Sitting on a park bench with time to spare why not chill at a park for a bit? I love this area, close enough to downtown, and uptown, and Colfax, but not in the mix. To the North there are some amazing historic houses from Denver’s Past, that sparkle like gems in the light, next to the high rises being built on the South. There’s all types of people thanks to gentrification, which makes hanging out here very interesting. This park probably has one of the best playgrounds I’ve seen. I am a bit envious of the kids enjoying it, it looked like a lot of fun, and much safer then when I was little.

I spent a lot of time in this park this summer cooling off from biking. There is a nice playground and fountain and bench seating as well as ample grassy area. I saw lots of people there with their kids playing. There was almost always a group playing frisbee or volley ball or something fun. Overall I think the park is nice, but there is a vagrant issue too it as well. Mostly they stay to themselves but I have seen people get quite loud when intoxicated. Than said, I have seen more good than bad.

This park has the potential to be one of the prettiest in the city, but people who don’t clean up after their dogs(and themselves!) seem to think it’s okay to blame their laziness on the homeless that sleep in the park at night. Pick up some trash, clean up after yourself, and let’s make this park as awesome as it should be.

It’s a park! And it’s sort of near downtown but set a bit apart. On nice days, there are usually at least 3 dogs running around off leash. That’s why I personally don’t hang out here with my pooch, because my dog is a law-abiding mammal who stays on-leash in public spaces. But the fountain is pretty, it’s right across from Jonesy’s and Wahoo’s and that cute B&B on Tremont. Not much by the way of features(e.g. no playground) but plenty of green grass. Not too big, and not overrun like Wash Park. Good for a picnic if you live in the hood.
