It’s a very pretty restaurant, the food was nothing special at all, borderline bad but the desserts were good, and lets get one thing straight… ITISNOTAUTHENTICARGENTINEANFOOD. What makes me an expert on Argentinean Food… both of my parents are from Argentina, I lived in NY for 18 years and had some of the best Argentinean Food I have ever had and I have travelled to Argentina 3 times and pretty much went out for every meal. Lets start the review… the shells of the empanadas were very good, but the meat stuffing was more Mexican in style than Argentinean… it looked like a combination of ground beef and pico-de-gallo. The«Chorizo Argentino» was not bad, but again it tasted more like a Mexican sausage then an Argentinean one. Oh yeah… the Chimichuri was also not authentic… I don’t think it had any parsley and it was too light on the vinegar, and what’s with the red chili flakes? My wife’s Bife de Chorizo was undercooked, very fatty and had absolutely no flavor… a little salt and pepper is all you need for a great steak. My Milanesa de Carne was pounded way too thin and the breadcrumbs were poorly seasoned. I have to say they did a very good job on the French fries, rice and simple salad. OK…dessert time, the Empanadilla filled with dulce de leche were awesome, the Panqueques de Dulce de Leche were a mixed bag, the center of the Panqueques were good, but the outer edges were beyond burnt due to the poorly executed flambé and way too much«raw» rum was left. So what’s the conclusion… if it wasn’t so far from my house I might go back for the Panqueques de Dulce de Leche sans the flambé treatment and the Empanadilla, but that’s it, the food was a total let down. If you want to taste what Argentinean food is supposed to taste like, head over to Buenos Aires Pizzeria near Coors Field, they have awesome food and gelato.

The empanadas are wonderful. Truly delicious, and priced to sell. Just get those and skip the rest. Our group of 7 tried a little bit of everything and it all came up flat. The food was largely cold and flavorless. The Calamari was tough and lacking any seasoning, the cauliflower was bland, the vacio steak was cold and the bread was plain. And let me tell you, I go crazy for anything with chimichurri on it. I wanted to like this place, but it’s just not worth the money. What’s more, the service was terribly slow. It wasn’t our server’s fault, but when the restaurant is busy and there’s one person working the front of the house, plan to have an empty wine glass, and once you’re plates have been cleared plan to wait 30 minutes for your check.

Don’t let the exterior fool you — this place is just great. The soup starter is always simple but delicious — seasoned perfectly. Just try all of the empanadas, you’ll discover you favorites only after trying them all. Going to Caminito Tango is almost like eating in someones home in Argentina. The atmosphere is inviting, if not just a bit down-scale. Still it’s small and comfortable. If you’re looking for trendy bar scene don’t bother. If you want great food, give Cominito Tango a try.

Went there to try it with a Groupon. The empanadas were good but that’s where we should have stopped. We odered a breaded flank steak that had no taste whatsoever. We picked a salad as a side and it was just grated lettuce with no dressing on our plate. Thank God for the balsamic vinegar on the table to add taste to our dish. Sorry we won’t be going back…

First visit, with 7 friends after playing volleyball on a Sunday. Loved the ambiance and attitude, plus of course the empanadas were terrific. Took some home to share. This is a friendly place and very affordable. It’s a wonderful diversion from the big, noisy, expensive restaurants and the franchises. The night we went a party of 10 showed up unexpectedly and although that affected timing in such a small establishment, it didn’t affect the overall enjoyable experience. Looking forward to returning.

Horrible! I can’t get the taste of grease out of my mouth. I feel Ill leaving this place and will never return. I sampled all of the empanadas and tried their most popular tapas. I need to run 20 miles to get the taste flavorless fat out of my mouth. Horrible.

I liked it overall but one of the empanadas was underbaked, the Argentinian in our party said the meats were not prepared in an Argentinian style, the menu was difficult to decipher, and the servers seemed unfamiliar with the workings of a restaurant.

We’ve passed by this one a few times and always said we needed to check it out so Friday was the big night. After reading a review in the Westword, I was further intrigued to make it happen. Upon entry, the restaurant itself is naught special… pretty basic décor. I was a little surprised by the limited wine list — I was really hoping to order some fun Argentinian wine but the best that they could muster by the glass was Frontera. Oh well. On the flip side, the food was a real treat! Not familiar with Argentinian cuisine, I have nothing to gauge this place against but what I can say is that the empanadas were good — damn good. So good in fact that next time I will skip the entrée and just order the 12 for $ 25 going forward. We ordered a few initially but they were so delicious and tasty that we ordered more. And more. All said and done we had several beef, a ham & cheese(meh), one with mushrooms, tomato & mozzeralla, spinach & feta, and a special. All were exceptional except the ham and cheese, which I suspect was simply never meant to be made into an empanada in the first place unless you are in America. Service was okay, a little slow but very friendly. Overall, this was a fun dining experience and I’m looking forward to coming back! BTW you can order empanadas before-hours to cook at home(I hear some people do that on occasion). The number is posted on the door outside the restaurant. As a future guest at your host I would appreciate if you served me these sometime. Thanks!

