitely hard to find.

I enjoyed Social Hour with Wanda C, Shalan G and her hubby last Thursday. What a charming wine bar! I indulged in a white and a red sangria and split a flatbread with Wanda. Both Sangrias were tasty, although I liked the red one a bit more. The flat bread was a delicious little nibble. The wine list is extensive, and the wine cocktails are creative, and they have beer if wine isn’t your thing. The Social Hour prices are reasonable, ranging from $ 5-$ 8/glass. The gentleman serving us was friendly and attentive… even though I was a little jumpy when he first stopped by! So to sum it up: wonderful wine selections, tasty nibbles, friendly service and charming location. Yup, I’ll be back.

Met some lovely ladies here for HH last week, and I must say, I like it. We moved away from our favorite wine bar, Sketch, a few months ago and this place reminded me a lot of Sketch, but a touch classier(read: the chairs don’t wobble precariously back and forth). It was also shockingly not busy for happy hour, with the exception of the«let me give you a name tag» group(coworkers? alumni association?) that occupied the big table by the door. Select glasses of wine are $ 5 during HH and I had a very nice Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand as well as a Verdejo which came highly recommended by the server and rightfully so. They also have an extensive selection of snacks… not just salumi and cheese but flatbreads as well(ranging from about $ 6 — $ 15). I’m usually not a fan of most cheeses… I think I’m a cheese lover but when I eat more«interesting» cheese, I’m usually put off. We shared three cheeses and they were each delicious, the favorite being the one with white truffle shavings on top. Such a delicious smell. All of the snacks we ordered were perfect for sharing and not getting too full and spoiling dinner. One suggestion: disclose the bacon on the deviled eggs on the menu so the veggie lovers aren’t taken by surprise. Also worth noting is that the server started a tab for each of us so it was easy to close out early and take off. Downside? Weird lady taking down signatures for a petition at the door. I signed it because I like children and education and all of that, but seriously? Move it outside, lady.

«What a fabulous happy hour you have», said Little Red Riding Hood. «All the better to lure you in», replied the Cellar Wine Bar. «And what delicious foods you have», said Little Red Riding Hood. «All the better to make your tummy happy», replied the Cellar Wine Bar. «And what amazing wines and wine cocktails you have», said Little Red Riding Hood. «All the better to lower your inhibitions and make you have a good time», replied the Cellar Wine Bar. «Are you sure you are my grandma’s wine bar?» asked Little Red Riding hood. «Come closer and find out», replied the Cellar Wine Bar. Little Red Riding Hood crept closer, looked around and was amazed what she saw. The Cellar Wine Bar was not her grandma’s wine bar, but instead a small, intimate restaurant with amazing wines, awesome cocktails(Rossini) and food to please anyone. Little Red Riding Hood decided to stay.

First of all this Bar is located in a great neighborhood. Love the old stone houses next to the new contemporary homes. Great views and hidden gems. Went for HH and had a lovely champagne cocktail for 5.00. Sampled a few small plates and whatever was ordered was very good. The only down side is I live too far away. I would love to go back sometime.

The ONLY reason I cannot give Cellar Wine Bar a full rating is their lack of a prominent sign! I drove past this great place twice trying to find it– only seeing«FROMAGGIO» on the front window. More than a bit confusing. So– other than that oversight Cellar Wine Bar is a great spot. I met up with Laura L. and 6 other fellow Denver Unilocalers last night for some amazing tapas, wine, cocktails and conversation. As I got there first– I had a few minutes to look over the menus and chat with the staff. Upon suggestion I ordered a glass of their 2008 Castano Monastreli from Spain — which was offered at $ 5 for our group. Good balanced red wine! Laura L. and the rest showed up about 20 mins later– just intime for me to have had half the glass while listening to some Justice and people watching. For a smallish space– they have done very good things with it. Large windows and soft lighting give a very relaxed and open feeling. So we ordered just about everything on their Tapas menu(thanks again Laura!!) «Boutique» meats and cheeses were a hit with everyone in addition to nuts, olives and fruit. For«dessert» I had one of the Burgandy Ale Cocktails= simply Burgandy wine and Ginger ale over ice– perfect. Here is the link to my daily VLOG from our experience there: I hope to enjoy Cellar Wine Bar with more friends sometime very soon!

I love going to swanky wine bars, but sometimes I would rather down a $ 10 bottle of wine at home than a $ 10 glass of wine in a bar. Fortunately, my bargain-hunting friend, Kate G. invited me to Cellar Wine Bar for Ladies’ Night last Tuesday. The waiter was slow to get to us even though it wasn’t completely packed. He told us about the Ladies’ Night special, a $ 6 France flight. The first wine in the line up was a white Bordeaux that tasted suspiciously similar to Pinot Grigio. The second wine was a fruity Chardonnay that I really enjoyed, but my favorite was the Chablis. The smooth, light red was the perfect finish to the wine trio. The waiter didn’t notice that we had marked two desserts on our sushi-menu-like ordering sheet. By the time he came back to check on us, we were almost done with our wine and our better judgment had decided against dessert. He was apologetic, especially since he spent a lot of time earlier trying to convince us to order food. The atmosphere is chic and urban, almost minimalistic, making it a soothing escape from a relaxing work week. I would like to give the Cellar Wine Bar four stars, but that seems too generous given the sub-par service and the fact that we didn’t even eat there. I can’t wait to go back!

Dear Cellar Wine Bar, I wouldn’t have even known you existed had a not stumbled upon you last night while on my way to one of your neighbors. I was very impressed by the variety of wines on your menu and loved the flight options.(Especially the sake flight– I have never seen that done before.) Your staff was well educated about all of your wines and were super helpful without being overbearing. I also loved the sushi style ordering on your appetizer menu of meats, cheeses, and sweets. We tried the La Tur(yum!) and the Bleu de Lacqueuille(best blue cheese ever!) cheeses as well as the Prosciutto and Anchovies. Everything was a home run. I will definitely be back to visit again and hope more people have the good fortune of trying you out soon. Sincerely, A Wine Lover