Here is a short list of things you should know about Caminito Tango: 1. They sell empanadas by the dozen.(While the selection is as expansive as that at Buenos Aires, it is good and my personal favorite is the spinach and feta. Also you can get them baked or fried, but obviously fried is the most delicious.) 2. The menu here is pretty small, as is the dining space. I think they can hold about 45 people in one go, but when I was last in there we were the only table so crowding doesn’t seem to be a problem. As for the menu it boasts about 6 or 7 section with each section holding 3 — 4 items. 3. They serve wine from a barrel. How awesome is that?! Overall I enjoyed my meal here, but I’m not sure I’d rush to experience it again since it’s a bit of a drive for me to make it over here.

Ay Caramba! Las empanadas son muy deliciosas! We ordered Sangrias to compliment our order of a dozen empanadas shared among 3 people. We each ordered our own four and they had a special of 12 for $ 20. Took other Unilocalers’ advice and ordered all my empanadas FRIED. People are right! My favorite is the corn and mushroom one. I also had ham and cheese/beef/chicken as my other 3. Everyone pretty much ordered the same thing except the bf and friend both opted for the spinach and feta instead of the ham and cheese. They both enjoyed the feta one then the beef. None of us really liked the chicken one as much as the others since it tasted a little too tangy for our taste. I personally am not too much of feta fan so the ham and cheese was delicious as well. Next time I go I probably will order 2 mushroom and corn and 2 beef. My friend is the only one who got hers baked and she enjoyed then but the fried one is def. better. The chimichurri sauce was so perfect on top of the empanadas. We also added some to our Salad Mixta as added dressing. I couldn’t get enough of the chimichurri, just thinking about it makes me drool. 4 empanadas were a lot for me, I ended up taking 1 home. I should have taken 2 home but it was just so good I couldn’t stop eating. I would come back for their beef dishes since I know Argentineans are famous for their beef dishes in Argentina… Definitely one of my favorite places for yummy ethnic food!

OK, so the night started off by having a reservation at Limon at 630pm. We showed up and were seated right away. That was the last time we saw anyone. So after sitting for 12 mins and being ignored by our waitstaff we picked up and walked out. With that being said on a Friday night with no reservation, we turn to our friends on Unilocal to save the night. We find Caminito Tango and decide from the reviews to give it a whirl and boy were we thrilled that we did. The service was excellent, the food was great and the interior was quaint and fun. We had empenadas, calamari, chorizo and peppers and a salad. We ordered a mojito and sangria and to top it off we each got a dessert. All this for 40.00BUCKS!!! I COULDHAVEKISSEDTHECOOK/BARTENDER/WAITER!!! I believe the owner of this joint is running a low budget staff operation, but you could not tell other than he was pretty much the only face we saw. He made us feel like we were friends, fed us until we were full and was gracious and pleasant to be around even though most of his tables were full by the time we ordered dessert. Caminito Tango is a must try. Places like this are gem. I wish them the best with a long prosperous future, now please pass the empenada.

I have been searching for a gaucho similar to one i visited in NYC. Although Caminito Tango is similar, the quality isn’t quite the same. We started with chicken and beef empanadas, which were very tasty. For our entrees, my wife had the breaded steak and i had the parillada. Her breaded steak was nothing to brag about and the parillada was just average. The parillada typically comes with a flank steak, skirt steak, chorizo, chicken, tripe, blood sausage, and sweetbread. They didn’t have any skirt steak and sweetbread, so they gave me more of two other items. I was a little disappointed. One highlight of the entrée was the side of rice that came with my meal. It may have been cooked in chicken or beef stock. Our service was subpar, but she seemed to be dealing with a cold. Would I return? Maybe in a year to see if things have changed for the better.

Brand new place struggling with typical restaurant start-up issues. We had empanadas and tapas but none of the entrees. Quilmes beer, Sangria and red wine from Mendoza added to great Argentinean atmosphere. Good stuff.

So… second time around, mojitos were not so good. A different server made them and I think that was the problem. Maybe forgot the rum? And simple syrup? The empanadas were delicious as always. Tried the corn, mushroom one and it was super yummy. However, this trip we ordered the chicken pesto ravioli and it was… not so good. It came out cold. Sad, I know.

My new favorite. Empanadas were killer. Fried. Chirrichirri perfect. Like the Gauchos I love the beef and the Vacio is juicy, flavorful and tender. Papas are fresh. Fried were hand cut and crispy. Mashed just right. Great service. Cold beer. Soccer in HD on the tube. Comfortable and good food. Great value. Dang. Just writing this is making me hungry.

This place impressed me. The ground meat empanada is delicious. I ate the steak«milanesa» a huge breaded thin steak. It was really good as well as the mashed potatoes and green salad. My bf got the chicken ravioli and it was delicious too. It was also a big plate. I recommend the place, a and the prices are reasonable. Can’t wait to go back for more empanadas.

Surprising and wonderful. Anxious to please, Sangria, Empanadas, great salad. and reasonable prices. Pasta sauces were fresh and tasty. Marinara and Alfredo, because we asked for them on one order. Shrimp were jumbo and not overcooked. A wonderful evening, Tero, our waiter was personable and attentive. a great smile. Susan, my friend and I, will certainly return. Don’t miss this one, truly worthwhile. Marc
